I was…read moretaken by ambulance to the border and another ambulance to the Yuma Regional Hospital for two nights for chemical burns in lungs throat eyes & sinuses. My symptoms had improved after the injuries but worse and worse since. I thought my dentist was one of the owners but when I talked to him about this asking how they handle these things in Algodones. He said I would be better off just talking to the owner, but he doesn't even know the guy. I have been calling them to speak to the owner ever since getting the run around for over 2 years. The owner is not there, the manager is not there. They are on vacation or they don't speak English or when the person answering the phone acts like the manager, they don't know what to do about it. Rhis Hotel does not have insurance or a working website to contact them in writing. I am not familiar with the postal system in Mexico and I'm not familiar with the legal system either. I can't believe they don't have insurance, they have never paid the medical bills and they don't take any responsibility. 4 people were admitted to the Yuma Regional Hospital in Yuma Arizona after the hotel fire. I have kept in touch with 2 of them who have never been able to reach the owner or get any compensation.

The best thing I can say it was close to the boarder and public transit was cheap and easy but didn't run on schedule. Happy to have my dental and ophthalmology services completed with this hotel being the closest. As for amenities the food at the sidewinder was good however, my prime rib and baked potato was cold. I did Send it back and they brought me the order back piping hot. The Café food was delicious. Unfortunately at the time I could only have soup. Which the cream of mushroom was fantastic! The slot machines were average, maybe if I had won a jackpot my rating would be higher. I didn't win big but won enough to pay for my meals and pathetic hotel.

From the moment you arrive, staff greets you warmly, takes care of valet parking, and helps with your luggage. Check-in was quick and easy, and the staff was always friendly and helpful. During the day, you can choose from three different restaurants. I didn't get a chance to try them all, but I did have breakfast. The food was okay, but the breakfast area is small with limited capacity. I ended up waiting about 40 minutes in the lobby before being seated. That was the only downside. In the evening, I invited some relatives, and we went to the bar. It's small and intimate, and that night they had a gentleman playing the piano. He even played a few of my favorite Luis Miguel songs, which created such an enjoyable atmosphere. Staff at the bar were attentive and made the experience even better. As for the room, it was spotless and very comfortable. Housekeeping did an excellent job, and anytime I needed something, staff responded right away. I've stayed at several hotels in Mexicali, and this one is by far my favorite when visiting family. I definitely look forward to returning!

For the rooms we decided on the 2 queen bedroom. Those two beds; though smaller than we originally thought were surprisingly comfortable after a night's sleep! Unusual for us not waking up from an uncomfortable bed. The desk /mirror combo had a vanity set vibe to it, nice. And we really appreciated (in this triple-digit heat) how the a/c ran cold for us! The continental breakfast was good; it was nice to see instead of just oatmeal they had additional options such as grits and cream of wheat! The hotel staff: professional friendly and accommodating. The lounge area in the lobby had a great look about it, and the seating was comfortable. I accidentally left some items in the room after checkout, but was able to retrieve them after leaving contact information. The hotels located seconds away from restaurants, gas stations and the main highway. Overall enjoyable!
