We visited this place after our kids earned a reading program coupon, and we were excited to finally give it a try. It's conveniently located near the Mesa Airport. They also have a drive-thru, but orders need to be placed in advance, so we walked in and ordered at the counter instead. We ordered the Chicken Club Sandwich, while the kids enjoyed the nuggets and grilled cheese. Everything is made fresh to order, and you can definitely taste the freshness in the food. The restaurant was quite busy. While our order was taken quickly, the wait to receive our food was much longer than expected. We understand that fresh food takes time, but waiting nearly 20-25 minutes for a takeout order felt excessive. The restaurant itself was clean, and the staff appeared hardworking despite the rush. The pricing is reasonable, and the sandwiches were tasty. However, the onion rings were overcooked and tasted burnt, which was disappointing. Overall, the food quality was good, but the long wait time and burnt onion rings kept the experience from being a great one. read more

I'm a big fan of Habit Burger & Grill and started coming to this location when it first opened, but unfortunately the experience has gone downhill over time. I understand that the food is made to order, but when the restaurant is nearly empty, it shouldn't take more than 30 minutes to receive your meal. The staff has generally not been very friendly, and on multiple occasions we've had to go back because something was missing from our order, even basic items like utensils. After several disappointing visits, we finally decided to stop coming to this location. It's unfortunate because we really enjoy Habit Burger, but each experience here seemed to get a little worse. read more

First of all, I'd like to clear the air with the tablet ordering: it's terrible. People are too busy in the kitchen to take your order, and that's fine, but if they're too busy then maybe the owners need to hire more people at this place. It is a busy place, and all fast food places, for the most part, are great at keeping the dining area clean of dirt or food left behind from other people. When looking for a place to sit, I noticed that EVERY table (about 5 or 6 tables were EXTREMELY dirty). Had to ask for the table to be cleaned, and then we wiped down the rest. Ketchup was empty, that's expected, but it was just more icing on the cake. My issue is the service and most especially how dirty the entire dining area is. I don't know how often they clean those tablets, but if they don't clean the tables or the floor, I highly doubt that they clean those tablets full of bacteria. Trash cans are filled to the brim with garbage. Hire more workers to keep the dining area free from being a health hazard. Now, others may say "Yeah they're busy, what do you expect?", the other Habit that closed down located in the Santan Village area would clean tables, sweep/mop, and even empty trash cans when customers needed a clean space before it got too dirty/full. read more

Waited 40+ minutes and our food was still 10/15 minutes behind. We weren't given any notice of this when ordering or we wouldn't have agreed to stay. Unfortunately the kids could no longer wait and we headed towards home. We did stop at Culver's and were treated like VIP's for a fraction of the cost. It's a one and done for us at this location. Still love the Habit too much not to give up, just have to drive a bit further. On the plus side, the store is clean and customer service is great. Just please NO phones while making food, with gloves on. I completely lost my appetite. read more

The Habit is one of my go-to spots. It's a step above typical fast food, and I feel like I'm eating better quality food without breaking the bank. Prices are affordable, and I love that they even offer family meals now. I'm a big fan of their crispy chicken, so when I order a salad, I usually sub in crispy chicken. In all the years I've been coming here, I've always received a full chicken breast sliced on my salad. This time, however, the staff swapped it out for their new chicken nuggets. I wasn't impressed--the nuggets had very little meat and were mostly breading. The salad itself was still good, and their ranch dressing is absolutely one of the best, a must for anything you order. I love habit so much and have never been so disappointed in one. This locations is absolutely terrible. They were short staffed and there was a wait which wasn't an issue. The issue was the food was absolutely terrible. I get the same order at any Habit the Santa Barbara char which comes with 2 patty's. They literally put one patty on half of my sandwich and 1/2 of a patty on the other half. The cheese was still in form from not being melted and the all the veggies were so old and wilted. So so sad because I was crazy it so bad but what a terrible experience. The worst part is is that they were so short staffed and instead of the Manager coming out of the office and helping he just sat there and let them all drowned. read more

Ok, it's been a year since I visited this place hoping that there was improvement. I gave them a one star then. The only reason I'm back after 3 consecutive bad reviews is that they closed down the Market Street location in Gilbert. When my husband and I entered it looked promising, a lot more employees and two of them greeted us right away eager to help. The reader to be purposely moving about. However, it took about 30mins to get our food. It doesn't look as if there was a manager present. Maybe just a lead? Not sure why a waiting customer should have to wait so long. They still have some work to improve but it was better than last time. read more

The food is made fresh to order, not like a standard fast food joint, so don't go in expecting the food immediately. It took about 10 minutes or so to get our order but it was so worth it! Jay was the one at the front taking care of us and the amount of amazingness that Jay was made the whole experience. Friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in. This is my first visit to this Habit, with the others nearer my home closing. I was pleasantly surprised that this location has more tables and seating than the one I previously visited on Market St in Gilbert (now closed). There was a good flow of traffic on a Saturday afternoon, as well. My usual BBQ bacon Char with cheese was as good as it always has been, as were the onion rings. The food has always been consistent at the Habit. This location was clean and bright. The service was quick. I hope this location sticks around. read more

