I was extremely disappointed with my experience with this firm and have taken my case elsewhere. I needed to hire a lawyer and after reading a couple positive reviews I decided to go with this one, deciding they likely outweighed the several bad reviews. My experience here was horrible unfortunately. I STRONGLY advise you to look elsewhere for better representation. I'm not typically one to give reviews unless I feel strongly about it and I do NOT want people having the experience I did with this firm. They will try to get you with a free consultation and then take every cent from you they can once you hire them. I contacted this firm to hire a lawyer to handle my divorce case. I personally had Ms. Godwin on my case who is new to their firm as of last year. She was very unprofessional and did not communicate well with me. She did not keep me updated and seemed too busy for me. She did not respond to emails in any kind of timely manner and when I followed up to check on the status of my case after a week of not hearing back she eventually got back to me by completely back-burnered my case, emailing me simply "I'm busy with other deadlines and will get back to you when I can". which is completely unprofessional. She made me feel dumb for asking her questions and like I was such an inconvenience. If a lawyer is obviously too busy for a paying client they need to be upfront about it and NOT take the client. Everything was very slow going which was frustrating. Recently I sent her several documents then called over a week after sending them to follow up on what the next steps were because she had not informed me or communicated with me. She stated clearly over the phone that she had NOT looked at two documents (that I had sent over a week ago at that time!) but would get to it when she was able to and could not give me any kind of timeline for my divorce case and the next steps. I was absolutely SHOCKED when I got my final invoice after informing them I would be taking my case to another firm that I was charged for her "reviewing" the documents (several hundred dollars) on what would have been the day I sent them. Ridiculous- obviously this firm is just out to get money and is shady and dishonest. Simple as that. Other charges were inconsistent as well and these people will swindle you. Additionally, the office manager doesn't follow through will calling back when she says she will. When I picked up my check to collect what was left in the trust and saw the amount was almost $1,000 less than the final invoice she had sent me only the day before, I questioned her about it and asked if there has been additional charges in the last 12 hours? She just innocently said "oh I thought I emailed you a new invoice?"- no. Like I said some of the charges were inconsistent and had extremely vague descriptions. This firm will overcharge you and take advantage of you. They charged me thousands of dollars for very little work. Overall, DO NOT GO HERE. They have made the process of divorce so much worse than it already is. There are way better lawyers here and it is not them. Like I said, the owner Jared Olsen is a state legislator! It's mind boggling that he employs such unprofessional and dishonest lawyers. He's an elected official with a business that unfortunately has no integrity whatsoever. Go somewhere else, you won't regret it.
