This is my primary HEB. I can't get home without passing a HEB but this is the one I go to the most often. Smaller than some but that is ok. A ton of Westlake high schoolers work here. All of the staff is friendly and professional. I haven't been a huge fan of the remodel but that is me not them. I see they are trying to use their footprint the best they can. The bakery department is amazing. Recently got a birthday cake from there and it was delicious and exactly what I wanted without having to special order it. I haven't see the cake again and feel like it was made and waiting for me for my special day. Beside the layout, which is not a huge deal, I have nothing but love for HEB. Honestly, one reason we do not leave Texas. We spend six months a year in CO and haul a ton of HEB products with us every summer. read more

I usually use curbside to pick up my groceries weekly. I have an account through the HEB website that allows me to order online and choose my pick up time. They also have a delivery option but it costs more. I have used the delivery option once and it was a positive experience. I have been using the curbside pickup this since before the pandemic of 2020. I have experienced many different things throughout. Extra groceries, missing groceries, friendly people and more reserved people. It just kind of depends on the day. They are always willing to work with me if I have an issue and call it in. The majority of the time I have experienced good service. The food I receive is in good shape. I'd recommend it if you want to save some time. read more

I've been to multiple other H-E-B locations, and am an employee myself. The fact that I was being charged for the use of bags is insane. This store is the only HEB I have been to that has this policy, and it's ridiculous to see that this has yet to change. Are there no such thing as baggers at this location? I don't work at the store, I'm not going to bag my groceries when I don't get paid to do so. Refusing to come back here again. read more

HEB grocery store refused to honor the posted price. On 12-27-24 I bought 12 large grapefruit (mean weight = 1.5 pounds) at the HEB in Westlake Hills, Texas - attracted by the posted price of 97 cents each. However, checking my receipt before exiting the store, I saw that I had been charged 97 cents per pound instead of per each. When I pointed out the error to the checker, the manager on duty was summoned. The total value of the error to me was about $6. The manager maintained that the correct price was per pound. I offered to show him that the price posted at the display was 97 cents each, not per pound. He walked with me back to the grapefruit display in the produce department, to see with his own eyes that the posted price was indeed 97 cents each, in very large print. Nevertheless, the manager refused to honor the posted price. He explained (without actually explaining), "Unfortunately, the register is programmed to charge by the pound." Of course, it is programmed by the pound - that's why it charged me by the pound. The HEB manager refused point blank to honor the posted price. Shoppers beware! Grocery store errors are more common than you might think if you do not check your receipt - and few of these errors are in your favor. Competitors of HEB, like the more shopper-friendly Randalls grocery store in West Lake Hills, routinely honor the posted price in the event of a discrepancy between posted price and the programmed price or the ad flyer price. read more

My local Westlake HEB has been wonderful the last 16 years - within the year, I've noticed poor vegetable selection, subpar seafood, purchased expired items and not realizing until I got home, and this week the floors are filthy. I can't understand the drastic change. The location is so convenient and I don't want to change stores. Please make this store better again! read more

The service and selection at HEB is world class. The sushi department at the Westlake has restaurant level Sushi and I often stop in and grab some rolls on my lunch break. It's a nice little blessing to have great sushi without all of the hassle of a sushi restaurant. I also love walking in and seeing all the flowers and the floral department that greets you. The produce and meat departments also work very hard to keep the food stocked and fresh. Thank you HEB! read more

On the pharmacy website, it clearly states that deliveries can be made on the same day as long as it is ready and you call before 3 PM! When I called and spoke to CJ, he said that the information on the website is incorrect and that the cut off is 2 PM. When I asked him why they don't correct the information, he basically admitted that HEB is too large to make sure that those types of store specific changes. How disappointing, since I have a trip in the morning and have no way to get to the pharmacy today. read more

I needed a flu shot. There was plenty of parking near the pharmacy exit but I had to enter through the main door. There was an employee loitering in the entrance but I managed to get by her. The intake at the pharmacy was smooth and I didn't have to wait long for my shot. It was painless and my insurance paid the full cost. Everyone was wearing masks but it's a little tight in the pharmacy area so no social distance was possible. No one was coughing or looking sick so I'm glad I went. read more

