I had an appointment with Dena Wiberg on June 22nd for an estate return. There were some funds that my sister and I couldn't after the company being sold several times. Dena solved the mystery. She explained everything involved in the estate return. It was a relief to have this matter completed. Thank-you Dena for your knowledge and dedication to your clients. She is truly an asset to H & R Block. read more

H&R Block is having "tech issues" and cannot finish the process of anyone's taxes. They don't tell you this until after you pay for their services and go to their office, message your tax pro and then call the Help Desk. But they still take your money. It's been 3 days and no answers, looking online, I'm not the only one. I'd skip them this year, the customer service is garbage. read more

My wife and I received a letter requesting information on our previous years tax return from the IRS. Needless to say we were pretty stressed out and wanted to meet the 20 day response time. My wife setup an appoint at H&R Block and we met with Duane Hubbard. He was very knowledgeable and professional! He helped us prepare the required materials and we met the timeline. In the future we will use this tax service every year over an online service. I highly recommend H&R Block. read more

3rd year in a row having and appointment and waiting at least 30 mins for our preparer. So glad I had to take time off work to fit our preparers schedule to then sit here. So frustrating. read more

I gave this H & R Block office my late 2017 tax information, another year's tax return and my 2017 1099. The lady said she would take care of it within a couple days. A week later I called and she was "out of the office." I call another week later and she still out of the office and no one else would help me. A week and a half after my last call she called and left a message that she had questions. By that time I got on the IRS website and studied the information. With my computer I prepared my 2017 tax return myself, printed it and mailed it with all the needed documentation required. I found out I was not in that difficult of a position. It was in November of 2020 and the 2017 return had to be filed before the end of the year to get the refund. I finally had everything together. The time was urgent to get my $500 plus return. H & R Block, thanks but no thank you. read more

Julie is very rude. Hung up on me while on the phone. Did not help me at all. Kept prolonging my problem until I gave up.

For years I have done my taxes with H&R Block. There was an issue with my taxes, but to be honest I still don't know what the problem is. 4 days later I am still waiting for my phone call. Disappointing.... read more

Avoid! Poorly managed.Angie?do not have it do your return. On 12/07/19 I went and had my return done and filed, at least thats what I thought. So jan 14 2020 h&r called to tell me my return had not been sent because it was missing a signature. It was 6 weeks before they notified me. The one signature that Angie made sure she had was the one that got her paid. Priorities,Huh? And they refused to return part of my prep fee. SHODDY and SLOPPY work is rewarded at H&R Block. read more

I've been going to H&R Block for years I'm happy with their service except when I call to make an appointment I expect the person to finish helping me instead of passing it on to somebody else and not giving that person information that I already given them extremely irritating but that's my only beef I didn't that I'd like this company read more

never again... I have always had my taxes done by a private business in Phoenix Arizona. It was always done from the information I provided and dropped off. It came back to me quickly and accuratly at a very reasonable price. I come here to H&R Block last year. I figured it could not be too different than my past. Since I did not make much money from not working most of the year how difficult could it be. I do a 1099 and I have the usual deductions someone in my business has. So I walk in and I am given a young lady, oh and Gus too went at the same time as I but was given a different young lady. Well Gus was done in 15 minutes and charged a reasonable fee all the while the person I am working with had no clue as to what she was doing even where to start. After farting around for about 35 minutes she asks the girl Gus was working with to help. She tried to tell her what to do yet she still could not figure it out. Finally she just came over and did it herself, It was done in 10 minutes. It was then an hour later and they had the nerve to charge me 400 bucks for crappy service and 10 minutes of actual work. I will send my taxes back to Arizona from now on. read more

My first (and last) adventure with H & R. My wife and I decided to to local with our tax preparation, as we have recently been using someone from our original area. I drove to H & R on Wells Ave in Reno, and quickly made an appointment with Willie. I realized a week later that I needed to re-schedule appointment (Look out) I left a message for Willie and received no response. I called back a couple of days later and spoke to the general call center, and canceled appointment, and was cut off before I could re-schedule another .Next day, I received two texts confirming the appointment I had canceled, Try to call a local office of H & R and it is automation hell. I things get this sideways simply trying to reschedule an appointment, I cannot imagine the mess they would make of my taxes read more

I had my taxes done here last year, and found it to be one of the better walk-in H&R Block offices I've visited in my 15 years of being a customer of theirs. Willie was great, and she was able to save me thousands of dollars by utilizing certain itemized deductions to help reduce the taxes that come as a result of a few too many slot jackpots. She shared valuable information that I hadn't yet had a chance to utilize that will be very helpful come future tax seasons. read more

I had them do my taxes and I got audited in 2018. H&R block incorrectly itemized my deductions and failed to list all of my allowable deductions. Obviously their computer math was incorrect also. Don't purchase the guarantee, they won't honor it or help you after the fact either. Now I owe more than 5,000.00 dollars. Please don't pay these improperly trained people to mess your taxes up. Run fast and far away from this place. read more

I give no stars, this is the worst ever. My client had two years worth or returns done here, both are completely wrong, they did not include any carryovers, forgot dependent, missed deductions, included losses that needed to be suspended. Now, with two attempts to get them amended, both attempts were incorrect. My client bought the peace of mind insurance but H&R refuses to let anyone but them amend the returns for the insurance to be valid. On repeated attempts to ask how to file a claim with the Peace of Mind insurance, no one has been able to answer how to go about filing a claim, nor when told we would get a call back has a return call be made. I have two case numbers to "escalate the case" but the first, over 10 days ago has gone unanswered as well. NEVER US H&R Block if you want your taxes done right. read more

I had what I expected to have a very difficult tax situation and I arrived just as they were having a computer problem. After waiting about a half an hour I was called to meet with my advisor, Robin Prohofsky, EA who quickly discussed my problem. Within a few minutes she told me that my taxes were done properly. I expected to pay for the 5 minute meeting, but she said it was no charge. A huge weight was lifted from my shoulders! They are off Wells Ave. and Crampton near to where the low cost medical center is. The office is very clean, light, bright and calm. read more

Very thankful for their help. I owed several years back taxes and was a confusing mess. Willie made the process easy and efficient. I will continue to have my taxes done at the Wells office for years to come. Very nice staff as well. read more

Let's face it..taxes are horrible!! We all dread tax season and for some people like myself hold off on doing your taxes for a multitude of reasons and time goes on and on and you don't get them done or you do and it still sucks! Well I didn't do my taxes for 4 years...yes shame on me. I'm hanging my shame out there because I want you to know that Linda and Angie not only finished my 4 year tax burden but they did it in time to turn them in on time to my IRS agent!!!! Linda even found me numerous deductions and credits I had no idea existed! I was able to drop everything off and they took care of it and called me when it was done...for real! I am beyond thrilled that these 4 years are neatly bundled in envelopes and beautifully organized and FILED!! ANGIE and LINDA are angels! They work so hard and the H and R Block office doesn't have a receptionist or front desk staff so while these Wonder Women ran an entire office and helped walk in clients they managed to get all that work done for me and in less than no time. Angie and Linda, thank you for being you! Also the fees for my taxes were barely anything!! One year was only $59! Average was $149. I'm also switching my business K1 over because I have been getting screwed by 2 different accountants charging over $2500 per year for a single K1! H and R charges between $400-$500!!!! Pay these ladies to do your taxes you drop off your papers and they call you when it's done! So simple!! Thanks again ladies!! You made my year!!! read more
