I'm rather surprised TK Maxx's main Warrington town centre location in Golden Square has received…read moremany good reviews - although most of them go back to the Qype days and are around 10 years old - it proves this store was at one time pretty good, although it really does seem the store has declined hugely of late. I did have a problem with many of the big brand stores in TK Maxx's Warrington location as they just screamed out small-town mentality and this store like Primark and a few others - shown this more than most. The store was a little dark and felt like it hadn't been refurbished in years - the cleanliness of the store was also poor with so many goods all over the floor from clothing to even their ultra-small technology section which was mainly cheap sets of headphones (come on who wants them after they've got dirty through being trodded on?) The store again seemed slightly understaffed with the staff mainly congregating around the tills - they even ignored items all over the floor right in front of them which for me is just careless. Perhaps once a great store, and a nice brand to have in Warrington but they seem to take the concept of being a little like a jumble store where you can find bargains here into a mess with this being one of the poorer TK Maxx branches I've visited - nearby branches in Liverpool and Manchester are much larger, cleaner and simply better.

Well I had to go and investigate, it was my duty as a women and I was pleasantly surprised. They had a good mix of clothing, from the smarter/dressier range to more casual and everything seemed to be on a par with the fashions coming out. I was impressed with the quality and feel of the garments as you know sometimes they can feel cheap and nasty. Ok prices aren't dirt cheap but they are more reasonable than I expected and seems in comparison with the other fashion stores. I liked the fact that some stuff in there was a bit different and quirky, always guaranteed to get my attention. My only criticism was that the shop feels quite small and pokey to get around and when I was in there; there were only another couple of people shopping so I have no idea on how mad it could get at a weekend.

However much like Wigan we found this store quite small in comparison to some of the others we've visited in places like Liverpool, Manchester and Blackpool. Happily for me neither found anything they hadn't already seen in other branches so my wallet remained unopened and intact. If you're in Warrington then have a look but if you really want the full Primani experience then head for Liverpool or Manchester instead.

This limits it quite significantly. JJB sports didn't have any, just like all the major shoe shops. When we eventually tried Matalan, they not only had a choice, they were £7 a pair for reasonable quality. When I was asked about a card, I thought it may come in useful at some time, filled in the information, was given a temporary card and got £1 off the trainers immediately! Definite points for the store there! What I was impressed by was that, although the prices are ridiculously low, most of the products are good quality - at least as good as most normal shops. I couldn't give five stars, however, due to the long wait to get served. There was a snake of people all waiting patiently and two tills in operation, every time I have been in, no matter what time of day. I still recommend Matalan to everyone for whatever clothing they need.

This Warrington store has had a recent refurbishment, and now looks bigger than it did previously. The shop is really spacious, and there are no problems shopping with a pram. The shop has a great selection of everyday clothes. You can pick up tops for £2.50, and leather shoes for a tenner. They also have regular offers, and 3 for 2's on gifts, especially around Christmas time. Most of the staff are really friendly, and car parking is usually fine. Be aware, however that the store does get busy. Weekends can be a nightmare, and even with all the checkouts open, be prepared to queue!

Inside the store is a little cramped, but that is because there are so many bargains to be had. This is the perfect place to shop for cheap costume jewellery, lovely little knick knacks and stocking fillers for girls. My daughter recently had her ears pierced at this store, and the staff were fantastic. They were very caring as well as very professional and I was very impressed. Good to go in when sales are on but they only sale their unwanted stock like most shops do. Hair bands/alice bands are way over priced compared to some other shops sadly. A lot of stock and shelves/accessorie holders in a small area, feels like you will knock something off as you walk round wiht a bag. Also you feel like you are being looked at for shop lifting at every move you make. I know these stores suffer badly from theft but making people feel guilty doesnt aid sales.

This is a fairly small store by Debenhams standard, however, this must be expected to a degree with it being in a smaller town - there are much larger branches at Manchester Trafford, Manchester Market Street and Liverpool which are all 10-20 miles away, but this location still serves as a great location for click and collect for customers who might want Debenhams fashion without the travel (The click and collect desk could be in a better location compared to the Lower Ground floor but this seems to be common practice to force people to spend more time going through the store hoping they see more items along the way, you normally wouldn't see when online shopping) Again - due to the size of the store compared to others they did lack many facilities one would normally expect from Debenhams including many beauty brands which is a shame - they do however have a small cafe area, but unlike other stores, they don't have a juice bar or something similar. It may be a little smaller than the city centre debenhams, but it still stocks everything you could need. I love the designers at Debenhams range, particularly for children, and the fact that you can now buy Radley bags in the town centre is a bonus. The cafe on the top floor is brilliant as you can look out onto the whole shopping centre and have a nosey as to what everyone is getting up to.

Not only is it larger and lighter, so much easier to look around, but the stock seems to have improved too. I can testify that customer service is excellent as today I had to return a coat that had a ripped pocket and button falling off, after only 1.5 day wear! I've only been to work in it so was surprised as the quality did seem ok. I could have repaired it myself but I still had the receipt in my purse so popped in to see what they would do. The assistant was great, I explained the problem and said I wanted a replacement coat but needed to wear it there and then, she swapped it without hesitation or question and behaved as if it was no bother to them at all. So while I'm not too happy about the fact it happened to start with, I guess nothing can be perfect, but they handled the situation really well and I've already spotted some nice things in there to go back for!
