Horrible experience. Took my car there a few times for repairs every time l took it there l would have to comeback with more repairs. l replaced the expansion tank on my BMW the mechanic broke the air filter box had the check engine light came up. Took it back to Steve he" said it needs an air pump at a cost of almost a thousand dollars. lt seemed too far fetched so l took it to another mechanic, he put it on the scanner a code came up regarding an air fuel mixture, that would explain the the engine running rough. The mechanic found the problem it was a broken air box. it cost $150 to replace which Steve damaged it when removing the air box to get to the expansion tank. To add insult to injury the expansion tank was leaking took it back a few times he said, "theres nothing wrong" he was adamant. l said how can you explain the coolant leak on my driveway". His response was, "give me all your money l will make your vehicle brand new. For the record Steve did not replace the expansion tank as l had to replace it again. BIG TIME SCAM ARTIST!! read more

Had several BMWs repaired by Steve between 2001 to 2020 and concluded not to let him touch any cars & moved on. Take your car to dealership and get warranty for parts & services. HD motors doesn't give or care about warranty even after charging the customers with expensive OEM parts. At the end, HD motors charges the same as any authorized dealership of any German cars, so what's the point to go to him ! In another event we left a car for him to repair and he mentioned the cost of repair is so high the only way he recommends is for him to fix & himself purchases it. Ends up he purchased the car from us & sold it to a guy who worked at the Calgary International Airport which apparently was not fixed properly (The airport guy recognized us during a flight that we talked about cars, etc). Just because some people don't call Steve out on his dodgy business practices doesn't mean he behaves professional. We did figure out his crookedness too late due to trusting him even though other people including his previous employees, had hinted others about it. Life is short & everyone pays back. If anyone believes they save money by fixing their so called German cars at HD Motors, they are either not a relationship maker with dealership or too shy to walk away from this place read more

Started coming here in 2006 when I owned a Mercedes C Class Sedan. That car didn't live very long was written off and replaced by a giant Ford Explorer but I still came her for service. I know live in Edmonton and still come here for service. Steve is honest and fair. You will not get screwed over here. I have had 3 brand new vehicles since 2010 and each time I buy prepaid maintenance packages but as soon as something isn't under warranty to Steve it goes. read more

Businesses like HD are a rare find.  I stopped in during the xmas holidays as my heater in my Audi wasn't working.  Steve happened to be there although they were closed.  He immediately found a new blower in the city, went and picked it up and fixed it the same afternoon!  Turns out he was able to fix the old blower so didn't even put the new blower in! He charged me next to nothing for this amazing service! read more

I brought my vehicle to HD to have my alternator replaced. I have recently had an absolutely horrible experience with another shop for a separate problem. Steve the owner is the most professional and courteous Mechanic I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He was able to confirm the diagnosis and have my vehicle returned on the same day. I 100% recommend this shop and will only be coming here in the future. What a refreshing experience with a shop that clearly holds integrity and family values at the highest of standards. HD Motors went above and beyond for me! My car was involved in a car accident where I was rear ended. Unbeknownst to me the battery was damaged in the accident. I took my car in and they handled all the communication with my insurance and my auto-body repair shop! I trust them with my car and I strongly recommend this shop to anyone looking for a trustworthy establishment. read more

Steve @ HD Motors is a great guy. I've been taking my 1999 Merc E320 to him for the last year and he's been good. Repairs are a little expensive ($80/hour), but not sure if any other shops are any different. read more

I just had a great experience with Steve. I needed an out of province inspection on a car I just bought, and the mechanic shops I used in the past didn't do inspections. HD Motors was close to my house to I thought I would give it a try. The pricing seemed standard, but the service is where he really shone. I called in the afternoon and he said he could get the car in the next morning if I could leave it for a few hours. When I brought it in, he estimated 2 hours but called me about an hour later. One small fix and I was good to go! I've never had a mechanic shop work so quickly and be so on top of their communication with the customer. He seemed fair and honest. I will definitely be going back for future work, even though I drive a Japanese car (not a German car as is his specialty). read more

I like this shop and Steve a nice guy. He provided a service to my 2003 E500 for a few years now. Reasonable price and good services. I personally like to understand whats wrong with my car and see how the mechanic fix it in front of me. No surprise !! read more