Very nice Heb, 5 stars! Well laid out store, they have a great selection of products. The bakery items are always delicious. I love that they have small gifts and balloons up front so you can grab and pay without having to go far. My favorite bakery items are croissants, empanadas and brownies. Bring your own bag. My favorite is that they have fruits peeled and cut, so if you go on lunch, its perfect. read more

Me and my friend just shopped today at the H-E-B and we were buying some wine. His is from Israel and his passport did not verify enough to purchase of the wine. The reason behind this, is the manager said, "they must have American passport to buy alcohol at their grocery store". Which most people that are not from America use passports as ID. Everything you thought you wanted from a grocery store, in one complete package. For most of us average Joes, that's about as good as it gets. If you're low-maintenance or just not in the mood to deal with the restaurant experience, it's hard to go wrong with the Orange-Plate Special at their Café-on-the-Run: For $5.99 or $7.99, you pick an entrée and two sides that's enough for two meals or for two people to share, a pretty remarkable deal. Of course there are always imperfections: Parking can be spotty at times, and this store doesn't always offer the same in-house coupons or sale items like other HEBs. Sweet Mother of Polly Ethylene! They have plastic bags! It's been so long since I've seen them in an H-E-B in this town, I actually stood and marveled at groceries being placed in plastic bags. I may have even drooled. Also, this store has a lottery ticket machine. I was totally not expecting this! Now I know most grocery stores in Texas have lottery ticket machines, but that's not my point. See, I've always heard the lottery was nothing more than a tax on the poor. But, sure enough, just yesterday I saw a woman decked to the nines in a blue dress and reeking of gold and diamonds getting her lottery fix at the machine so she didn't have to be caught dead in a convenience store. So, you see, my friends, the lottery is actually a tax on the rich! I can only surmise the rich must give poor folks money to buy lottery tickets as a subterfuge for their habit. Brilliant! Then, later on Facebook, I discovered I actually know a manager at this store. It's someone from my high school graduating class. He referred to it as "His H-E-B",but we all know from the commercials it's really "My H-E-B", right? I hope he still thinks I'm cool despite my Facebook posts, but if it comes down to it, I'll give up Facebook for bags. Maybe if I wear one over my head I can still shop here? read more

It's convenient that the HEB I live by also happens to be my favorite one. Sure it's not one of those new and fancy airport hanger sized HEBs, but they seem to always have a lot of good samples including expensive wine tastings. What really compelled me to finally write a review today was something I've been taking for granted here for some time and that is how consistently good their sushi/sashimi packs have been. Yes, in general supermarket sushi is in a different league than what you get at sushi restaurants, but between supermarkets there are tiers as well. And as far as supermarket sushi goes, this HEB is at the top. I didn't come to this realization until I had some really bad sushi from the HEB on Burnet and 2222 - rice was chewy and gelatinous. Now aside from grading this place on sushi - after all it's not what most people rate a supermarket on - this HEB also wins points for their nice produce department and fresh seafood selection. The only things I'd like to see here would be homemade tortillas made fresh in-store (I think they get theirs shipped from another HEB) and a better prepared-foods area. read more

Worked 13 hours, rushed to get groceries for my family, arrived at 10:23pm, and was approached at 11:02pm telling me I had to check out and get out. I had over 300 dollars of groceries. I was told I can't get anything else. All I needed to get was meats. I was then escorted out of the store. I have never been treated like that at a grocery store in 37 years if living. The blonde kid who approached me was very rude and extremely poor customer service skills. Please don't shop at this HEB if you can help it. They aren't customer focused at all. HEB is metaphysical perfection. This HEB has some fung shui issues, but is a welcome addition to my well tread path home from work.

