I LOVED my experience at Hebe. This was our last meal in Paris and it did not disappoint. I went here with my daughter (11) and we split the tasting menu for 2. We had the leeks and zucchini for starters. The leeks were the star for me with a potato soup pour in the middle. I was using the bread to get all the sauce off the plate. We shared the Sea Bass, Pork and Sea Bream for entrees. The Sea Bass was my personal favorite with a great lemon foam that complimented it well. We chose the lemon dessert which was paired with nicely with matcha ice cream The service was fast and polite with a quaint ambiance. It smelled like beautiful lavender when we walked in.

Absolutely amazing meal. Calm restaurant with an inventive menu (gf and vegan friendly) and great service. I will definitely be back and will be putting one raspberry in my gazpacho from now on!

Fabulous restaurant that serves a Mediterranean/French cuisine in a casual but chic atmosphere. It's a small restaurant and the menu is quite varied including nice vegetarian / vegan options. The food is seasonal and you can choose a la Carte or try the tasting menu, which we did. Nice Foiegras and Jerusalem artichoke soup to start followed by Scallops, Venison and duck breast. All cooked beautifully albeit in small portions. The chef here was selected as the top 30 young chefs in 2020 by Gault et Millau. The service is very friendly and English is spoken. The Mont Blanc dessert was amazing and we ended up ordering it twice :-) the flavours were great overall and it was a very nice meal.

Decided to come here after reading stellar reviews on trip advisor. I went in with high expectations. Overall I thought the food was good and the service was so so. Our waitress was neglectful of our table. The food runner/bartender saved the night, he was very nice and recommended the perfect pinot noir for our food. If I had to pick the best dish of the night- I would say the John Dory with chanterelles and green beans was the most delicious of our 4 plates... and the pinot noir.. tied for 1st place

    Cauliflower, caramelized mousseline, crunchy colors

Our last meal was disappointing considering a 2 Michelin star chef designed the menu. We picked 2 starters, 3 mains, plus a dessert for 84 euro, which was a very good price for Paris. The two starters were highlight of the meal. Cauliflower mousseline, which I can't figure out what was in it, was smoky, complex, and delicious. I almost want to say that there was fish sauce in there, but apparently it was vegetarian. The swordfish tartar was fresh and seasoned with bold Indian spice. The first main was scorpion fish with mushroom, squid ink, and pomegranate seeds. An unusual combination that didn't really complement each other, although the fish was cooked to the right temperature. I do like the fact that I did not eat any overcooked fish in France, which happens way too often in US. I was determined to have razor clams on this trip, but the clams and razor clams dish didn't do it for me. The clams weren't cleaned well and the sandiness detracted from an otherwise good dish. The veal and mustard jus was the only solid main, but I had been previously spoiled by the pigeon from L'epicure and the beef filet from Cezembre. For dessert, maybe we should have gotten the Clafoutis that several other tables got, but we had too many sweets that day and settled for the 40 months comte. It came in tiny shaved form and didn't feel all that satisfying trying to pick up tiny shavings. The accompany grape chutney was satisfyingly sweet and sour.

As a vegetarian, I struggled to find good vegetarian food in Paris, until I went to Hébé!! This restaurant was by far the most innovative vegetarian food that I've had. I tried the risotto w/ tofu, Parmesan gnocchi, and artichoke soup and all were excellent (see photos). The French food with Mediterranean spices creates the perfect flavor palette. I was amazed by the flavors in the VEGAN risotto which tasted like perfect cream and butter. I would highly recommend this spot to vegetarians and meat-eaters alike!

