I've shopped HEB in store often and have never had a bad experience. I decided to try their grocery delivery and am very disappointed. All the items that I ordered was delivered just fine. However, HEB charged my debit card $41.02 for their driver's tip. I did not authorize this transaction with a driver tip. I just called to get this issue resolved and was hoping for a refund. The first person I talked to was very friendly and understanding of my concern. Although, he had to transfer me to a specific department. The woman I talked with talked in circles around me and told me that there was nothing she could do since the delivery fee and driver's tip are included automatically in the final cost. I've never heard of that before, I've always been given the option at checkout to opt out if a delivery tip, or customize your tip. I spent $427 on groceries and they just decided to charge me 10% of my order. This poorly handled situation has led to me having to stuck with Walmart for my families future grocery delivery needs. read more

The store does not value its customers. Was waiting in line when the "checker" put a closed sign up. I asked what am I supposed to do since i was in line for 5 minutes at this particular lane. He said, "go in the line over there". Management was full of excuses but no apologies. I really have never felt so undervalued as a customer as I did this day in this HEB. Remodeling the existing older store in Taylor to add additional items. Unfortunately, they are doing so by making aisles narrower and higher. This is made worse by HEB personal shoppers clogging the aisles with their oversized buggies. Maybe personal shopping orders should only be filled during off hours, not during peak hours. read more

I am writing to make a complaint about a gentleman with blond hair and a blue polo from the Taylor TX location. After checking out this morning, I was followed half way to my car and asked if I had purchased a watermelon that was in my cart. After telling him I had he asked for my receipt. I gave him my receipt and pointed out the item. No explanation from this gentleman as to why or anything of that nature. There were several other people leaving the store as I was that did not get asked for a receipt and I am not used to this location having door checkers, or as I have stated before, following me half way to my car. Mind you, our basket was filled with other items, yet this is the only one you ask about? I have shopped at this location for decades and never had this happen to me and am not sure if this was motivated by race or if he was a part of loss prevention. I love H‑E‑B, seriously. I am the biggest fan. But this is the absolute worst H‑E‑B I've ever been to. The customer service is trash, the lines are always insanely long, they never seem to have enough employees on staff and even the managers don't know what they're doing. Every time I check out here I have issues with the cashiers being nasty. If you're a Taylor resident, just make the drive to hutto. This H‑E‑B is not worth it. read more

Went to this location because we only needed a few items and I didn't want to go to the big store. Got "fresh" tortillas that were so dry, they ripped when I heated them up for and had them for dinner. I also needed apples and most of the crates were empty or had very few apples to choose from, most with bruises or holes. I will probably give this store another chance, but I was very disappointed. I received my delivery order yesterday and was not happy with a couple of items. I called and spoke with the new delivery/ curbside manager, Mohammed, who was extremely nice and helpful. Within a couple of hours, he had the items redelivered and even upgraded my flower order for free! Made my day! read more

Far smaller and more limited selection than the H-E-B's you find in Austin or the other surrounding suburbs. You're just slightly further out here but the store does not rise up to the quality of the current H-E-B standard in my opinion. The selection is just slightly more than you'd find at Wal Mart, for example, which is not good. I hope this store gets a true remodel and can expand some to grow with the continued expansion of the outer-Austin area. read more

I've tried. I've really, REALLY tried to continue my love affair with HEB but this location makes it really hard. It's in a small town, yes. It's a small store, yes. It's consistently out of items that are specifically HEB. I love their salsa in the fresh vegetable section. However because of the times of the day that I can get there don't seem to be around the stocking times, they have been out of the "mild" each time for darn near four months now. Also, getting fresh tortillas is a hit or miss. I can only get HEB's love dip on Valentine's Day and they never carry the specialty burgers that other HEB's have. Plus, the produce never last more than 2 days before going bad. This store really is like the bastard step child of HEB. Build it (bigger) and they will come! read more

We have been doing curbside grocery pick up at this HEB in Taylor and have been amazed at the excellent service we have received. We live in Austin and getting pick up times here is hard but we found that by driving to Taylor we could get faster pick up times. It is a lovely drive. The orders have always been correct and they have only had to make substitutions on a couple of items and they were perfectly acceptable. I would highly reccomend this HEB if you need timely pick up times for curbside grocery pickup during these very stressful times in the pandemic. This is the worst HEB I've ever been to - their management staff must be hated by the employees because the attitude of the employees is just pathetic. They don't MOVE when you're shopping and treat you like you're not there to give the store business! They're rude and I've reported this many times online but nothing ever changes. I pulled an expired soymilk out of the cooler while there was an employee stocking and asked him if I was seeing correctly that the date was over a month old, and he said, Yeah, and took it from me with no other comment. Best store in town to buy groceries. The staff is ultra friendly and has that small town feel where everyone is nice to you for no absolute reason. Its always clean and i cant complaint about the rush because they usually have enough people at the check-outs. I've now been shopping at this HEB for 6 months and it seriously gets worse every time I go... :/ I have small children and the best time for me to shop is after my husband is home from work and the kids are in bed, which means I'm usually not getting to the store until between 8-10pm. At this location, those are 'prime stocking hours' and while I spend an easy extra 20 minutes in the store navigating around said stockers, they are ALWAYS out of at least 1/4 of the items on my list like pull-ups, fresh chicken breast (I'm not joking...), mandarin oranges, body wash, ect., just to name a few. I honestly hate this location. If it weren't for the distance to other locations from my house, I would never shop here. read more

