Mostly Tuna and Salmon onigiris, some of them with mayo, some of them spicy. The one flavor I took this time that was a new one for us was Kimchi Onigiri. I had tried Kimchi Onigiri earlier this year from Market Ribbon and I absolutely loved it. This one from Kim's Mart wasn't bad but personally, I prefer the one from Market Ribbon. The flavor from that one tastes better somehow. The Onigiri here are better when purchased directly from the Zenya food stall in International Village, but for a quick, affordable and cold bite to eat on a hot summer's day, 2 for $3.98 is pretty hard to beat!

The cashier didn't even apologize for the inaccurate pricing, honour it, or seem to change the price tag. It might be still cheap, but I hate being lied to, so I didn't buy it. Not coming back again! It's been a very long time since I last stepped foot in this place so maybe it's just my faulty memory, but it really did seem like they had expanded their offerings at this place. The fried foods were what really stood out for me. I don't recall this being here at all. It took a lot of restraint for me to not buy anything from here. Deep fried squid, deep fried vegetables, deep fried seaweed roll, tornado potato...etc. They all looked so tempting. I grabbed a couple boxes of Kimbap (One Burdock Kimbap and a Fried Gourd Kimbap) plus a Rice drink that was on sale for $1.99. They also had some Triangular Maki (Onigiri) for sale. No Vegetarian flavors. Tuna was the only flavor I could have eaten since I'm Pescatarian. I decided to stick with the Vegetarian Kimbaps though. Upon first glance, I thought the rice drink was made just from rice milk and that it would be dairy free. It was only when I got home that I read the ingredients label and realized that there was actually some milk in it. Not a problem for me, but for anyone who has lactose intolerance...be sure to check ingredient labels always. Anyways, this Rice drink was Sweet Potato flavored. Ever had a Sweet Potato flavored drink? I thought it sounded like a really interesting flavor, and of course...being on sale, that was extra incentive to try something new. I shared it with my daughter. I think she wasn't too impressed with it. Personally, I loved it. It really did taste like sweet potato. I found that quite impressive. The market definitely appeared to carry a wide and fantastic selection of fresh and frozen, fish and seafood products. My interest was sure peaked by this encounter, to head back soon for a closer look, with some shopping in mind. For me, it will be their frozen products that especially receive my attention when I return. I like to have some on hand, and they certainly have a fine selection to see and choose from. I was so happy and relieved when the lady from the cash register ran out and told me that I'd left my keys. The inside is definitely bare bones and on the smaller side. However, it was full of customers. They're doing something right. They have Korean snacks and produce. Special mention to their dedicated kimchi and ready to eat food section, which have items like tteokbokki (starch roles in sauce) and kimbap. Oh so tasty. Another thing worth mentioning - they have sashimi grade fish, and as of the time of writing, it is much cheaper than T&T. My only real complaint is that the checkout area is set up rather poorly. I just saw a pile of people by the counters and assumed I was in the lineup. Turns out the lineup actually goes down the aisle that is closest to the wall. Pro tip. They have lots of Asian produce, snacks, sauces here. I do find the store isles very narrow. Good thing is that there are plenty of free parking in the area. Due to the store layout, it kind of turns me off from wanting to purchase things from here. I am sure the products are good. Prices are ok. Not everything are cheap here. I am sure they exists to serve the local community or the people in the area who wants to grab Asian produce that Save On doesn't carry. Also I feel like some of the items could be sitting on the shelves for awhile. So do check the expiry date. It is a convenient store for those who lives nearby.