The management actually attempted to have me arrested for "fitting the physical profile of someone" and had me pat-down searched in front of the entire store. After the officers determined that the manager Kevin had made a false report, I was informed by the store that I should avoid shopping with my phone in my hand(?) to avoid situations like this in the future. No representative of the store has attempted to contact myself or remedy the issue, likely due to the legal action I could take against them. I recommend the Randall's down the road, where the people are actually friendly, and don't see taking a picture of a wine display for Instagram as a felony. read more

What is happening to "My H-E-B"? This location is less than a mile from my home and we were so excited when it first opened. How great to have my favorite grocery store so close. Over the years it's been pretty great and the staff was too. There are a few long timers and some that I hope never leave. All in al they cared and importantly they knew the customers or at least engaged in friendly conversation. I thought it w as me but in talking to many neighbors they have noticed the same trend. I've visited other H-E-B locations ( Bee Cave in particular ) and the service has been amazing across the board. Produce, meat, wine, checkout. Today I arrived at HEB and there were two adults who had a collision in the parking lot. Traffic was paused, patrons were finding it difficult to back out, etc. I walked up a manager wearing the name badge Joseph. He was in the bagging area. I said there was an accident outside and it would be great if someone could just help make sure everything is getting back to normal. His response, "It's too busy in here for me to deal with that!" Needless to say I was disappointed and felt he could have at least called someone getting carts to check in. Hoping someone at HEB sees this and could make a polite mention to step it up. Maybe Jospeh could go work at Bee Cave for a couple of days and see what a team looks like. We all expect the best in the area and we aren't close at this location. Prove me wrong HEB. read more

I've always loved this HEB and gone the distance to skip the Randall's in Westlake. No more. At least 1/3 of customers and some employees do not wear masks. It's disappointing the Central Market Westgate can handle basic safety precautions so well and this store can't. I realize it's also the clientele. HEB - I love ya and I spend a lot of money on food and wine - I won't go back until you start requiring masks. read more

Thank you for your staff for working so hard and diligently during this pandemic. I walked in with someone greeting me with hand sanitizer which was a nice surprise. Items were stocked the best that they could be considering the circumstances. Employees were in good spirits! Signs were in place for social distancing. I grew up in Westlake and have been going to this HEB since I was a kid. It's my favorite HEB and I don't even live close to it anymore! I drive extra to come to this location. I tried curbside pickup for the first time this morning and was very impressed with the whole experience. HEB employees really go above and beyond to provide excellent service. Right now with all the craziness going on it just reminds me how great a company HEB is and how hard all of their employees have been working. Thank you thank you thank you! H-E-B Supermarkets are like the best supermarkets in San Antonio. These places are big and carry a ton of products and variety. They are like the Publix of Florida. Not always the cheapest but many times they are, especially when you buy their specials. The stores are well organized with long aisles. Just take your cart and walk up and down each aisle stocking up in all your needs and go home. If I lived in San Antonio, this will probably be the place I will be doing most of my shopping at. read more

This consistently is one of the worst HEBs. The store manager says the location is the problem...it's not easily accessible on the bus route. I just know I have a problem with nearly every interaction here. They're always out of something you need. Their butcher hours change based on staffing. Their delivery service always delivers spoiled/dated food. Their pharmacy didn't let me know my medicine was made in China and included carcinogens. I've loved their stores in North Austin and Dripping. You'd think their most expensive location would be better managed. read more