This H-E-B had the worst managerial service tonight that I have ever experienced at a grocery store, let alone an H-E-B which is supposed to be known as a customer service centered company. While checking out at a self-service station, a coupon was not ringing up for an item. The attendant walked over and attempted to ring it up again, but the item rang up as ineligible. The attendant could see nothing wrong with the coupon, yet it would still not ring up so he called the manager over. The manager read the coupon aloud and said it was not the right item on the coupon, but the way it was written was vague and it did not specify which type of item was allowed and which wasn't. My mother, being a teacher, tried to say that it wasn't written correctly, even if we weren't going to be getting the discount so that others wouldn't make the same mistake. The manager persisted saying it wasn't written incorrectly and that "he is an English buff himself." He then said they would not honor the coupon because it was out of date anyway. We hadn't noticed that the coupons were out of date since there were two stacks of coupons on the end cap so we just gave up on the coupon, the manager left, and we proceeded to checkout. After checking out, we were waiting for a family member to return to the checkout area and the manager approaches us again. Matthew, an employee of two years wearing a badge stating "where people matter", came back up to us with our coupon and shoved it towards us saying "This coupon is expired! We don't even have this on the shelf anymore. I went back over there and checked and it's not there. Where'd you get this?" I was appalled that a manager would react like this so we walked across the store, picked up the two large stacks of coupons, returned them and the item to the manager, and took our business elsewhere. read more

As per usual with this location, I showed up to get my Mom's birthday cake and for second year in a row, the cake was not done. I would not recommend ever ordering from this bakery. We are both handicapped and have bought all our food and other supplies here for years. a lot of the employees are known by name and are very nice people. However management in departments is all but non existent, what there is, is poorly orchestrated. I realize that due to this current Covid-19 there would be panic buying, hoarding and yes price gouging. I saw this a couple of days ago, What I did not expect and surely will not forget was having canned foods taken from my cart, there was no sign to tell me there was limit. Truthfully we only had the same amount as we buy each week. I was "allowed" four cans of beans, so I guess that will have to feed the two of us this week. read more

I've been shopping at this H-E-B for three years now and have only seen a decline in everything from expired foods, to their gas station pumping being incredibly slow, to their brand new chip readers sucking ass! You shouldn't have to hold your card in to get it to read. I am tired of buying things that have expired! I shouldn't have to double check the date on everything. I have purchased bad coconuts filled with mold on 2 occasions, a bag of rice that was stinky and wet! What kind of quality control do you guys do? Me thinks none! read more

This certainly isn't the best HEB out there. I'll start with the good first. The cashiers are friendly as with most HEB stores. Clean bathrooms. Business center is willing to go the extra mile to help customers with concerns. I don't I have a problem with the size of the store as previous Yelpers have mentioned. But that's me personally. Onto the bad, seems to be more expensive than any other HEB I have been too. Short handed on cashiers/registers open and I shop daytime hours. Usually have to bag your own groceries. I shop at Wal-Mart across the street because it's cheaper prices and if I have to bag my own groceries at either place or wait for a cashier at least I'm saving money by going to Wal-Mart. I've tried so hard to like this HEB for a while but today was the last straw. My wife is great and using coupons both digital and in store and at every HEB they work, well except for this one. At the check out she tried using her digital coupons, which get removed when they are used or expired. The 2 digital ones we were trying to use did not go through, the cashier called over the manager and we were taken to the customer service register to check why they weren't working. We were 100% sure we had the right items but this manager (Laura) was rude and condescending from the start, insinuating we were trying to play a fast one on her... I'm not sure how considering these were digital coupons that get removed from our app coupon basket when they are used or expired, I guess she never actually used the app. If it wasn't for the managers rudeness, we would have probably just left, but when she implied we were just trying to take advantage of her, probably using expired coupons! We said, you know what take the items back. To which she replied, well I'll help you just this once. Are you serious?!? Just this once your willing to help out a loyal customer with an actual problem?!? Won't be going back to this HEB despite putting up with other issues at this location. read more

When this store opened it was a pretty good HEB. Now it has been remodeled and "improved" so it is not much more than a replica of the old HEB Pantry we had in Rockdale years ago. I have been driving to this store in Taylor since the Rockdale store closed because I did not like the Wal Mart in Rockdale. Now there isn't much difference. The last remodel and changes in stocking have left the store with very limited selection. The primary answer received when looking for items is "Oh we don't stock that anymore since the changes." read more

I live outside of Elgin but there are times I need to make a trip into Taylor. The HEB is always a mistake here. There seems to be solicitors in the parking lot asking for money every time I go there. I went into the store tonight to buy a lotto ticket to find the selection I wanted was broken. I had to wait on the slowest customer service to get me help in getting my money refunded. The old bag who helped me gave me my money back but told me I had to get back into the long line to get the ticket. This store has gone ghetto. Never again will I go back here! read more

Communication is lacking. A few times I have gone there, expecting a refill to be filled after ordering over the phone, finding it has not been filled and excuses made. HEB doesn't care because they are high volume and they have a monopoly on food shopping here in Taylor, so they know most people will come here anyway. I'm going to check out CVS and see whether they are any better. Just please tell me on the phone that it's not worth it to come down. We all have busy lives and I don't have time for this. Do I have to ask for people's names every time I call for something? HEB, I think if you pay people more and manage better, they may actually care about their job and try to communicate. Unacceptable behavior has made it impossible for me to shop at this store. Time after time I witness belittling and bullying of cashiers and other front end workers. I used to think the workers weren't helpful, but now I understand that management is telling them to be this way. Today I watched a girl get yelled at (in front of myself and other customers) in a very mean and belittling way, just because she was showing a customer where something was located. We all know when workers are unhappy, quality goes down, so I'm thinking the quality at this HEB is way below average. read more

Love this store, but if you need more than groceries you may need to plan on more stops. The produce is good and the meats are as well. Only problem is it's a small store so if I need a lot I drive to Round Rock, HEB Plus. Still if I only need a few things, I love this store! read more
