Today was my first visit to a H-E-B, and wow! Here are a few of the highlights: - Produce - So much. So cheap. So fresh! - Ready Meals - premade salad, take and back, "adult" real food microwave or oven ready meals. Again, so much, so cheap, so fresh! - Wine - good variety and reasonable prices. - Grocery - the only thing I looked for and couldn't find was Califa farms almond milk. But that might be a regional thing (I have only found on east coast so far.) This is my closest grocery store (other than Walmart) so I'll be back (a lot) and am excited to try more of their offerings. read more

I love it! Food is great. I always order the baked potato and a side of mac n cheese with a large sweet tea! Definitely great for a grab and go dinner! Kids love the Mac n cheese too! The family decided to stop here for our lunch on the way home from Waco. We should had kept looking for another BBQ shack when we saw the set up. The BBQ shack looked like a converted shipping container located on the outside walking area of HEB. The outdoor sitting area consisted of five metal tables, metal chairs, and umbrellas. It was over 95 degrees under the Texas sun. HEB should have wood seatings and tables instead of metal. Better yet, HEB should have located the BBQ shack inside the store. I ordered 1/2 lb of fatty brisket and brisket baked bean. Mrs. ordered a large pulled pork sandwich. Youngest daughter did the smart thing by going into HEB to purchase a prepared Mediterranean salad. The foods came out quick and we checked our purchase. First thing we noticed was the advertised pickles, bread, raw onions, and BBQ sauce that supposedly came were our meal were missing. So Mrs had to go back and asked for them. She was given another bag, but it only contained raw onion and bread. At this point, we didn't care, we just wanted to satisfy our hunger. The second thing we notice was that $3.49 small baked bean was not small but micro instead. I literally got just big one bite of the bean and it was done. The beans tasted all right. The briskets in the wrapper were two third fatty and one third lean, but I asked for all fatty. Smoke flavor and bark of the briskets were light, and so was the beefy taste. The pulled pork sandwich was nothing special, but it did have lots of pulled pork. The counter service was lacking in friendliness, food service, and customer service. This was the the worst Texas BBQ meal we ever had in term of foods, services, and dining experience. Prices were lower than the typical Texas BBQ shacks, but the saving was not worth it. Over the past six weeks there have been quite a few improvements at the store. Customer service in the pharmacy area is much improved. The signs directing customers to which aisle they want to visit for their food is now properly placed near the beginning of each aisle and those clumpy magnolia trees have been replaced with appropriate landscaping. read more

I hear some of the complaints about crowds and parking and that is true. But the store has so much variety and the prices are good. I think the customer service is great! I'm going back! read more

I have been visiting this HEB for 10 years. The last year or so I've noticed more customers are bringing their pets into this store. I've seen dogs, cats and even a cockatiel perched upon the shoulder of a customer crapping on the floor. NO these aren't service animals, NO they aren't always on a leash (many times they are riding in the baskets). Many times these pets are sniffing or licking on other customers. As a dog owner, I respect other non-pet owners and refrain from bringing my pet into public places but at times when at HEB in Brenham, it's hard to tell if you are in a grocery store or PetSmart. It seems as though HEB management is complacent with customers bringing their pets into the Brenham store despite having signage stating only service animals allowed into the store. read more

HEB needs another one in Brenham. No parking. Employees have to shuttle from other side of freeway. Very dangerous trying to leave store. Was hoping when remodeling would have more parking, lots of farmer,ranchers and construction people go there and need spaces big enough for pickups. Brookshire Brothers is getting more business now even with higher prices. read more

HEB is a good grocery store, but this location is really difficult just trying to navigate the parking and that was before the construction started. I think the staff is generally really nice, but by the time you make it to the register, it's hard not to be frustrated with the rest of the journey. read more

I have shopped at this HEB many times. I like the deals and their HEB brand items are awesome. The staff are not always helpful. I had a basket full $200 and some odd dollars worth of groceries. I had no issues taking it to my car but no one even asked if I needed a carry out helper. My basket was so overloaded that some of my items fell out and were ruined. I walked all the way back to the store and had to wait several minutes for employees to finish their conversation before asking me what the issue was. I explained that I had ruined items. They just waved at me and told me to get the replacements I lost. I wish they had been more helpful and consider customer service. read more

Terrible. The CHILDREN that run the curbside ONLY pull expiring produce and products for your orders. Have spoke MANY times with the "manager" of curbside. Just refunds and I feel does nothing further. read more

Why is this the only grocer that doesn't have a digital payment method. Being from out of town and forgetting my wallet, they were less than helpful. There was no option offered by the store manager to try to help. I even asked about using the online system but he refused to shorten the timetable even though the groceries are right there in front of me and did not have to be pulled by his staff. There's something seriously wrong with this man's attitude as well as The corporate decision regarding digital payments. read more

I've always been a huge H‑E‑B person. Shopped here as long as I can remember and it wasn't until this location that I was blatantly Profiled and Discriminated by their ENTIRE management staff. Specifically by Rachel, Colleen and a few other men whose names I cannot remember but if you shop at H‑E‑B do NOT go to this location. I've never felt so belittled until these people. read more