Someone compared this location to a scene in You Got Mail, it's more like Stepford Wives. Shopping with my (black) foster daughter brought more glances than I could count. We weren't asked to sample anything and the guy passing out wine samples avoided eye contact altogether. No, I don't want your unoaked chardonnay. They didn't bag my groceries and rolled their eyes when the coupons came out. Keep your judgment to yourself, Mister Cashier. Still, no parking. The Turkey & Mozzarela Melt hott sandwich is my favorite of their offerings and only get the chipotle aioli on it if you do not mind a little oil on your fingers. So, Hoa has me thinkin' now... she said that "If you spend a dollar in a grocery store on non-local food, only 10 cents returns to the local economy. If you spend a dollar with your local farmer, 95 cents returns to the local economy." So, even if Mr. Butts is a Texan and likes to "keep it local", if the specific FOOD I buy at this "local" grocery store is not local, only 10% is returned to the local economy? That's LOCO. I love my HEB. And not because it's practically across the street from me and will probably increase the value of my home, although those are two perfectly valid reasons on their own. No, it's simply an awesome HEB. Some highlights: --It's a manageable size. The Albertsons there before wasn't very big, so I was a bit worried. Silly me. I should've known HEB wouldn't disappoint, especially not in Westlake. It doesn't have that huge, overwhelming feel of some other HEBs, but it still has everything I need. And then some. --Parking really isn't bad. At first, yeah. But since then, it hasn't been a problem. I went today, a busy Sunday afternoon, and found a close spot right away. --There is rarely a wait to check out. I mean, I generally have NO wait at all. I overheard some checkers saying that they think they overhired. That, my friends, is not something I will ever complain about when it comes to grocery stores. --Bread samples. Yes. Lots of bread samples. --It sells Miles of Chocolate. If you haven't had that, you're seriously missing out on some ooey gooey chocolate perfection. And no, I'm not just saying that because Miles is my neighbor and he sometimes gives me freebies. Absolutely not. I could go on and on, but you get the point. I was enjoying the beautiful clear day yesterday and found myself driving on 360 and taking in the view of Westlake Hills. As my stomach suddenly rumbled, I remembered that the groceries I had at home included a half-empty artichoke tapenade and a single bolillo. I needed to go grocery shopping, so I figured I'd check out the HEB out in Westlake and see what the fuss was about. I say fuss because earlier in November, my friend had mentioned a palatial HEB out in Westlake, complete with valet parking and Persian rugs--and that it was just to die for. Forgive me for being skeptical, but alot of people hear the word "Westlake" and immediately every rich person cliche fires off in their head. As I suspected, the place was ultimately just another HEB. Walking in, they did have the prepared food counter that one sees at the HEB Central Markets, but the selection was only a fraction of the original. Nothing stood out in particular. Their produce was high quality, but so is the produce at my default HEB up north. There was a wonderful selection of cheeses, and I found a Brie and a Danish bleu that looked really appetizing. I stopped at the deli, and once again, the selection was the same as usual. One difference I noticed was a cooler that had presliced meats and cheeses straight from the deli that you could search through if you weren't too picky and wanted to avoid the deli line. The cakes and bakery area was amazing. Glancing over, they had delicious looking cakes that are a little more ornate than usual. I noticed a lot them with shaved chocolate and shaved coconut. Yum! Another feature they had was the woman with the microphone preparing a dish live for customers; yesterday it was some sort of pot roast. I had a sample and it did indeed taste good. The prices are no higher or lower than other HEBs. The selection on some items though were surprisingly sparse. The biggest downside to this HEB is that it is CROWDED. The bread aisle was a hot mess and some lady rudely told me to get away from a produce scale I didn't even know I was in front of. The aisles are narrower and everything is kind of cramped. If this isn't a big deal then don't worry about it, but I was feeling just a tad claustrophobic. All the registers were open, which moved people through as fast as possible. They had curbside grocery-loading (I guess that was the mythical "valet"). All in all it was a good grocery experience, but there is absolutely nothing special about it. Persian rugs were conspicuously absent. It's just another run of the mill HEB in a nice area of town. read more

This HEB could just as well be the set for the real housewives of Westlake. The salad bar is great. The produce is good. All they need to get are organic Fuji apples. Generally, store is stocked and clean, everyone is super helpful, and parking is great! Overall, Super nice HEB, but I had to call out MARK, my cashier today who was FABULOUS! Super sweet, engaging, and fast, and, when my popcorn kernels bag exploded everywhere at the register, he was super sweet, laughed about it, cleaned up the atomic bomb of kernels super fast, finished my order, and sent someone to get a new bag! I Kept apologizing, but he kept saying, "Don't worry about it - it keeps our job interesting." Thanks for always working hard, HEB friends :) read more
