I needed a special arrangement for my wife's birthday and went to Kroger (I know, grocery store flowers). On a Sunday morning, LiLi in the flower dept. fixed a beautiful arrangement. A beautiful vase, at least 5 different types of flowers and a bow she made just for it. If you need something special at a fraction of the cost, go see LiLi in the flower dept. read more

I made the mistake of coming to this location after I noticed Aldi was closing at 8:00 PM. They were severely understaffed. The aisles were close together, but groceries weren't easy to be found. I had to search high and low to locate things on my list due to the organization of the store and I'm so used to shopping at the location in Friendswood. The store prices were pricier than the location in Friendswood. I didn't care for that. The Asian/International aisle was popping because they had everything under the sun for spring roll preparations. I found my Maggi sauce, sweet soy sauce, and canned bean sprouts. However, when it came time to check out; there was a line from the front of the store to the bakery aisle for the self-checkout. There was long lines for the regular lines. It was only three workers holding down the whole store. Now, that's ridiculous. I met with this very kind self-checkout employee. She was very sweet and helped me clean the self-checkout kiosk since it wasn't ringing up my items properly and kept giving me issues each time I scanned my groceries. After this experience, I'll be avoiding this location like the plague. read more

A good Kroger in the area! I had to utilize the money center and the ladies were nice and they made the transaction nice and smooth! I like the grocery sections as well! Good foods are there for you and the environment is nice! Come visit and get your products Cheers read more

The managers of this store should have their pictures taken and shown to board members and stock holders as the reason for the lack of shoppers. Waited 15 minutes for a floral worker that never showed up. Went to the bathroom that had literally urine all the way from the Urinals to the door. There is clearly no supervision here this is worse than a gas station at this point just close this store so it can be a spirit next year. Absolutely ridiculous and disgusting they should be embarrassed they are in charge of this. read more

Kroger - Grocery Near Me - Houston, Texas

KROGER does not give the sale ,or coupon price at the register a lot, or most of the tims.I always catch them ringing products up wrong, double charging, or worse, I have to get back with receipt and get credited, a refund at the service desk. They just did it Sunday and I have to go back for a refund. This happens at the El Camino Store 77062, the Alvin Store 77511 and the Pearland Store on Broadway almost all the time. I believe it is Corpoate policy and training they give the checkout girls and guys to increase profits. It just happens too often to be negligence, or stupidity from the clerks.I work in a business where we pick up on stuff like that, patterns.I have training on this and am more aware than the average person at the Store THIS IS BY DESIGN .KROGER CORPORATE IS FROM UP NORTH.NO MORE NEED BE SAID! read more

The meat/seafood department at this location....what is going on? Every time I run here to pickup something, the meat section always has old, discolored raw meat that is often poorly packaged ...over the last 3 or 4 years, I've brought this up to staff and nothing's ever been done. The only thing I enjoy about this location is it's a proximity to my neighborhood.. read more

This store is about to close and if it's not- it should. It has gone so far down hill, I could write a novel about all the bad things about this location. Today was my last visit ever, as the self checkout smelled like feces. Not joking- I had to hold my breath and tell the attendant it may need cleaning. read more

So, in our quest to get away from Walmart and their crappy service and perpetually empty shelves, we decided to try Kroger. I have to say I was really impressed. Sure, I've run in here for a couple things but I've never actually tried to buy my whole week's grocery list, assuming that it would be too expensive. Well, I was wrong and man am I glad about that! It's such a clean store and the people are really friendly and helpful; most everything we bought was either on sale with the Kroger card or marked down to a "new low price", so price wise it was pretty comparable to Walmart. I did notice that some of the health and beauty items were more expensive, so I may still make a Walmart run for that type of stuff. I think they have a great selection of items, although there were a few things they didn't carry that I was a little bummed about (Jennie-O frozen ground turkey and Weight Watchers yogurt specifically) but I have a feeling that we will be coming here a lot more often for our grocery shopping. read more

Everything u need is here, they have a good healthy lifestyle section with lots of options. The sushi here is really pretty good, not much of a discount from the local restaurants but a good deal if you want it to go. Decent beer selection for a grocer. read more

Kroger - Grocery Near Me - Houston, Texas

Been here a few times now for simple things. The first time we needed some sunblock before heading to the beach. We were next to a CVS at the time but the prices were crazy. When we got to Kroger we found out that the price of two containers was still cheaper than the prices at CVS. It's crazy! We also found some schiltterbahn gift cards that saved us about 3 bucks per person off of admission. It's a small Kroger but very clean. read more

