I hardly ever come to HEB anymore. It used to be my store of choice, but now... it's the store I go to when I can't find something at my current store of choice. HEB's logo is "Here, Everything's Better" and when they say that, they mean that they think their brand of everything is better. It's getting so hard to find name brand items or even off-brand-but-not-HEB-brand products... and tell me why is it that some of the HEB brands are MORE expensive than name brands? I'll still give them 3 stars because the store seems clean, I like the meal simple meals that make dinner time easier, and the pharmacy is easy and convenient... but I don't know if I'd recommend HEB over other places. read more

I ordered a birthday cake for my daughter's 19th birthday, the cake looked terrible! The image was bumpy, the writing was one long word, the color of the writing was smudged on the picture. I've been to better HEBs that were fully stocked. I didn't really want to come to this one, but it was closest one to my home and I didn't wanna drive too far out to the one I like more on a work night. Today, I came in and noticed that the supplement selection was vast. I was able to locate two vitamins that I scooped up. I specifically came in for liquid aminos also and to my surprise their Asian selection was severely lacking. They didn't have near as much products that I was used to seeing at Kroger's on FM 2351, HEB on Blackhawk, and Walmart on Dixie Farm Rd. I was disappointed by that. Instead I got coconut aminos and some dumpling sauce with the main ingredient tamari. So I'll see how that goes. The store was clean with staff members walking around minding their own business. They were selling mini gardenias in the winter, they were bone dry and needed water as the leaves were wilting. All for $12. The prices of the items in store wasn't as affordable. The toothpaste cost me $3.97 for a tiny tube. Geez, I remember years ago it was cheaper, but of course not the fault of HEB or could it be? Strangely, the body wash was cheaper which matched it small bottle. Go figure. The store is a bit of a labyrinth too; the health aisle is in the middle, but they have bulk healthy items near the bakery, then supplements in the far entrance where the cash registers are. I feel that they should be in the same area. The cashier was nice; she applied some coupons to decrease the grocery bill of five items. Let me start with the positive! This is my HEB and I have shopped here since they built it so it's my place and I love it BUT the one dept that can't seem to find a happy employee ever is the bakery. This is third time I have gone in to buy a cake and was treated like I was a bother, so in keeping with consistency this afternoon I went in to order a cake for my sons Eagle Scout ceremony and when I stepped up to the counter there was an older woman working back there and I said to her when she looked up "I need to place an order for a cake, please ma'am" her response "oh my God" I mean I get it, you're busy, but we all get interrupted at our jobs and I feel like you should expect it when you're working face to face with the public. Anyway, there is unprofessional and then there is this lady here because when I told her not to worry about it, I would go order it somewhere else, this heifer was still talking crap as I walked away. My suggestion to the Fairmont HEB would be to find her a job bagging bread, in the back somewhere, because not one person wants to spend money at a business with people like her as the face of your dept....still love the rest of y'all though! read more

They provide the freshest meats and vegetables available in the area. They also have a great selection of in-house brands that easily compare to the name brands at a much reduced cost. The store always has employees there to help, and there is always the convenience of cashiers when you have a lot of groceries. Love my HEB! read more

The older lady working in the bakery is very rude and saw me at the counter, instead of asking me if I needed help she walked to the back and completely ignored me. I'm not from Texas but People in Texas can't stop talking about H-E-B H-E-B to be honest I'm not that impressed I'm having a hard time between 2 and 3 stars. Hears the good first. The produce, seafood, meat had a nice selection of the greasy stuff there was a few fruits that's I've never seen ate hard to find the bad news. Everything else. I went in looking for 5 things, nothing crazy. Croissants, loaf of bread and a few other things. What I found was 4 of the 5 things they didn't carry so I got different name brands, all the stuff was a lot more expensive. In some cases .50 to .75 cent more say then Kroger. This store is more for special shoppers looking for that special diet more so than the person trying to make a sandwich read more

