Although an extension was filed, our return was never completed. What's worse, the tax preparer has completely disappeared. Their office is closed with only a handwritten note, and they have not responded to multiple phone calls, voicemails, or two certified letters requesting the return of our documents. We are now forced to reconstruct our records with someone else. We have also filed a police report and a formal complaint with the IRS due to the withholding of our personal and financial records. This has caused us significant stress and concern, and we would strongly caution anyone against using this service. I called Sally to get help with the new W4. Next thing I know I'm getting a $137.50 bill for calculating my W4. No prior warning that was the fee. sally said she discounted the price for me too. How nice! I don't mind having to pay for it but really it cost that much? So....I'm taking my business elsewhere. Berger provides no insight or advice for the 2019 tax year and I now owe over $2000 to the feds. For some of you that might seem minuscule but for my family it's not.

Spoke with several accounts on basic fee structure for an apples to apples comparison (without mentioning company) they all laughed. They all said I was paying way to much. I pulled my 2008 and 2009 taxes for a review.. WOW... the errors were rediculas. Current accountant ammended my 2008 taxes for an additional 12k savings and only charged me 1/3 the cost BERGERCO did. My 2009 taxes were also reviewed, found many errors. The bill for my S corp and LLC was evenly 1400 each!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Crazy. LLC had zero activity. I asked what there hourly fee schedule was.. evasive answers. no call back.. Kevin Berger said he would call back.. never did.. Nice office Kevin .. I'm glad my company can help pay for it. NEXT TIME, call your clients back, charge a fair price and produce quality work and you may not get reviews like this one and others I have seen on the web. ** Update- Kevin did call me.. but did not have much to say about his annual increase of fees.. therefore I do not need to change my rating.
