This Alon HEB is the cleanest & best stalked HEB in the San Antonio area. Their produce is impeccable. Their meats are fresh and they have a huge array of sushi and that's just to mention a few things. This is an H-E-B store that you definitely need to go check out. Staff is very nice at this store , they are very helpful and this is always my come to store when I'm looking for something specific. read more

Nice heb! It's huge, always clean and has a large selection. They have a sushi to go area, a large heb take home / ready made section, bakery, pizza shop. You can get anything you need here. I have used their curbside pick up many times and they bring the order out quickly. They've only made one mistake in all of the times I ordered, and when that happened, they had great service. Good service inside the store as well with a lot of staff members and check out lanes open. read more

Wow this store is fantastic! Not a little bit of everything but A LOT of everything. I got a bowl of fried rice with chicken and it was huge for $8.99 and delicious. Tasted freshly made---great flavor /plenty of peas and carrots and big chunks of chicken! So many options on hot ready made items and cold foods & sandwiches as well. read more

One of my favorite locations. The curbside staff is great! They are always so friendly and make great selections. The store is enormous and always well stocked and never in disarray. read more

Love Alon Market! Fresh everything. Partners are engaging and helpful. Curbside is always prompt and courteous.

Super clean and really nice Heb! We love the selection of hot soups, the meat market, and the in house pizza! Pro-tip you can get a beer to enjoy while shopping. All of the employees are nice and the shelves are always stocked. If you are looking for kosher items they have the biggest selection that I've seen including frozen items, bakery, and pantry staples. Their international aisle also offers more items than other locations. On the weekends they usually have samples. I recommend downloading the app to the see the sale fliers, clip coupons, and create shopping lists which also provide the aisle location! Super convenient! read more

I recently went to the Alon market to purchase quite a few items for my workplace. When I went to check out, I met them know I had a lot of bottles and asked what would be easiest for them. The cashier grabbed her manager and they were so kind in ringing everything up and bagging everything carefully. I apologized because I know it was a lot, but they didn't mind at all! I love H‑E‑B! read more

I have been shopping at this H-E-B for about four years. Recently I noticed that anytime I buy hamburger meat the inside is brown which means that they're probably spraying the meat to make it look red. This is the second time that I've bought meat that's brown inside. I made a hamburger with the first one and I got sick. read more

The product selection is fantastic. I think they have some of the best fresh seafood available. Nice people and lots of parking.

Consistently one of the best H-E-B locations in town. Good location, ample parking, and a great selection of products. Great atmosphere and very comfortable shopping experience every time. read more

Had a custom meat order H‑E‑B butcher unwilling to fill. Only 2 pounds of a specific cut but to no avail. Complete fail had to drive 29 min to a real meat market to get my order. Shame on you H‑E‑B such a simple request. read more

Have hired an San Antonio police officer to confirm People parked in curbside are really here for curbside pick up. I have watch 3 different customers park in curbside and wait for a second family member to come out with their groceries and load their car and leave. Or parked in curbside and gone in and shopped. This delays everyone with no policing which legally you as a store have the right to police your parking lot. But you only care about the money and how your public appearance is read more

I enjoy coming to this HEB. It's not too close to me but I don't mind making the drive. This is a large HEB with lots of choices for different foods, fresh meat and produce. I also saw when I was leaving that they have a pizza joint, so I'm trying that next time I go by. read more

Went in to buy some whole split chickens. Bought what was on the shelf. And then asked Kaden who had jjiisstt' started his shift if he could check his cases to see if there were anymore available? He turned & we both looked at his pallet of inventores he had to go through... He Did So with a "Smile," not ONLY on his face but throughout the entire exchange. He was So Sweet & Willing to help. Great Customer Service! Thanks Kaden for going the "Extra Mile!" read more

I had overheard a conversation where a customer was returning a recalled product, and the staff didn't seem to pay too much mind to it. So I went home and looked it up, and sure enough they were telling the truth. These products were recalled for maggots and unsanitary reasons - When I went back the next day, none of the recalled products had been pulled (yet) This is pretty gross and someone will for sure get sick from this. Heads up. read more

