This is a great consignment/thrift/hardware store. I've never really seen anything like it! When…read moreyou enter you go into a small room with lots of home goods-- furnishings, appliances, books, lamps, decor, etc. They have lots of things, from washing machines to cool midcentury modern dining tables to seasonal decor to a pottery kiln (the last time we were there!). It's clear that the stuff in this room has been carefully picked through and the person making the selections on what to include has a good sense of taste. Then, if you turn left, you enter a big room with lumber, sinks, hardware, paint (!!), windows, cabinets, piping, light fixtures, and much more. I found two light fixtures that were super close to something specific I've been looking for. The problem is, the things I've found online have been over $1000. These were about $10. Not everything is in great condition but it requires a lot less patience and sorting through than your average antique store. You could restore a historic home using tons of stuff from here, and that's what we intend to do! We've also heard from others that the things here turn over fairly quickly, so it's worth going again and again. (We intend to do this as well! :) )

The company I work for has spent 10's of thousands or more on basic supplies and stihl equipment,…read moreand plenty of stihl repairs. Last year, we dropped off a 14" demo saw for a stripped armature bolt to be repaired. After 4 months of phone calls, the saw was still not repaired. At the beginning of this year, one of our project managers went to see what was going on, and they handed him a box of parts and said it wasn't repairable. (The saw was fully functional when it was dropped off for a stripped bolt) I spoke with the manager at the time, Mike and explained the situation to him. He was going to see what happened to try to make things right. Fast forward to yesterday 5-12-26, I am back in town from a long project and checked in on the saw situation. Was told Millers was sold and Mike was no longer there, new Owner Ray came and spoke with me i explained everything and he said he would look into it, took my name and number. The stihl guy from the back told me it wasn't my saw that it was registered to some woman, and walked away never to return. Ray called me about an hour later, telling me my saw was not running when dropped off (so I'm lying) and that it isn't even my saw (am I a thief?) and they would not be repairing it or doing anything to make it right for me. If I could leave zero stars, I would. I have been a patron of this store for 15+ years with no issue, but the last 6+ months have been a disaster.

A fantastic experience all the way around. I always knew about Distinctive, and for the life of me,…read moreI don't know why I just didn't start there. I renovated my super small kitchen last year. Although I started my hunt for a backsplash right away, I wanted to wait until I found something I loved, and all of the other fixtures were installed so I could see how it truly looked in the space. I didn't know how much of an issue I'd have finding "it", and as I said, I should have just started with Distinctive. I went to H Winter multiple times, Floor and Decor, all over the internet, and every custom tile/stone store and big box store within a two-hour radius. I looked forever, and no matter where I was I'd eventually see the same options over and over. Then I went to Distinctive... just like I should have all along. Do not let the size of their store fool you. I can confidently say that Deb (owner and design extraordinaire) has, by far, the best selection of any place around. Her eye is fantastic. Distinctive has sublime tile in every flavor. They have a vast selection of truly beautiful, artisan tile and stone. Nowhere else comes close. Deb was patient and wonderful to work with. She could charge for her design services and is just a delight. I ultimately went with my first instinct: a subtle, shimmery gray tile with a crackle finish. I was immediately drawn to this crackle finish when I saw it on the website of an artisan tile manufacturer based in California, but never saw anything similar in person, until I finally went to Distinctive. She has the good stuff! The unique finish calls for some special installation considerations. I hired Deb's son Nathan to do the work since he's familiar with all things stone. I've been a friend of Nate's for over 20 years, and know the quality and craftsmanship of his work. He is a true artist. He prepped the walls so that they were perfect prior to putting up a single stone. He made design suggestions that were wonderful, and created a subtle, custom geometric design above my stove. He is a master in his craft and a wonderful person. I just can't say enough good things! Save yourself some time, and start there!
