Fabulous venue for family fun, or for a cheap retro date night. Always reminds me of Grease & the song Sandy, where John Travolta gets fresh, gets slapped, & gets dumped. Ahhh, good times. Where else can you get a double feature for $8? Even if you only stay for the first movie, it's better priced than a "regular" movie theater, especially if you eat anything! Yes, they technically prohibit outside food but they have very reasonable rates for big portions at the concession stand. Bring camping chairs to sit in front of your car. Show up early & bring a frisbee or a ball to toss around. Remember to bring BLANKETS -- it's always colder than the air temp registers when you're just sitting still. If you forget your own, portable radios are available to rent at concessions with a deposit ($5+ either a driver's license or $15 as collateral). Or just use your car radio -- we've kept the car on auxilary and never had a problem with the battery running down, although we do turn the car on at intermission just in case. Caveats: 1) CASH only for admission & concessions, so stop at the ATM before you come. If you leave, you must pay again for readmission. 2) There are specific lanes for cars only and vans & trucks, so plan accordingly if you plan to meet others there, or congregate in front of one person's vehicle. Enjoy the show!

Haar's Drive-In boasts $8 dollars for admission ages 12 & up, $2 for kids 3- 11, 2 & under is free. This place is a blast, it's a throwback to a bygone era that has been in business for over 60 years. Moderately priced concessions & usually a nice set of features. Bring a radio so you do not have to run your car battery. The first movie usually starts at 8:30 / 8:45PM, followed by a brief intermission, then the second movie plays. We have a minivan and usually park parallel to the concession stand & pop our hatch. We bring an air mattress & blankets & chairs to enjoy the show. It can get cold late at night, so jackets are advised. Please pull in as tightly as possible to the post. File under: Great & affordable family fun.

Haar's is still a great drive in and just updated their screen to a metal screen which I cannot wait to see! There are only a few things that bother me now but they do not affect my rating. I still see this as a 5 star place!! Pros- Great snacks in the snack bar. Popcorn is buttery and better than any I've had in a movie theater. French fries are home made and with the cheese sauce are amazing. They also have big pickles, which we love. -The movies are always new, and the staff is very friendly. -Movies are $8 for adults and $2 for kids and my son and I always pile up the car with blankets and pillows and snuggle in for a great night Cons- TAKE JUMPER CABLES because if your car battery dies they can no longer give you a jump after the movie. One stupid person ruined it for everyone, as usual. -Arrive early! They are scheduled to open at 6:30 but if there is a line of cars in the road they have to open early. We went last week at 7 and the place was already full! -They give you a tie down for your trunk but NO LONGER ENFORCE this so if there is a tailgate in front of you lifted too high and they won't lower it, you're screwed. -Smokers do not have designated areas and will smoke where they want. If smoke bothers you at all you'd have to be more choosey with where you park.

    Beautiful summer night spent here

At 40 years old, this was my very first time at a drive-in movie, and to say I was excited is an understatement! I managed to catch the very last weekend of the season, and both films showing were horror movies. Was it the wisest choice for my first drive-in experience? Probably not. But I couldn't resist checking it out before the fall weather got too chilly--so yes, my very first drive-in movie was The Conjuring: Last Rites. Why not go big? We reserved a parking spot online for $10, which gave us peace of mind even though the lot wasn't full that night (maybe because it was the last day of the season, maybe because it was horror night). Either way, we got an excellent spot just a few rows back from the absolutely massive screen--about 40 ft by 60 ft! I even had to grab a selfie at the base of it to show just how huge it was. Tickets were $10 per person, and since you can bring your own snacks and drinks, it makes for an affordable night out. We did check out the snack bar too, and I was impressed--it had way more than a typical theater: burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders, and more, all reasonably priced. The bathrooms nearby were well-labeled, lit, and clean. Tuning into the movie on the car radio at 88.7 FM was easy, and one of my favorite parts was the retro intros and national anthem before the movie started. They felt like they had been playing since the theater first opened in 1951--charming, nostalgic, and completely perfect. Settled in with my blanket, the passenger seat heater cranked up, and a big bowl of homemade popcorn and trail mix, I was in drive-in heaven. The movie was fun, but honestly, this review is about the experience, and Cumberland Drive-In delivered everything I could have hoped for. It was easy to find (GPS took us right to it), stress-free, and an unforgettable way to spend a late summer evening. I'll definitely be back next year--though probably for something other than a horror flick. Highly recommend making the trip and experiencing this slice of Americana for yourself!

We reserved our spots ahead of time but found that wouldn't have been necessary. The tickets were cheap enough for all of us to watch 2 new movies and the snack bar was also super cheap. We always try to patronize the snack bars when we go to the drive in since we've found out that's where they are able to earn most of their money. You can bring your own radio or get one from the snack bar. There is a nice grassy area in the front under the screen that kids can play in and everything is pretty relaxed at this drive in. Given it's one of the closer ones to us, we're going to be back again for their next season.