We knew we…read moreweren't relegated to bistros, brasseries, and boulangeries for our culinary choices, especially in a neighborhood as culturally diverse as Le Marais. That's what drew us to the fresh Israeli fare at this casual cafe. At around 7PM, the place was hopping because there were quite a few people not only dining but also waiting for takeout orders. We planted ourselves at the counter facing the busy prep area where the staff was assembling plates and pitas. We decided to share the 7,50€ Green Beans which looked to be quickly sautéed in lemon, garlic, and olive oil to a fresh, tasty snap (Photo 10). Jamie ordered the 13€ Golden Ratatouille, a healthy melange of eggplant, tomato, zucchini, carrot, and onion mixed in their house tomato sauce with a nice side of hard-boiled egg and tahini (Photo 8). Well, I thought one of us should try their specialty pita sandwiches, so I went with the 13€ Lamb Kebab. It was delicious with big lamb and beef meatballs peeking out of a nice fluffy pita stuffed with red onions and chopped cilantro, mint, and green onions. It was slathered liberally with tahini and their housemade spicy sauce (Photo 9). It was just the Middle Eastern meal we were hankering for. We can have escargots and croissants some other time. The downstairs is two tiny high tops for two and one that might fit three plus a few tables out front. I mention that so when you go, not to expect a sit down experience. The food was nothing that other places don't make, but was so good. I had a simple shawarma wrap and a side of baba ghanoush. Both were excellent. The shwarma was beef and lamb, which I ordered with the Toum and hot sauce, as well as the standard onions, pickled veggies, and tomatoes, and it was small. But every bite was perfect! I don't know why or how, but the little wrap could have been the best thing I ate the entire trip, and believe me when I say that I ate a lot. I have eaten shwarma and/ or kebabs from dozens of places in dozens of cities and I can't say that I have had better. I ate great shwarma at Taza on Queensway and throughout London in the 90s, but bite for bite, this was as good or better. I hope my glowing review doesn't set the bar impossibly high, because it's the simplicity that makes this little sandwich so good. It's also in a fun and vibrant neighborhood near the Pompidou Center, so I would highly recommend this for lunch or even a hearty snack for someone who may be walking all day.

However, I was visiting Le Marais with a local who assured us that he had tried both Mi Va Mi and L'as Du and couldn't figure out any discernible difference between the two. (I guess it's one of those Geno's vs. Pat's situations.) I was ready to eat, so I opted for Mi Va Mi. The falafel was exceptional! It's fried fresh and it was just delicious. I also appreciated the addition of fried eggplant on top. So good! My favorite falafel experience of all time. I only wish I had gotten more of their "spicy sauce" which wasn't terribly spicy, but very garlicky! My husband got a grilled sausage and enjoyed that, but returned after finishing his sausage for a plate of just plain falafel. The staff was super nice! We ended up here for our first bite in France because L'As du Fallafel was on vacay (and they were randomly closed another day when we tried to go back, so I can't make a comparison until next time we travel to France) We got the PITA CHAWARMA (11€) to-go, and this put pita sandwiches in America to shame. ** Mi Va Mi's version was huge, and it was the perfect amount to be shared by two people for a light lunch while leaving stomach space for pastries ** It had a generous portion of grilled turkey and chopped cucumbers, drizzled in a yummy yogurt sauce, and wrapped in a fluffy fresh pita ** In my opinion, I think they could have gone lighter on the yogurt sauce since it was dripping and soggy. I think this is the first time ever that I didn't mind a soggy sandwich though, because the flavor was sooo delicious ** There's something about the pita too, that was reminiscent of the taste and texture of focaccia ** I had expected the shawarma to be the star, but instead I was impressed by how well the pita sandwich came together as a whole. It was hearty and satisfying without being too salty or heavy Tips: - They are speedy! Food was ready shortly after we ordered since they assemble everything on the spot - Spicy and non-spicy options - Small dining areas indoor and outdoors (plan on just standing in the picturesque alleyway) - It's a bit messy to eat even with forks, but this makes for an awesome street food experience

Since we were planning on getting gelato after dinner we all decided to do a start and a main course. I got the sweet potato with tahini, tomato and fresh herbs. Very light and earthy dish. I enjoyed it quick a bit! For main course the calamari dish caught my eye. The calamari came with kimel and onion cream with Israel beer and freekeh risotto. We told them (well my friends did since they speak French) that I had a nut allergy. When the calamari dish came out it looked like there was some sort of nut in there so I asked my friend to double check for me. They did and conclude it was nut so they had to remake my dish. There are no indications for allergens on the menu I noticed as well. They remade my dish and I dug in. The flavors was a bit too tart for my liking. There was also very little calamari since it was buried in the risotto. The flavors were just not my cup of tea but I did enjoy how fresh everything was and how nice the staff was. Maybe if I ordered something else I would have liked it more? Overall an okay experience.