You know the funny part about life and grocery shopping: is that you can almost be shoulder to shoulder with someone and they can not even lift up their heads or open their mouths to say hello, hi or good morning. Where are the friendly people at. And this is a main reason why when I check I go through a maned register. I love people and love talking to them. Glad I'm not Trump and be working there, I'd be using his favorite words " you're fired ". Having to have mobility help in my walking I need a scooter / cart. 90% of the time I go there the mobile buggies are out sitting in the parking lot as many push buggies. Oh my gosh. I'm sad to say that the more I shop here the more disenfranchised I become to this particular location. It's one thing for the store to be full at prime-time, rush hour shopping at 4 pm on a Sunday. That I understand and can deal with. However, that is NOT the time for the manager to be squating down, taking up half the aisle to maintenance the shelves. No lie. People could not get around that man, and homey was clueless! He was annoyed to have to stand up and get out of the way! 4 pm on a Sunday is also not the time to stock the shelves. I'm not exaggerating when I say the store was full of customers. The employees, all high school kids, we're literally taking up aisles with carts and pallets of items to be stocked! What? Who thought that was a good time to stock the shelves? Because whoever said that was a good idea needs to be fired. It was a mess. Customers were running into each other. Employees were in the way. And no one was moving because of the pallets of merchandise in the way. The meat section was a joke. A boy was literally adding ANOTHER pallet of boxes to the pallet already there? Was one pallet not enough? I'm also gonna throw out there, that employees were setting up kiosks to give tastings. What? Seriously? Now!?!? This isn't Sam's club, nor is it the new Clear Lake location, and this store literally does not have the space for this. I think I'll just start shopping at the Clear Lake location. It's bigger and there's more space for the employees to take up space with useless activities during peak shopping hours. read more

I'm really beginning to become a fan of HEB. I love closely examining the yellow tags to free items that I may be interested in. Their samples always make sense, and the bread is always reliable. The customer service is outstanding. Isn't this everything a person looks for in a grocery store? I also love some of the specialty dishes/items that are available at a reasonable price. I much prefer HEBs to expensive Kroger and exploitive WalMart. This seems to be my happy medium. I haven't tried the gas, but I still need time to warm up to groceries, and I'm not sure about all HEB brands. I may still need to do some research about sourcing and varying ingredients of HEB products. read more

I probably goto H-E-B more than I should but I definitely enjoy going grocery shopping with my little one. Said no one ever. On days I get to go alone (which is very rare) I get a little giddy just because it doesn't take me longer than two hours to get everything on the list just to end up missing a few items. New in town and trying to find "that" grocery store to make my mainstay. This one was pretty decent, a solid "3/5". So far I've been very impressed with their produce....always looks fresh and beautiful. Meat I've noticed is a little over-priced but that could be because I am not exactly from the area. I think customer service on the floor could be improved for sure. The cashiers are very nice and friendly but the employees on the stores, stocking shelves, etc seem to be just as lost as I am! They didn't have any idea about certain products like wine, bread, etc. Overall, pretty good though and not a bad choice. read more

This H.E.B location is the main one I go to and order delivery from. I never have trouble shopping I am always in and out even on busy days. I buy my weekly food from this location because they have everything I need and I can restock easy. It also has a better meat/ organic selection than the location closest to me! As for delivery who ever picks my food I am never dissatisfied, and a big thing my eggs always arrive perfect haha! read more

I really love grocery shopping at HEB. This location can get VERY busy after work and on the weekends. But I feel that they have a better selection than Kroger. My boyfriend only wants to shop at Kroger. I agree with him that some items are cheaper at Kroger and we do tend to save money with the Kroger app and our Kroger card. But I love HEB's selection. So I don't mind paying a little more. I wish HEB had some kind of discount card to offer customers though. Some of my favorite items to purchase at HEB is their Tomatillo guacamole, fresh herbs (mainly basil or dill), fresh tortillas, HEB brand coffee (Houston Blend, San Antonio Blend), Texas Tamales and many more! They also have a great selection of wines and beers. Like I said, this store gets packed at certain hours. Another thing I don't love is the person with the microphone near the deli. It can get really loud. The cashiers are always super friendly. I feel that they always excel in customer service or at least in my experiences there. read more

