There was a display layout running by the door and it was fun to watch a Big Boy snake through the layout with a long train. Note that they don't have any wooden (Brio/Thomas) trains in stock, though they did have some O gauge Thomas train sets. Since I didn't have a list of things I needed, I was most just browsing. The owner was very pleasant as I rattled off a list of one-off items and helped me locate what I was looking for. We discussed custom runs for a bit, as well as the the future of the hobby. He clearly knew his stuff, and watching him assist some new modelers with simple, direct answers without an up-sell attached was refreshing. There is a dearth of good full-service hobby shops these days, and yet this one manages to rise above. I highly recommend it.

Walt's is a pretty big hobby shop, with a wide variety of stuff, including RC cars and planes,…read moreplastic models, model rockets, and lots of random supplies for making cool stuff, including paints, balsa, dowels, glues, etc. And as big as it is, there's an even bigger space out back with an RC car track, a crawler track, and even an extra meeting room. That's where Walt's really shines -- long after the posted hours, they open the space to all sorts of local hobby groups. I've been there with a rocket club in the back room, RC cars going on the track, and yet another group up front, meeting in the actual hobby shop part. The staff is super-friendly, and willing to help out and offer suggestions for whatever kind of project you want to take on. If you need hobby stuff, this is a great place to go in the Syracuse area.

Now I've been to maybe a dozen tracks, but none compare to this place! There are dirt tracks with mud and water for that true off road experience, regular drift tracks, mini rc tracks, and they are expanding. The service area is extensive, and they have pretty much anything you'd need. I also loved the fact that they do repairs at a reasonable rate. The value of this place can't be beat, at $10 to drift as long as you want, it's the lowest I've encountered. The selection of tracks and experiences can't be beat, and we had a really good time the three hours we spent there!

Underground rc is llocated in a huge mall so if you bring someone with you who doesn't rc there will be plenty for them to do. But back to Underground rc. What an awesome place. They have every kind of rc track you would want. Off roar ,miniz-z, dirt oval and they even have an rc drift track for guys like me who slide. I went on a Wednesday afternoon so it wasn't busy at all. The only charge 10 dollars for all day to drift so it's a great price. They also have a full hobby shop on-site they do everyhing rc good time great place. Only complaint I have is the track was really dusty but beside that it's a 5star place.

Our only real gripe was that it took three attempts to actually get in the store because each time we came there was a sign about "out to lunch at seemingly random times. The cancelation was done with no notice or apology - the only reason I noticed was because I saw it pop up in my PayPal account. I am a reasonable customer and would have understood a cancelation back in February or March. This would have given me a chance to lock in an order through alternative means; however, I really have no choices now as the booster boxes are impossible to find at the prices they were back in February and March. Very disappointed and would highly recommend anyone thinking about ordering from them to not - especially if the product is a preorder!

I know you're probably thinking "do I have to be left handed to come here?". The answer is no, you're allowed to shop here even if you're not left handed. They have a friendly staff here and yes, they do have Baker Mayfield cards here.