Every other Habit I've been to can deliver a delicious burger or sandwich in 5-10 minutes EVEN if the restaurant is packed. I'm not sure what the issue is with this location, but my wife and I waited 45 minutes for 2 lousy burgers and when they arrived, they were cold! How is that possible? The place wasn't even busy! Reading the other reviews, it looks like this is a common theme at this location. Ridiculous. The staff is worthless. It took 3 people to figure out how to scan our gift card. The 2 cooks looked they they were grilling one burger at a time. Every employee looked confused about everything. I'm not one to complain about slow service, but there is no excuse for this location to constantly be as bad as it is. Corporate should either send in a regional manager to turn it around or revoke the Habit Franchise. read more

Bread was stale and hard with a black ring around the edge, and it seemed too big for the meat patty. Just ate here and the fries were not hot. Returned them for replacement and the second order was soggy and lukewarm. When I ask them to replace them with something different, the worker said the fries were cooked correctly and couldn't replace them. What could I say? I just left the fries on the counter and left. This was my second time trying this because so many say they are the best burgers. The first time was right after this store opened and it was terrible but I chalked it up to being newly opened. I never order fast food but had a taste for a good burger so thought I'd try them again and just ordered on DoorDash. It arrived very quickly so wasn't sitting around but the bun was hard as a rock, the onion rings were burnt and had barely any onion inside, , the sweet potato fries were limp and soggy. I've eaten at a Habit before, and I will say the food is good. The service at 5033 S. Power Rd, Mesa, AZ 85212 has to be the absolute worst. I went through their drive-through and ordered a chicken burger meal and a charburger meal. Had to take the fries back in because they were cold. After I got the fries, I left to take the food home so we could eat. Once I got home, I noticed they never gave me the charburger, so I had to drive all the way back out there to pick up a burger, while the other person stayed at my house and ate alone. Seriously? It's fast food, putting burgers together and in a bag...and people can't even get that right. They weren't even busy, that is what gets me. read more

I've been to This Habit Burger Grill twice now and both times for, wait for it.. their Caesar salad with ahi tuna! As a pescararian, there aren't many options for me when it comes to fast food. So imagine my surprise when I saw ahi tuna on their menu. They also have it in a sandwich! I've only been to the drive-thru and both experiences were pleasant and the staff was friendly. I've noticed that there's typically a wait when I order this salad. I've placed the same order at other Habit Burger Grill locations and there's been a wait, too. I'm guessing the ahi tuna takes longer to prep than most items. I'm not complaining, I'm just happy to have a semi-healthy fish option at a fast food joint. The salad is usually fresh and flavorful. I love Caesar salads and am a little picky with the dressing, and I really like theirs! It's a delicious and filling salad that I will continue to order whenever I need something quick! read more

They removed the menu from the drive thru and are now calling it a "mobile pickup lane"? It is very inconvenient as they don't have the menu available and want you to scan a QR code to see the menu if you didn't already do a mobile order. My phone is in a dead zone and the menu wouldn't load so I had to order at the window after waiting 10 minutes behind the car in front on me in the lane, and then wait an additional 10+ minutes for my food after ordering. This system is dumb and is not what a drive thru should be. Luckily there are a lot of other burger places on this same street that know how drive thrus should work. read more

Long story short.. A) don't trust this Habit Burger to refund you money if they ask you to fill out a paper refund request form. B) leave if their store looks to be understaffed and/or there are any larger group of people waiting for food. Unfortunately I have to post a negative review hoping this might get the attention of what used to be my favorite fast food hamburger. In late November 2024 I stopped by and ordered a combo using the order kiosk. I noticed a large number of adults & kids seated and standing around. After waiting 10 min I noticed some customers were asking for when their food would be ready. Apparently this very large group of families of junior athletes from a nearby competition had overloaded the Habit Burger staff that afternoon. I settled in for a long wait hoping it would be maybe 20 min as many of these families were getting angry and eventually asking for their money back. After around 30 ish minutes of no food, no status, a still seemingly huge line of orders in front of me, I made the call to leave and ask for a refund. The staff was courteous and asked that I fill out a paper form to receive my money back. I left there unhappy that I'd not get my favorite combo but I was happy to be eating something soon. Following this event I emailed the company at feedback@yum.com to request status or next steps to issue my refund. No reply to my email has come in well over 90 days. As well when I stopped by the location to see if I could get it handled I was told to come back early the next morning to try to meet a manager which I couldn't do. After a second stop by weeks later I wrote out a note to the manager asking for a call back to resolve this. Zero communication has occurred. Sadly it appears that Habit store #393's management team, or maybe the people behind Yum brand (www.yum.com) are not ethical or not in the business of righting wrongs that happen within their business. read more