Listen up folks. This HEB is super fancy! It's so spacious, even has a pizza food court. One of the things I love about this location in particular is the way they advertise merchandise and their goods. They intentionally take a shelf at the end of the aisles and decorate it to create a nice display. This is super creative and I appreciate that. Also, the best time to go to HEB is in the middle of the afternoon - no lines or crowds. The floral shop here is super cute and I love all the selection of food here and products. This HEB also has a lot of items that I don't see in other HEBs. But none the less this place was a nice experience and would like to come here just to walk around and look at their products. read more

This is my favorite HEB, or rather, grocery store, period. Hands down. I can find everything I need and almost everything I want. And even though it's a higher-end HEB the prices are still affordable. Doesn't matter what side of town I live in, I will always go out of my way to shop here. The food is fresh and there's tons of variety in the produce. read more

At what point is HEB my HEB? I shop every weekend at Alon and regardless of the time the staff in produce makes me feel like I'm inconveniencing them. I compete with shippers, HEB stocking staff and the I could care less staff that shops for pick up. Today topped it. I watched as customers navigated their way through produce while staff left their carts and stocking products out. While I enjoy obstacle courses NOT on a Sunday and NOT at my HEB. So better! Be aware and make shippers feel Like a priority. read more

The Alon Market is a fave of mine! I love the pizzeria and the wine selection here! They always have the freshest produce! And one of the largest selections of prepped and ready foods! The fresh pressed juices are a nice touch as well! read more

I ordered curb side and did a survey. Next day, I received a call from the guy who pushed my items out ( took him over 15 mins to bring my items out) and they "followed up" with a phone call asking what's wrong with my order. I find this extremely unprofessional and rude. I took a survey for my over all experiences that I've had with H‑E‑B curbside and now I get harassed by the curbside shoppers if you don't leave a good review in the survey. No where did I ask to be contacted about my experience. read more

I ordered a small wedding cake over a week in advance since it was just a small ceremony I thought I would order from my local HEB. I requested a simple round cake with silver decorations on it with the words "I DO". On the day of my wedding I go to pick up my cake and this is what I get. I am horrified, it's awful looking and I wanted to cry. I notified H-E-B via their Facebook messenger and received a standard response and that someone would be reaching out to me. I'm still waiting. I'm extremely disappointed in the way this was handled and moreover the fact that my wedding cake photo is horrific. Maybe this will make it around to an H-E-B "Partner" who will simply have empathy and take ownership for this horrible experience I had. read more

One of the reasons why I'll never leave Texas is because of HEB. Fresh local produce at great low prices! And have you checked out the HEB app? There are exclusive digital coupons that you can't find in stores. I managed to score 2 lbs of bananas for FREE. Thank you HEB! I've been to at least 6 different HEB's in San Antonio and this is by far the nicest one I've been to. (The second nicest is HEB Plus near 1604) Honestly, a lot of the HEB's in SA are pretty crappy because they're really old. Maybe I'm spoiled, but being from Houston, we have a handful of HEB's that are equivalent (or even better) than the Alon Market. I love this HEB because there's a larger selection of everything: produce, groceries, health, etc. They even have Cooking Connection here, so there is food that you can sample from! The best thing about this HEB the Healthy Living section. It's filled with organic snacks, nuts, and candy that you can buy in bulk! Why can't all HEB's have this section?! My current favorites are the tropical mango (which they always run out of), honey roasted sesame sticks, and the veggie chip mix. HEB, please expand your Healthy Living section to more locations! It disappoints me that there are very few stores in SA that have this section. read more

