I had no idea that H&M opened a location in Kingsway and when I saw it, I was pretty excited. I live on the southside, so the only H&M in my location is the one at South Edmonton Common, and to be honest, it is not a good location. The store is super small (oddly unlike all other stores at South Edmonton Common...) and the stock is crap. So I was pumped up when I saw this H&M, with the hope that it would be closer to the ultra-awesome WEM location. I was impressed! The store was much larger than the crappy SEC store and the selection was really good. Have the prices gone up? I had a harder time finding awesome finds at H&M this time around. I remember there being some really inexpensive stuff here but as I browsed the shelves, all the price tags seemed to be $29.99 and up. Not that that is overly expensive, but I remember seeing prices closer to $9.99 and up the last time I was there. Anyways, I tried on a couple shirts and I loved them. I really like the double mirrors in H&M. You can really tell what you look like in their clothing from all angles. This can sometimes be scary, so don't go shopping here if you are bloated! I liked one of the shirts but I didn't know if I liked it enough to pay $34.99 for it, so I put it on hold and continued shopping. I didn't end up going back for it but I am still thinking about it. H&M is a good place to shop, and this location is a A+ in my books! read more

H&M is yet another additional to the update at Kingsway Mall. The first time I heard about H&M was when I was in Sweden visiting family. I was impressed with the store there and am impressed with the store here. One can liken H&M to Sweden like The Bay is to Canada (aside from the home appliance, furniture and decor aspect). I will say the main draw into the store these days is for kids clothes. They have a great selection and very good prices and carry a lot of Hello Kitty items. I'm not a Hello Kitty fan, but for those who are it will please them. Their fashions are very forward and trendy so if you're looking for the hot ticket items here's a good place to start. They do have a good selection of work attire and casual wear as well. I'm also pleased to see they have a small maternity section too. The mens section is substantial compared to other stores - again very trendy. I do find the front of the store rather dark and wish their lighting was better, but I guess they're going for the "atmosphere" feel. The kids section is well lite. The change rooms are roomy, bright and clean and the staff is certainly willing to find you different sizes/colours when you're trying things on. It's worth a stop in to see what they have. read more

The new location has only been open for a few days and feels huge, for a store within Kingsway mall. Having separate shopping sections (and entrances) for "men's," "women's" and "kids" clothing seems outdated to me, as more retailers are moving towards gender-neutral shopping experiences, but my husband seemed to enjoy having everything he was looking for in one contained space. However, it did seem counter-intuitive to need to go to the "women's" section of the store to find fitting rooms and to pay. As with previous experiences, while it seems there are many staff wandering around the store (and they are all connected by a radio system that is often so loud it creates feedback when staff stands too close to each other,) finding someone to help you can be a challenge. I did catch up on a lot of the latest gossip on a few people's social lives while I was waiting though. read more

This location is usually very well organized, and they always have something I want to take home with me. Unfortunately, the maternity section is always a disaster. They never get enough stock in, so when I go to try stuff on, the styles I was looking at on the internet are already low on sizes or completely sold out. They do have some cute stuff, so I wish they would maintain stock levels in this area better. The staff is there and always willing to help if needed but are never intrusive. as there is always a lot to see in this store, it's nice to not have someone coming up to you every four steps. Returns are never a problem, and are handled in a prompt and friendly matter. I also love the kids section. There are tons of options are priced really well. Kids tend to grow like weeds, so having stylish choices at good prices is always a nice thing. The one biggest peeve I have with this store are the fitting rooms. They are clean and well lit, but they are always freezing. I always need to rush when I'm trying anything on because I, and my poor feet, get so cold. I suppose it keeps the clothes from getting all sweaty and helps move people out in a timely fashion, but it is extremely unpleasant. Overall, this is a go to for inexpensive clothes that look good and will last if you take are of them. read more

This H&M has a more crowded feel than the South Edmonton Common or recently-renovated WEM one. However, this location probably has the 'best' maternity clothing section compared to the other two locations. And by 'best' I mean, a little corner so probably about 4 wall sections of clothing (I find the other two locations usually have just one rack). Though there isn't much, there is still a variety. They have a decent selection of baby and kid's clothing though, including the organic cotton line, for reasonable prices. Tip: Park on the way less busy second floor along 106 St and go in near the (south) Sport Chek entrance rather than battling parking on the 109 St side. read more

This is not the best location of H&M I've ever been to, and trust me, I go to H&M wherever I go. I was really excited when it opened because it's way closer to me than the one in WEM. It's also, obviously, quite a bit smaller. It can be pretty narrow in most of the aisles while browsing. They seem to have really different clothes from the other locations. When I'm at WEM I can always come out of there with something, but not so at this location. I swear the men's section has all the same stuff they've had since the store opened. It never seems to change. They do have a decent accessories section. The staff are usually pretty meh as well. They're not rude or anything, but they don't seem to want to really be there, like they're just too cool. I'll still go in here when I'm at Kingsway, but it's not my favourite. read more