Nice and quiet at 5pm. Decent selection of flowers, but sadly a lack-luster selection of car cleaning merchandise. So the story is, I was on my way to a date, noticed my car could use a quick once over and I wanted to pick up flowers. All went well, but I didn't get much time to formulate an opinion of the Kroger. Seems nice... read more

Andrew was super helpful in helping me find what I was looking for!!! He went to the moon & back helping me out this evening :)

I visited on a Sunday afternoon and there was only one entrance to the store. Once I got inside I realized that all of the baskets were outside scattered across the parking lot. They were not that busy that they couldn't get someone to bring the baskets in. At the very least, maybe put a sign up that says to grab your own basket from the parking lot before coming in. I normally don't rate stores, but this is the second Sunday in a row that I have dealt with this issue. I can't be the only one seeing this as an issue. read more

19 people in line!!! 19!!!! Hire some employees!!! And, pay decently. It shouldn't take this long to buy 4 products.

I definitely needed to update this review! In the previous review I was annoyed because this Kroger did not have anything I was looking for and I find that to be sad if a grocery store only carries processed junk. However over the last couple of years this store has changed a lot! I went in to Kroger late one night because this location is 24 hours and I was shocked. I came in for a couple of things and noticed they had added a natural foods section which is quite large. They also have a lot better product than was previously available. I still make my own pet food and I had been going to HEB to get my own food as well, but HEB has been slowly getting rid of their vegan sections and now it is becoming hard to find food that tastes good and is good for me. Now I go to Kroger for my needs! Kroger has a lot more food I can eat and it is clearly marked as being vegan, organic, containing any kind of allergen or just health concerns. They have a lot of meat substitutes and I am so grateful for those choices. Now I can make vegan chili, vegan hot dogs, vegan chorizo, vegan tacos, etc. The only thing I want to be able to get at Kroger that I can only get at HEB is canned Jackfruit so I can make pulled jackfruit sliders and jackfruit barbecue. For petfood I still buy meat because the pets I have are true obligate carnivores (which means the only thing they should ever have in their diet is meat). For those of you who are curious - they are pet ferrets. Unlike dogs and cats who can have carbs in their diets, ferrets should not. I have to be able to go somewhere that offers a large variety of poultry products like chicken necks, gizzards, hearts, wings, etc. I still think Kroger is lacking on the variety, but they offer enough items for me to get by giving my ferrets the best nutrition I can make. Anyway now I definitely recommend going to Kroger and I am excited to see they change for their customer's needs. read more

Shameful, I know: bestowing such a high rating on a chain - and a national one, at that! But Kroger - and particularly at this location - was my lifeline the last four years I lived in the area. Here's the bottom line: a decent line of whole and natural foods; sushi kiosk; Starbuck's store inside; good weekly specials; an overall exceptional "private" label; a hot lunch counter; nice employees. And to top it all off, the store is clean and well-organized. Wish I could load this store into the matter transporter and zap it into my new neighborhood in San Antonio! read more

I affectionately refer to this Kroger as "Murder Kroger" because a murder was recently committed across the street (mainly to differentiate from the other Kroger my family goes to, on Space Center). Anyway, this is my preferred Kroger in Clear Lake because the selection is great, the store is easy to navigate, and they have good hours. read more

I am very pleased with this Kroger's. It's always clean, the employees are always helpful and friendly. The produce is very fresh; their meat and cheese deli department is great and they've added a soup/salad bar. They always have a good selection of everything and most things, I like the Kroger brand better than the so-called namebrand. Also, their bakery and fresh items are delicious! read more

This Kroger has a good variety of items and is convenient BUT it is messy and dirty. I went in yesterday and the entrance was filthy with trash all over the floor and the floor was filthy as soon as you walk in to get a basket. I turned to go in by the courtesy booth and there are baskets always full of junk to be returned or tossed out whatever it's a bad place to stage that activity it looks like crap. The other night the lines were easily 8-10 people deep with only one checker and the self check out open and the service manager and manager on duty were by the courtesy booth talking the one checker was even bagging her own groceries as well as checking this is unacceptable the service mgr and manager could clearly see the situation. I finally said do you see your lines and then they came out to help customers but a customer should not have to say that. read more

