One of the desserts with lemon flavored cream cheese encased in phyllo pastry. It was good.

I really, really, wanted to like this quaint, but charming restaurant. The owners were SO nice to us which is a Big deal since we found out almost immediately since arriving to Paris that they don't think well of Americans, and they have absolutely no qualms about letting you know. That was not the case here though. The owners are a married couple, and they were sweet as pie. The food though; let's just say that we were all expecting more. Ok, so a common problem we all agreed on was that the food was flavorless. It's as if all the food was just flavored with salt and pepper and nothing else. How can this be? I thought Greek food was the epitome of bursting spices and robust flavors? The apple tart was, well, it was bad, and the poor man knew we didn't like it. I felt so bad at the way his face changed when he saw we had only taken a few bites, but it really was close to inedible. The problem was that the crust was not cooked all the way so when you chewed, the grainy-raw bits would crunch underneath your teeth. The lemon-cheese dessert wrapped in Phyllo however, that was pretty good. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing, but nothing I ate would inspire me to return. It's really a shame because they are so nice and welcoming. Service 5 stars Food 1.5

The food was so delicious we went back twice for lunch. Our first day we had the Greek Salad,…read moreMoussaka, and the whole grilled Sea Bream. Everything was so tasty and of course the houmous with warm pita is a must. Our second lunch we had the Specialite de ma grand-mere (roasted lamb shank with figs) which melted in your mouth, it was so tender. The chicken kabobs and Spanakopita were tasty, however the pork kabobs lacked flavor and were very tough. The staff and especially Leila were lovely and attentive and gave us a little glass of Ouzo to finish. If your looking for a homey atmosphere and authentic Greek cuisine, La Crete is the place!

From the…read moremoment we walked in and were greeted like family to the end of the meal, we felt so welcomed. We found La Crete on TripAdvisor and decided to stop in due to the great reviews. We checked Yelp of course and saw they were great here as well. To begin, we ordered hummus and immediately dug into the hummus that was absolute perfection. The pita bread they served it with was grilled and had some herbs on it as well...delicious!! We told the server, I think was one of the owners, the hummus was amazing and he brought us a little bit more. We all ordered skewers with baked potato, salad and tzatziki and we all loved it. The amazing service continued throughout the meal and when baklava was suggested we decided...why not? I'm not usually a fan of baklava because it is most likely made with walnuts or pecans and I hate both of those. This baklava was made with pistachios and was so very yummy. Again...perfection!! We made plans to return the following night and our trip on the Seine river went too long and we had to leave without getting another chance to return. Although this made us sad, we still felt very fortunate to have had the chance to eat here once. If you have the chance...eat here! I recommend it without hesitation!!

Great meal for our final night in Paris--however something is confusing. The facade of the…read morerestaurant had a different name--Kehribar. Looking at the photos of Istanbul, it has to be the same place, with the fabulous deli case. We had the hummus, tarama (pink caviar dip) and tzatziki with plentiful pita bread. All three were outstanding! We also had the chicken kebob and lamb kebob. Which were fine, but it was the dips that blew me away. I wish I'd had time to try other items in that deli case--it would be perfect to carry back to an Airbnb with a fridge. To top it off the waitress, manager, owner was so friendly and working non-stop. I found it by walking past it on the street while exploring the shops and restaurants on Rue St. Jacques. I looked up, saw the bright new sign and looked through the window. When I saw the deli case, I was sold.

It is a small place that serves take-out but also have a beautiful seating area that brings you back to places in Italy. Whomever designed this place, hats off to you! What a visually wonderful place. I ordered the mixed meat plate and my girlfriend ordered the two meet plate with chicken and lamb. Both plates where very tasty and a great option for lunch. It wasn't too heavy and gave us energy for a full day of walking. I highly recommend this place if you are visiting the area. Sit down, order some wine, eat some food and enjoy the scenery!

We tried the rotisserie chicken pita and the ratatouille one. Both were packed full of fresh ingredients. I loved the veggie one. But shoutout to the pita because it didn't collapse or get soggy from all the veggies and sauce. It held its own and was delish. Inside has some tables in back that were good but really this is a quick lunch space and a great one at that. Delish.

The cauliflower and sweet potato are visually stunning and well-roasted, but ultimately the condiments the restaurant offers don't compensate for the neutral preparation. Even tomato sauce, hot sauce and salt together couldn't coat the cauliflower in a satisfying way. When the vegetable is cooked with the idea of its being a blank canvas, it can't be retroactively perfected. Table salt should be a garnish, not the savior of a meal. The sweet potato fares better since I could mainline that vegetable, but if a roast sweet potato is that good without any seasoning, there's no reason to pay a restaurant premium for one. I am not trying to denigrate the concept of Miznon, because to do so would be to miss the point, but I would argue that I only ever need to experience Miznon once for novelty and then can move on to genuine meals at restaurants that justify the cost of dining out.
