At our table for lunch today there was one pot roast lunch, one pork chop, a wilted spinach salad with chicken, a chicken fried steak and (just one more), a meat loaf plate. Everyone happy, extra gravy on those mashed potatoes, and delish fried cabbage. Plenty of lip smacking from the jalapeño cornbread eaters, and no shortage of refills (or waiting for them) for tea and cola. You CANNOT fail to check out the bakery. It's a must. There are scones sitting in the kitchen now, awaiting tomorrow's breakfast. Lemon blueberry. Maple oat. Cinnamon. Oh yum! The Ridge is adjacent to a lovely nursery (the market part of this equation) that also carries beautifully crafted wooden outdoor furniture. I felt the need to swing for a quite a while. A nice way to hang out after a big meal. Come visit both. You'll enjoy the trip.

They have a nice large parking lot to ensure everyone can park and it's really a scenic little spot. My friend and I went to the Cafe and Bakery to get coffee, water, cake and pie... everything was great. There is indoor seating and live music on the weekends, but there is also plenty of outdoor seating within the nursery/ green space! The food is delicious and the ambiance of this place is equally as good. We both found this place to be relaxing and somewhere that we'd like to visit again. The gift shop also had a lot of locally made goods that were very unique and cool finds! Definitely recommend stopping here if you're in Kerrville!

Great place to shop for food & non - food items. Sometimes, things are simply not there. I think…read morethe supply chain is still mildly affecting things. Or maybe they run out. Love the sporting goods department for fishing licenses & live bait. Great hardware. 2 sections for pets. Back of store by food & front near garden where some Walmarts have fish for sale. This one does not. Has the right bird food I need. This last visit, went to pick up my glasses ($9 frames but $400 for everything. Progressives. Transitions). Very happy. Optical came recommended, though I was skeptical. I did not need to go to San Antonio. Yay ! Their yard decor (Texas themed) was half price so we bought two. Just a really good department store. No competition since Big Lots went out. No matter what you are looking for, you will probably find it here. There online store is even more amazing. Shipping free with your Walmart membership. We had an 85" tv delivered so we did not have to get it home. Reasonable prices. Staff actually takes you to what you are seeking, instead of "aisle 51... on the right." It is, also, a great place to get steps if the weather is inclement. "I give it five stars, Bob." *****

(This is Walmart, after all) So, we stood in line to check out w a person but after awhile we gave up & went to Scan & Go. Lucky for us Daisy was working! When we were overcharged, as I'd suspected we'd be, she came to help us. I apologized for being a bother & she immediately told me that I didn't need to apologize bc she loves her job! Wow! So refreshing & so rare to hear that. Thank you Daisy for being so friendly & helpful! I'd never be able to give Walmart 5 stars but I can't give Daisy anything other than 5 stars. I'd give her 10 stars if I could.

We took her…read morebrother and his wife, who have, miraculously not been to Camp Verde compound even after passing it by on their way to Bandera on many of their trips to the area. Anyway, it was a glorious day after 3 days of good soaking rain, which we badly needed in the hill country. The food has always been top notch grade here. The service is very efficient and professional. As for the ambience, the inside is bright and well lighted but to be impressed, you have to go outside. Since it was a glorious day of bright sunshine, coolish temperature and a very friendly breeze blowing, we had a time walking around the area. The surrounding area was lush and very green after the few days of rain! We had a lovely time taking pictures. My brother in law was very surprised about the camel story behind Camp Verde. Camels were used as experimental animals to carry provisions in the 1850's. They were stationed in this area. Unfortunately, the experiment failed because the soldiers hated the camels, who had a reportedly nasty disposition and soldiers ended up with motion sickness because of the animal's unusual walking gait. If you want to visit the area, now is a good time before the summer heat gets here. FYI, if you like Christmas, the gift shop here gets an early start in October! If you like Christmas decorations like my wife, come here and shop. They really fill up the gift shop with goodies!

What an amazing experience. The hostesses were super nice and welcoming. Our server, Shannon, was top-freaken-notch! And the chef was as professional as he was nice. The food was incredible! The best truffle fries I have ever had, and I've had quite a few variations. The sandwiches were delicious and my husband said it was the best split pea soup he's ever had. Definitely our favorite eatery! Side note, the buildings and grounds are breathtaking. We will be coming back. I will also be bringing my daughter and grandson when they come for a visit in April.