This is my go-to Kroger and most of the time I shop here (fuel points). I am seriously beginning to rethink that as I do not want to be approached or sold various items I do not need. I would like to shop in peace and get what I NEED and get out. I am not looking to buy a $100 bamboo pillow at my grocery store. Please stop with the solicitations. I enjoy this store so much but being hounded to purchase something I do not want is a big turnoff for me. That being said, the employee's are super friendly and very nice. Yesterday they opened lanes to accommodate the crowds, which is always appreciated. The seafood section smells a little strong but for the most part it is organized and clean. read more

If wasn't for the fresh produce and variety i wouldn't have given it 2 stars- last wk they have a new checkout system - cashier is trying her best to troubleshoot - MOD was in the front but absolutely nothing to assist- all the shopping carts were in the parking lot filled - basically you could feel the tension in the air . I understand that as a GM or assistant there maybe more important things but once in awhile it is "OK" to get ur hands alittle dirty - ( as a DO - there are times when i have to roll up my sleeves and assist the Team to get back on their feet - then reflect on all the things that could have been done better) I waited about 10mins at checkout - while a line piled behind all the other guests waiting for service - People are always worried about their schedules and who didn't come in - what time they leave - mainly in the front - you never hear that in any other Dept. And honestly I get it - but I really don't want to hear that - if they want to talk amongst themselves than it should be in a break room. I stopped going here for a bit - and chose to drive an additional 5-8miles to the HEB on gulf freeway or Kroger in friendswood . read more

This isn't even the closest grocery store to my house, but I always make the drive to shop here. They have a great selection of natural/organic foods, and even a halfway decent international section! A quick shout out to Kim the Deli Manager at Kroger on El Camino for being so AWESOME! She told us about some low price specials & introduced us to Antone's Kosher Dill Chips & Bread & Butter pickles! They are so DELICIOUS! We always enjoy shopping at this spacious Kroger's - especially when the friendly staff recommends new brands to try & great promotions the store is currently offering! The store was busy but not only did Kim help us navigate the Deli area, we saw her later as she even checked us out & assisted with the speedy bagging of our groceries! AMAZING! Kim is WONDERFUL & I just wanted to share her AWESOMENESS with the world! Thank you, Kim! read more

Coming from Colorado, I used to frequent King Soopers which is a child company of Kroger. I moved to San Antonio where the major grocery stores were HEB and Walmart. I don't like either and when I moved to Houston I was thrilled to see a different grocery store. I have been frequenting this Kroger for several months and each time I dislike it more and more. First off, their produce is atrocious half of the time. I used to work in a produce department at a Super Target and they were very strict about having organic produce in totally separate areas from the regular produce and if something was bad, they'd throw it out, no questions asked. At this Kroger, I often find moldy and squishy fruits and vegetables that should've just been tossed and never put out for customers to see. Let alone how many other items that nasty old piece has touched and you took home to eat. Gross. Second, like most people, I build my meals for the week based on what's on sale. When I arrive, no matter what day of the week it is, this Kroger never fails to disappoint me. I always, always, always walk out without at least one item on my list because they didn't stock enough. If I go to the customer service area and stand in line for a minimum of 15 minutes, I'm told I can't receive a rain check if there's still time for the ad to be up. I'm not making multiple trips for a few items, that defeats the purpose. Lastly, their customer service is so-so. I've had to look for someone in order to ask about additional stock on an item (surprise, surprise) and there's no one to be found most of the time. If I do find someone, and I start to approach them, they walk away. I've had young teenage cashiers cussing and cracking jokes which I don't find very appropriate being in a work environment. I'm not saying this as if I'm an old, bitter person. I'm in my early 20's and still find that their behavior is inappropriate. Overall, it's time to look for yet another grocery store I can frequent. read more

This evening, I went into this store, shortly after receiving some unfortunate news. I was crying, but trying to hide it. One of the female Customer Service Managers actually approached me, and asked me if I was okay. Not only that, but she asked me if I would like her to get me a tissue or cup of water. WOW! If that is not kindness, and customer service, I don't know what is! That meant a lot to me, and I wanted to share how much that act of kindness was appreciated by this Kroger customer. read more

Recently I was making a recipe that called for " frozen cooked crawfish in its fat". Being from Louisiana and knowing what real crawfish tastes like, I specifically did not want crawfish from China (tastes fishy). When I called the stores (includes Randalls on Clear Lake City Blvd) I was told that their crawfish was from Spain. Being in a time crunch, when I got to the store, found out that the crawfish were from China. Know that Food and Drug Administration will start scrutinizing where our seafood originallycomes from and not where they are shipped from. read more
