What a blessing it is to have reputable and service-oriented small businesses in a nearby town instead of the impersonal "mega stores" 25 miles away in Erie! I took my computer to my internet service server,
Velocity.net, in Erie. They told me it was shot and I needed to get a new computer. I found this impossible to believe. I'm not a geek but I am a retired Counseling Psychologist with post Masters degree and a lifetime of people oriented skills. On my way home, I spotted this little shop, H & S computers in Girard. I was welcomed with a very warm smile by Christi who hooked up my computer, took less than 5 minutes in the back and said it was a very easy repair. She also tested the 3 memory sticks Velocity had removed and said they were in good shape??? Well,
the computer repair/cleanup only cost $40 I think and I got 2 more years out of my Windows '98. Needless to say, when it moved on to cyberheaven, I purchased a used Professional NT 2000 from them for a fraction of the cost a new one would have cost. She always helps me adjust to the changes this one has with a "smile" over the phone. Before Christmas, she came into the mission thrift store where I volunteer to feed and house the homeless. She had decorated their shop and put in a huge donation box for non-perishable food to help our cause. Now that's what you want in your community....people who pay it forward and don't cheat you but offer help when you need it without even a charge.
Also, my retired husband was having a terrible time hooking up the new digital conversion boxes and Randy actually stopped on his way home to set one up in our living room patiently showing him how to do it. No charge! My husband was so thankful after a day and a half of struggling with instructions that were not complete in explaination! Thanks so much for being in our community H & S. You can count on our business! Grandma Sandy read more