Horrible service. They clearly hire the lowest common denominator with bad attitudes. The check out girl had a 5 minute conversation about her name ("Lexi") with the bagger which was rude, but tolerable. But she followed this up by dumping my carefully stacked and organized groceries onto the conveyor belt on top of those belonging to the person behind me (Lexi didn't have the foresight to expect the belt to move when she picked up the separator bar... must be her first day in a grocery store), leaving us to sort out our groceries. She half heartedly apologized stating "we HAVE to do this" as if it is store policy; I replied with the sentiment that I thought it would be easier for her if I left them organized in the arm basket and at H Mart they don't let you take them out (because they understand efficiency and organization). She then bagged my groceries every which way without any regard. Thank God we live in America where we have choices... because I will not be choosing Brenham H‑E‑B for my groceries ever again. read more

Today 1/25/24 went shopping 10:00 am for the 3rd month @ HEB checked out exhausted @11:00 -workers everywhere- talking, laughing- when ask for help my husband and I, who are seniors with bad knees and brain tumor - were either given wrong information or told they no longer carried product and we were not the only ones these smart aleck kids were doing to us older people. When I called to complain it took 5 people to complain to- Reese spoke to me in Acronyms then transferred me to accounting-spoke to Kimberly then Kinya who again told me I needed MIC or maybe PLA ? ( turns out - manager in charge and parking Lot assistant- WHO Would HAVE KNOWN) John not in today- call back tomorrow - called back was hung up on twice finally talked to Alize who thought she had to sarcastically spell her name 3 times- she was very rude and told me not to talk over her w hen I was trying to speak- I guess she was more important- I finally spoke to Joann Julian store director- stated she will address my concerns, never asked for my name / what a Sorry bunch of disrespectful and rude group HEB has. We are in Brenham part time every week. The lack of people not wearing face masks is appalling! I have talked to management, they were rude, and have called corporate and complained. Nothing has changed! I have seen lots of employees not wearing a mask properly. This would not happen at the HEB stores in Houston. Walmart in Brenham is just as bad! I try to bring groceries from Houston now because I've given up! The management in Brenham don't give a darn. read more

The customer service at this store is awful - the worst. A word of caution, do not purchase the HEB prepaid Master Card issued by netspend. I bought one for a gift, my friend was unable to activate it so I tried and I can't activate it. Took it to a store manager, Avery, and she was unable to help. She said they have lots of complaints about this product so I asked her why they sell it. Her response was that they have a CONTRACT with Netspend. So customers do not matter at this HEB, what matters is their CONTRACT and customers are losing money. This is just one of many poor customer services experiences I have had at this store. Walked in and was greated by a mouse in the produce department. I am aware that can occasionally happen at a grocery store, but the MOD's lackadaisical attitude was overwhelming. I love shopping at this store, the people who work there are nice and helpful and very attentive. The produce is great and the fresh squeezed orange juice is to die for even though it is on the expensive side. I enjoy shopping in Brenham and this store is one of my favorites! read more

I was so excited when our Governor ordered face masks be worn in public, but even more excited when H‑E‑B corporate office announce they would require face masks for anyone entering their store. But was so disappointed when I went into H‑E‑B in Brenham today. No one was at the store making sure people were wearing masks. As a result approximately 10% of people I encountered near me when I shopped were not wearing masks. Even several employees were not wearing masks. And there was no effort to monitor how many people were in the store, no one way isles, nothing to try to keep people safe. It got so bad, I started taking pictures. I know it is not like this at the H‑E‑B by our house in Houston. They had someone at the door not allowing anyone in without a mask, and I actually saw them escorting a man out that took his mask off once he was inside. I LOVE my HEB! This store is awesome! Every person who works here is friendly and really knows the store, items sold and where to find them! They are always ready and eager to help. It is so refreshing when an employee walks by you and smiles! Yes SMILES! Lots of times they ask "How are you today?" like they really are interested! And they do not just walk by when they ask, they usually pause and wait for your answer! SHOCK! This is how our parents treated us to behave but do we ever really do it? So nice to see that kind of courtesy still exists! The produce is always fresh. Actually it is the BEST produce in the entire town! Their prices are right in line if not better than the other stores in the area. LOVE the little yellow HEB coupons that are all over- saving you even more $. I am amazed to find that when I need an item I think I will have a hard time finding in a small town I can usually find it at HEB! I have lived in Houston and visited HEB stores there and liked them. I LOVE this HEB! For years they have been consistently friendly and helpful. The store is always clean- even the bathrooms! Their slogan is 'No store does more" and this HEB proves it! The only downfall the store has is it needs a bigger parking lot! It is always packed but if you have a little patience a good spot usually opens up! Almost forgot the best thing, if the lines begin to get long- like maybe 3 customers in line, they open another register quickly and you guessed it, with a smile! read more

I went to HEB Instead of walmart because who wants to give walmart anymore of there money I spend enough there. I go In for my husbands shaving cream, since no else in town had the kind he needed. They were advertising there wine and alcohol as soon as you walk in. I'm thinking alright I'll buy a bottle of wine, grab the shaving cream and will be out the door. I go to check give her my ID and se walks away? Hmm I know my ID isn't fake, I have my passport if they need to see it as we'll: they come back sayin they cannot sell me any alcohol because I have an out of state ID, and they can not tell if my ID would be real or fake. They only sell alcohol to people with Texas IDs. I said are you serious. Can I just use my passport she said NO because try knew I was an out of state resident. So from now on I will never walk back into one of these stores. If there going to have alcohol but not sell to "Out of STate" residents, perhaps they should say so on there sign that is advertising for it!
