I did my due diligence of scanning Yelp reviews and using the Nextdoor neighborhood app. (in our area), to narrow down who we would use. We had made our appt. before the COVID, and had to postpone several times after. We eventually dropped off our paperwork, and on several occasions spoke to John. He answered all of our questions at that time. Professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. We just got a call today, that the paperwork is ready. Without hesitation they recommended Paul Sidley so I booked a meeting with him. The meeting provided answers to nearly all my questions and the process was similar to that of my prior choice, but it was better. What made it better was "flexibility. Instead of booking an appointment, showing up and waiting while the process was put together, Paul simply asked that I fill out a Q &A sheet then bring all my papers in and he would call me when he was ready for signatures. The entire process was smooth as glass and I did not have to sit and wait while he completed the forms. Wow....what a concept; make the process simple. I literally completed the process in less than 10 minutes, paid a reasonable fee and Paul took care of the rest. I heartily recommend Paul for those who are organized, punctual and value their own time.

That is considered the gold standard in accounting. Even with Forbush's significantly above market fee, I was comfortable. However, my work was delegated to an overworked newby, whom I suspect was not even a CPA. When I received an unexpected and unexplained refund check from the IRS, I brought it to his attention. He didn't know what to do, so he did nothing. The result of this inaction was an eventual penalty by the IRS. I finally obtained Brent Forbush's personal intercision with the IRS, but it was to no avail, even though the mistake was really made by the IRS. I did not get what I paid for and I have now taken my business elsewhere. I do not recommend this firm for individual tax preparation.
