Ugh... I'm torn... They have some cool stuff... and there have been a few times I've wanted to get something... But why buy here, when I can get it from Home Depot at the same price... AND have an actual warranty and such with it? Some of their prices are decent, some are totally insane... I totally understand their goal is to make money... but you would have gotten a LOT more sales out of me if the prices were actually discounted like you'd expect them to be. (I'm sure you're going to give me the same boiler plate answer... that when Home Depot gives you stuff to sell, they force you to sell it at no less than xx% of a discount. Went in looking for some property parts and fixes. I found the guys at the store very helpful, and when I had chosen a clip for a gate fastener, a guy came up to me and asked if I needed anything else. I just happened to be looking for screens for my basement windows. I gave him some measurements and after a couple of tries, he came back with 4 suitable screens. The premise of the store is a donation centre for Habitat For Humanity. People and companies donate building items, either new, slightly damaged or used, which the Restore sells are majorly discounted prices. The profits are donated to Habitat For Humanity specifically for building Habitat For Humanity homes in Edmonton and area. We're talking everything from cabinets still in the box, lighting, flooring, fixtures, plumbing, electrical and on and on. Where do you go when you need a miscellaneous item (like an old window frame) for a craft? Well, I usually start off at the Habitat Restore! Most people in there seem to be doing home renos or things of the sort, but I love these stores for the cheap knick knacks you can find! On this particular visit, I didn't find the old wooden window frame I was envisioning, but I sure did find a bunch of old cabinet doors without glass in them. Same deal! I'll be stringing some wire in the back and making a vision board of sorts out of them. The very first Restore I ever visited was the one in Calgary when it first opened. It was soooo well organized! This one was also well organized, and signage for pricing was pretty easy to see, but it wasn't quite as big and didn't have as much variety. So, three stars for them. But very helpful and friendly staff and prices you can't really beat. This location is a little hard to get into if you're not familiar with the area. If you're coming down the Yellowhead from the west, you'll want to take the 82 St turnoff and then continue on like you're pulling a U-turn to head back westward rather than heading up 82 St north. That'll bring you by the access road to the business area on your right. read more

I don't know who is pricing this stuff but they should get fired !! Even if you look at comparable items this item is used and the other is on a shelf at Home Depot !!!! Not suppose to be the same price !! Better off going to ac house or reusables Edmonton on argyl for a better price !! read more

We've used it to donate building items and to purchase things from cabinets, light fixtures, bathroom tiles, interior doors, to fireplace surrounds during our home renovation projects. Mixed feelings! Love the concept of helping others in need, however I feel this company has become like so many other so called thrift stores. Prices are beyond the reach of the ones who could really use it. The shelves are so packed because the prices are too high for the average do it yourselfer ! This is a store that is receiving free donated product. The locals should also feel the love and benefit from the used low price products! Sure they are assisting the few who receive homes but the majority who also need a break from the high cost of building materials are siftingng through the high priced products! ( the price of plumbing materials is as high as new in Home Depot, infact higher compared to Home Depot sales, or clearance ! ) without the security of warranties or ability to return defective PRODUCT. Majority of the products are sent to restore because they could not sell at retail stores! Sell it at a thrift store price and empty the selves ! This will bring more money to those in need and help out locals who just can't pay full price! The selves are over full for a reason! Its because the prices are too high! read more