There are 3 HEBs within 2 miles radius from my place. This is probably the one I like the most. I grow to like this ALON Market HEB more and more. Here is why: 1) The cafe on the run is great. I love their gumbo, clam chowder, and tortilla soup and the salad bar! Easily a satisfying and cheap meal there. 2) Free sampling is always abundant. Man, they always have so much free yummy stuff for you to try. If you have thick skin, you could probably make a full meal out of all the samples, lol! I think the best time to come is probably Saturday or Sunday afternoons. 3) The store is very clean and organized. It always has most things I need and it's never as crowded as some other HEB locations so getting in and out is stress-free. I also like the fact that it's close to Green and Starbucks. The only drawback is that when i needed some help to locate items a few times, there weren't any staff nearby. But it's still my favorite HEB and I'm glad I don't live far from it. Regardless I still miss Market Street in West Texas. And of course it can't beat the whole foods in Austin either. At Market Street, the employees are required to push the shopping carts for you when you leave and help put your groceries in your car. No it's not just for valet, it's for all customers! So as you can see, there is almost room for improvement! ;) read more

Love this HEB!!! I honestly wished I lived closer to this location so I could call it My heb. Though watching my carb i take, the bakery is awesome. So many nicely decorated cakes, delicious looking baked goods and pastries, plus specialty items like sugar free cheesecake and gluten free items. The aisles are well lit and spacious, so maneuverability is great. Prices are fair compared to other hebs, including the one I frequent on bandera and 410. read more

Favorite H-E-B in town! The staff is helpful and the store is immaculate. I tend to have lunch at the Alon Market Chick-Fil-A and do some grocery shopping during my lunch break. It's always a pleasure to take a stroll through this H-E-B and buy things I usually don't even sorta need. The addition of SoFlo Pizza had me giddy for weeks! The aroma from the pies gently leads you in and tempts you for hours after you've made your purchases and gone home. I highly recommend the spicy Hawaiian pizza. They offered sample slices of that a couple weeks ago, and I'm dying for another one! This is the best place to walk off your lunch, grab your dinner necessities, and stock up on all the things you need--eggs, bread, Nair, the things you think you need--ice cream, chocolate, potato chips, and the things you absolutely will never need but really want anyway--that little fish planter with the succulent I bought last week! read more

Nestled into the Castle Hills neighborhood, HEB at Alon is definitely a product for the San Antonio bourgeoisie. Even while I was walking towards the entrance, I heard a passerby make really ignorant comments about my clothing and race. I've never experienced this level of discrimination at any HEB let alone any area of San Antonio. It's unfortunate about the attitude of the patrons that typically frequent this HEB because it is an extremely lux location. There's a Rosella coffee shop and several other small shops located near the entrance, and this particular location seems to have more available registers than most. However, given the dirty looks I received from other patrons and the fact that I nearly got run over by an elderly man and his shopping cart glaring at me in one of the aisles, I'd rather not come here unless for absolute emergencies only. No thank you. read more

A very nice store. It has everything you could be looking for: - Kosher - any other ethnic speciality - awesome bakery - awesome deli - fresh seafood array - really wide center aisles - hair, beauty products out the whazoo - actually have enough cashiers open, 15 and 20 items express and regular - cooking demos even during Sunday evening This place is always crowded. HEB is a grocery story chain mainly down here in Texas. They have all your grocery needs and more. But this is one of the more elegant HEBs in San Antonio. They have great quality products in all their departments. You will pay more what you want than a normal store but the quality is better. Also they cater to a large amount of Jewish people living in the area. So that means they also have kosher items on hand. They are also inserting a SLO FLO pizza in there that will open in March 2020. This pizza places is a fast cooking pizza restaurant that is delicious. They usually have a happy hour special from 4-7pm. It is a large pizza and 2 beers or 2 glasses of wine for only $10. Yeah $10!!!! Talk about a cheap meal and a grocery store to do your shopping. Everything in this place is about quality and service. If you don't have the time to come In and see all the products that make up this great place. This is an amazing grocery store. Bright, well laid out and easy to navigate. My most favorite thing about it is the Simple Meal selection. Need a quick, filling and healthy meal, they have it.
