If you're looking to buy home improvement or furniture, I guess they're OK. If you're looking to donate, they're difficult. Donations are accepted one day a week on Saturday for 6 hours. I had some items that were low value (about $30) but more likely to sell at Habitat than elsewhere. They couldn't stop leaf blowing long enough to avoid creating a dust storm around me while I was attempting donate, but I didn't complain. Apparently it's also a hassle for them as a 503(c) to generate a blank donation receipt, so instead they chose to mock me by suggesting a value of $69,000 for the receipt. I shot back that they were more valuable than the president's underwear. They took umbrage to that. Gaslighting at it's finest. Rule #1 in charity is to respect all donors great or small. The small donor you belittle today won't be back to donate or buy bigger things tomorrow. And don't confuse this location with the more respectable and accessible Habitat for Humanity Austin. They are two different organizations. read more

The most choosy beggars. Have some very nice quality (just not our style) light fixtures from a new home we moved into. Brought over a modern metal chandelier and two modern metal pendant lights. Thinking we could do some good to help the community and prevent them from going to a landfill. Some lazy dude told us that they had "a lot" already and didn't want them. I just scored the most incredible set of chairs, I love them so much! For only $200. they originally came from Neiman Marcos, with a sales price of over $4,000. each when purchased. I love this store. I also purchased paint, and a small cabinet for 2 gallon of high grade paint, and a great cabinet for $20. more . It was a great day for me. I forgot I bought a new bathtub, it's big and white. Only cost $150.00 for my bathroom renovation. Love, Love this store. Everybody is super friendly, and helpful. If it wasn't for the sign posted by the street, it would be easy to miss this place. I've been to a few of these restores, but this is the smallest one I've seen with the least selection. They have a decent selection of ceiling fans, lighting, even some appliances and including some furniture. They also have a public bathroom. It's worth stopping in if you're in the neighborhood, but not worth making a pilgrimage to. read more

I sure hope this facility is serving the community well. They certainly aren't serving the folks dropping off donated goods. I'm an old lady. I had some nice construction stuff to donate. There were 3-4 young, healthy men just standing around. None offered to help me unload. As I started to drive away, after unloading all my stuff, a friendly supervisor came up to ask if he could help. He told me the guys were "volunteers," as if that were an excuse for their lack of initiative. In my experience volunteers do good, and often exemplary work, understanding their importance to the organizations for which they work. read more

use to be great but they must of went under new management as i notice a big change for the worst. like the inventory doesn't change over much. i think it's the tight restrictions on donation drop off days and times. these people have options and over time it's just gonna get worse. on the positive side the space is more open and cleaner but probably because their is less inventory. inventory and inventory turnover is what makes these types of stores work. signed a very frequent customer who is disappointed. read more

Awesome store and friendly people. Right now only open by appointment (reserve online) to prevent germs. Re-claimed hardware and home improvement items. Got a light kit for a ceiling fan for $8, can't beat that. They have a lot of old doors, old lamps, old sinks. Used furniture and new tiles for floors and counters. I had 4 brand new in the box exterior light fixtures we decided not to use in a remodel. And 2 brand new towel racks. Instead of returning the items to Home Depot I decided to donate. They wouldn't take them. And they were quite rude about it. Only on Saturday. I work every single Saturday. It's not an option for me. I even carried them into the store (I wasn't aware of their Saturday only rule) and they sent me away. So I drove over to Goodwill where they happily took my items. And I spent $59 on more stuff inside the Goodwill . There's no AC in the Habitat store. It looked like there was nothing but a bunch of crap in there anywhere. If y'all want decent stuff donated y'all need to be a little flexible. Oh well. It's no wonder Goodwill can can afford build all their fancy stores ‍ read more

I agree with an earlier review, why accept donations only on Saturday? We tried to donate some very nice light fixtures on a Monday around 11 am. Nope. As the other reviewer said, our time is also valuable and we are the ones making an effort to get to Habitat. Weirdly unhelpful. read more

I made the time and effort to take a donation to habitat only to be told they are only taking donations on Saturdays. I could not even leave the item in a donation bin. Sorry guys, I like to support habitat but my time is valuable to. Their loss is goodwill's gain. read more

I am writing to praise the people who work at this store. They are always wonderfully helpful and especially Yvonne who goes out of her way to make your shopping experience good. I have a relative who often volunteers at the store and he has told me many times how great a supervisor Yvonne is and how much he appreciates working for her. She seems to have a special talent for managing people. When employees ( in this case volunteers) are happy, they make the shopping experience happy for the customers. I have a neighbor who has remodeled his home and practically lives at the Restore! He has purchased doors, and fans and too many things to count at the Restore. It's a great place for do-it- yourselfers! read more