They were able to switch my pickup order to a delivery order when I called and said that my husband and I both developed a stomach bug the night before and weren't able to make it. It was quick and easy being on the phone with them, and my order was here only an hour after my pickup was supposed to be (even though their online delivery times were booked until later that evening). My favorite store. Have always enjoyed doing my grocery shopping here. Have to say, Sunday when I went to the store to pick up a couple of items for a new recipe, the soups I was looking for were nowhere to be found. When I got to register, I did not get the usual " did you find everything you were looking for?" question. So, I kindly told the cashier I did not find the soups I was looking for. Her reply to me was "Well sometimes that happens." Well, damn, I know that because it just happened to me. She had just told the customer in front of me how many hours she had worked. So, I have to assume she was too tired to ask how my shopping experience had been. When she saw me just looking at her, she then asked me what kind of soups I was looking for, I told her Cheddar Cheese and French Onion, her reply was "hmmm, don't know why we are out of them." Alright, let's get this straight, HEB does NOT have a great beer selection and they do NOT have great produce. This is Texas, so for Houston standards, it is the best grocery store chain in the greater metro area. They do have exceptional quality, prices, and selection of dry goods, refrigerated and freezer items. The meat is decent with $1/lb choices and grass fed beef as well. The customer service is top notch. The prices are unbeatable. This is the only place that I shop. read more

The deli/ seafood/bakery people are nice, attentive and never give me the "what do you want?" look so common among other customer service personnel. The manger today is a complete idiot, very technology dumb. I've been using the partner card on my Apple Watch at this location for at least a year with no issues, but today the manager Louis R states to me that they cannot scan the card from a mobile device!! I have no idea why everyone is giving this place such good reviews. I am wondering if I even went to the same grocery store. Their organic selection is pretty sub par, their prices are higher than the nearby Kroger, and their employees did not stand out to me. Perhaps it was an off day. The guy at the seafood counter just stared at you. He gave us our mahi mahi without uttering a single word. They also make it more difficult than necessary to use digital coupons at HEB. I had $5 in digital coupons loaded onto my account I pressed the wrong button, and I asked the cashier if he could go back so I could re-enter my number. He just looked at me and said he couldn't. So bizarre. He didn't offer to do it manually. He offered no solution. That is not good customer service to me. read more

This is a awesome grocery store. There are always free samples which is great to me. Most of the samples are actually HEB products which lets you decide if you prefer there name brand over top corporate brands. The live kitchen in the middle of the store is not only delicious but always has great deals on whatever they are cooking that day. The chefs are always giving me good ideas of what to do or use when cooking even if it's not the dishes they are preparing that day. I love HEB! I really do and always have. Not five stars because I've been to better HEBs, but still believe that this is the best grocery store in the area! This location is really nice and has great selection and wonderful people! During the week you're going to find that they have more variety and options that haven't been picked through. The produce section is always fuller and you have top choice of non-bruised apples on weekdays. However, they don't do quite as many tastings on random Tuesday mornings, ya know? The weekends though can be really fun, but don't expect top pick of anything because it is crowded as can be and people pick everything down to the shelves. The reason I say it's fun is because there are more samples and they always have someone in a tasting booth with a microphone serving up awesome food and wine tastings with a great attitude and with recipes to boot. The HEB brand products are also really good and 9 times out of 10, I'm happy to pay less for the same quality and go with HEB brand products. I always have friendly chats with the people who work here and the HEB is big and has tons of products - WAY WAY WAY more than the HEB in Deer Park, but still small enough that it feels like a local grocery store and not a Wal-Mart. And I will say, their beer selection isn't the best but they are trying and it is getting better! read more