In NJ we had a few in South Jersey but they closed decades ago becuz of the huge multiplexes. I heard about this place and wanted so badly to check it out. Now if u live where I do or close to the Philly area it's about a 2 hour and a half . But it's def worth the trip. It would be cool, for a family and kids as kids r free 11 and under which is a big savings $$$$$. They have your drive in which late last year in August the price $8 a person . U can't beat it . My girlfriend and her kids and I left early to get there by dusk .Get there early so u can get a good place since u r outside with this massive screen . Plus, I would recommend to bring goodies we had a cooler for drinks and brought snacks and hoagies. But they have a place where they sell the usual movie eats like popcorn, ice cream, hotdogs, corn dogs, drinks. The great thing is it is kinda nostalgic since I remember them in my early teens. And it's so cool to be outside instead of inside a theater and watch several movies for one price. They run the current movies and I also checked out the Midway's snack center which most where with kids buying drinks , popcorn ,,and candy. If you don't mind driving a couple hours, it is worth the trip. I had a blast It was just so much fun . Def , check it out , I def want to go back and stay overnight since the town is quaint and not overdeveloped like most towns. Def hope it is open in 2017.

At first I was not really impressed ... minus the staff who was my actual first impression and they were very nice and cool. I was surprised we got there a few minutes before gates opened and the whole road was filled with a line to get in. They have one gate and let two cars enter. We had to buy tickets ahead of time and it was per person - not sure if this is common or just for this theater or just for special events. We went for the Godzilla Kong two day event. There is only one large theater and they gave us like no directions on where to park or what to do or anything. We got a spot pretty up close and it was not easy to see where to leave from - they definitely need more markers. I think they assume many people here are regulars but that was not the case and direction by mouth or way of sign would have been helpful. We felt so bad leaving and were not sure if we went out the "theater" correctly. They have a very small like merch stand and a very old snack stand that does have bathrooms- I got nervous seeing the port-a-potties. The bathrooms are very tiny and the stalls are even tinier so if you're claustrophobic (or a more plus sized person) it might not be super comfortable. They did have a decent amount of snacks and I like that they also sold vhs and vinyl inside. There were a bunch of cool displays for this event which I also enjoyed. I do not like that they didn't have radios to rent. Not really trusting using my car radio I did have to purchase a radio to be able to pair. They basically have an mc/dj who made a curated playlist and talked about the movies before hand. It didn't get dark until 9:15 - we only stayed for one movie because of how late it was and when we left we didn't realize how crowded it was. There definitely were some pros and cons to this theater- we'll probably be back mostly for convenience because it was a straight shot up 476 which made getting here really easy. It definitely is a bit more ... noticeably old and I don't know if they play new movies or not. But overall it was enjoyable. Next time we might stay close by when they have a triple feature like this.

It was a clear night with a lot of cars, music, special events, costumes, and just a fun vibe throughout. The on-site radio station runs programming and music up to dusk and the start of the night. We listened from a warm SUV close to the screen and even though everyone was in their own little clusters, we all laughed and cheered loud enough to carry across the open field. The people running this show do it out of love for film, the drive-in experience, and the people who come to see these films. The movies are scheduled so it brings together fans of horror, fantasy, schlock, shock, and classic Gen-X flicks. Check out their podcast which can be linked on their website. In addition to a great concession stand, they've got cool swag and merch. The portable toilet experience is hit or miss, but that's a minor bit of 'roughing it' in exchange for the experience. When we were there, a concert was playing up the road and sometimes competed with the sound of the movies, but I didn't mind that so much as some entitled whine-factories. It's just like it felt back toward the end of the golden era when I was growing up in the 70s and early 80s. Movies on a big white screen outside among a thousand close strangers. Definitely worth the drive if you're between New York and DC.

Well, that's what I did. I went to Midtown cinema to see Sinners. It was a rainy, gloomy day, so it was perfect to go to the movie theater. Since I since I had the theater to my entire self I purchased a popcorn and a soda and of course the movie ticket! Well I was surprised to only find out that my bill came out to be $32 for a movie midday however I continued to watch the movie and this movie was okay! But that part that threw me off were the vampires. I definitely wasn't expecting that, but that was a great little pot plot twist at the end. I was not too fond of it, but the cinema was very nice. The bathrooms were very clean and the staff made up for it. I actually got a chance to talk to one of the staff members and we talked about movies and I told them how I didn't understand why it was vampires and then also Hoodoo which I came to find out. I love that the film was fictional and based on a folklore, talking to someone at the movie theater, who actually studied film themselves was an amazing experience.