I was walking through Kingsway Garden Mall the other day and found so many new and interesting stores. I've heard some of friends mention H & M and how cool that place is... well there it was, a new store at Kingsway, so I decided to check it out. The clothes looked cool, hip (do people still say "hip"?) and fashionable. Some of the styles looked like higher end, runway types of clothes but at really great prices. I saw some cool winter coats that I would wear but it seems their highest size was like a plus ten! So I didn't buy my dream winter jacket because I have a little too much meat on my bones. But I kept looking around and found some other cool styles that I wish I could fit into. Then I got to the kids section and found a great sweater for my niece. It just seems like something she would wear and because she grows like a weed I didn't feel bad buying her something she would grow out of in less than a year... the price of the sweater was pretty sweet, it was on sale for $15! Like I said the place looked "hip" and "cool" and if I could fit into some of those clothes I would have totally bought something from there. I was really surprised to find such a good kids section with tons of selection and good prices. I have been on the hunt for toddler boots and at most stores they charge $20+ for them. I found a cute pair at H&M for $12.99 that are just as nice if not nicer! I have shopped here for myself in the past and will continue to do so knowing that I can get my kid's shopping done at the same place. I was pleasantly surprised! read more

My granddaughter received a gift for Christmas that was too small for her. We had the receipt but the problem was that it was over 30 days to return and their policy was 30 days. I was shocked that they would not let us return the items at the value they were purchased. They only gave us the sale price which was 1/2 of what we paid for it and it was in a store credit. Unbelievable, I will never buy a gift there again. It doesn't make sense to me that they would not give over 30 days to return if it is a gift. People shop early for Christmas. What are they thinking!!! They said that we should have been told upon purchasing but we were not. This is at the Kingsway Garden Mall location. I spoke with a Subrina, store manager, she stuck by the policy. I am a very unhappy and dissatisfied ex-customer!!! read more

I've always liked this store so much! Found it while living in the States and liked their style. Unfortunately, there seems to be no way to address costumer service issues in place or it is hard to do. The thing is, in my opinion, they're not careful enough when hiring their staff. I experienced what I'd call pretty immature, rude behavior by one of the girls that work here who wouldn't help me figure out their pricing and wouldn't let her coworker help either. When I suggested they did something about the sign showing the wrong price and asked for some guidance to find the product that matched that price, she insisted I was wrong and then literally LAUGHED at me! Her coworker ignored me too. Will I want to go back to this place? NO. In fact I'll be telling my story of the child that laughed at me at H&M for a while! Costumer Service is more serious than most employers want to believe. Not everyone goes to the store for sale prices, especially because like in my case the low price was a fake, and because not everybody is willing to waste their time dealing with rude immature staff. The other thing to learn about the store from this experience is it is MESSY. Which might bring us back to their staff anyway. I tried to contact the store online and there's no way to file a complaint of this type, or to contact a manager. read more

Took my 7 year old shopping for back-to-school clothing. Found eight items that she liked but one T-shirt that she loved was too large so we searched and found it on one of the display mannequins. When we asked if a staff member could check to see what size it was, we were told that the only way they would bother checking it was if we "guaranteed" that we were going to purchase it. When I said I would purchase it if it was the correct size, they refused to check. They explained that it is store policy to not touch mannequins on weekends unless it is a guaranteed purchase because they are soooo busy. (Did not appear that busy at the time... several staff standing in a corner talking amongst themselves). Guess they really didn't need my money anyway since they are too busy to offer decent customer service. Spent my money elsewhere and won't be darkening their door in the future so I guess their display mannequins are safe. IDIOTIC policy... read more

So I just recently discovered h&m. I shop there for the kids. Personally I like the children's wear and baby items. I like how they have charecter shirts like Cookie monster and cars. My kids love the charecter shirts, I buy them at h&m because I know they won't be cheap like ones you may find at walmart. Everything I have ever bought there has held up. I like more then just the charecter shirts. I like the infant jeans, they seem to be designed for babies, unlike other name brands. The jeans have plenty of waist space for chunky kids and they can be adjusted for slim kids. Some of the jeans available are perfect for little crawlers and walkers because the fit, the knees are formed and they are elasticised at the legs. My baby can move easily in them. They would also be great for the baby who sits in a cloth diaper because some of the pants and jeans have a lot of butt space. As for the price? It is not bad, some are inexpensive, some are pricey. I usually shop exclusively at the gap for the kids, but I always make an exception for h&m. As a metter of fact I am going to h&m today. Hope my review is ok? Have a great day! read more