Use to check this place more often, but it seems like management or something changed. There could be paint cans 1/2 empty and some 3/4 full and the price is the same. There use to be some leniency in price depending upon the state of the product but not anymore. Even some of the products that are unopened they're charging 90% of the full retail price. Here there's no option to return. If I spend the extra 10% and purchase from a large retailer like lowes then I at least get peace of mind with a return policy. read more

Really unique take on a thrift store. All items are home improvement related, dishwashers, light fixtures, knobs, lawn mowers, fuses, sinks, a bevy of bargains if one is looking for home improvements. This would be an amazing resource for builders or landlords who need practical items for build outs. Prices are VERY reasonable. (Dishwashers started at $30, microwaves from $20, light fixtures from $1.) And, of course, your purchase benefits a very worthwhile cause! read more

I suggested you to go to Goodwill in Georgetown, if you looking to purchase any type of furniture. They wanted charge you 400.00 for a Washer that you can't not even return it if a broke a day latter. On top their furniture is not in the best condition, and they wanted to charge hundred's for things they get for free. I just happen to go yesterday and grab few AC filter's and they wanted charge 2.00 each. The same type of filter's wish were the cheapest brand cost 0.99 cents at the Home Depot. Just to let you know anything you purchase at goodwill you can returned it. If is anything electronic you have 14 day's to returned it. At Habitat even if is a brand new item they will not exchange it. I happen to purchase a washer 2 year's ago that cost me 250.00. The washer last me 2 weeks and no guarantee and no return. If you happen to purchase anything that expensive, please keep in mind they will not give you the 14 day's return policy as Goodwill will do it for you. read more

I shop at various Habitat ReStores for almost everything in my house and Georgetown is one I can strike off the list. Their items are priced noticeably higher than the other stores and I was given attitude last time I went and was refused sale of a ceiling fan I was specifically looking for because, and I quote, "We can get more for scrapping it"....maybe these idiots should look up Hunter Originals on ebay....one customer lost for good, this store gets zero stars read more

Very disappointed in this location. I called and spoke with three different employees at this location to have them come pick up some laminate flooring. I explained that that would be inside the location as most people know that you can not keep this kind of flooring outside. I was assured no problem, they would certainly take it. Well they came out to the house and said they were not allowed to come inside the home. They even called the Supervisor who confirmed they could not come inside the home. Wow! You call you self a humanitary location when someone is going to donate good wood flooring. Not so much! Thanks for not taking my donation! Not only have you delayed my home project but I am really going to turn my nose up at helping your location when it comes time for voluteering. read more

UPDATE: Nasty Woman no longer works there. Glad I can go in and not deal with the junk... (Old Review)..Tried to call first to ask if they had what I was looking for (lumber). No one answered. Went there and met a volunteer who could not answer my question about pricing on the wood. A manager said I would need to get what I wanted and come find her to get pricing. When I found nothing I was looking for I settled on 4 pieces of wood. However, no one was available to ring me out. I put my pieces back and started to leave. As I was leaving a guy had a pick up FULL of wood and said I could have some. I had three pieces in my hand and he was giving me a couple more. The same manager said "Sir, is she with you" I said "No he is giving me a couple pieces of wood." She told this man. "Sir, either you are donating or giving HER the wood. She is a customer!" "Um, no, I left the store" (No one was there to ring me out and they did not have what I was looking for. She demanded the wood in my hand. I said "Are you serious? You have a problem with him giving me three pieces of wood?" By the way, if they had this wood I would have bought it from them and been a return customer. I put the wood back in his truck and walked away. First, if this guy was willing to give me the wood it was his place to do so. It was still in his truck. Second, he was donating to them,what a way to tick off both your customers and your donators. This "manager" needs to be retrained to see the bigger picture. Nothing she did today benefited the store. Also, the store is a MESS. You can't find anything. It is a junk pile when it comes to the lumber area and it is unsafe. Will NEVER EVER go here again! Seldom do I get particularly enthused over a visit to a thrift type store. My girlfriend, however, is a thrift aficionado. When she suggested that we should hit " first Friday " sale at Habitat for Humanity in Georgetown, I was slightly sceptical, but happy to go, just because it made her happy. She told me of the bargains in home improvement, which I do love, so, off we went from Salado. When we arrived, it wasn't much to look at, but I tagged along. When we started looking at the offerings, the feeding frenzy began. I picked up so much stuff that I had wanted, but didn't want to pay for, for next to nothing. Then there was the service. The staff are so happy to be there, and so accommodating, that you could just as well be in a fancy hardware store. Funny. In my experience, you can't even get help when you pay full price. When it was all done, I had spent $175.00. If I had gone to a regular hardware store, which I do often, the price would have exceeded $1000.00. Special recognition goes out to Tiffany. She remembered my girlfriend's name , hugged her, and generally went out of her way to make it a great experience. There are plenty of people who need the things I purchased way more than I do. Now, my curiosity satisfied, and my girlfriend's Expedition full, we know where to take our lightly used furniture, for the purpose of donation. What an exemplary organization. read more
