A cozy Mediterranean located in Jericho. My wife and I stumbled on the restaurant one day while looking on google maps for somewhere to have lunch. We were greeted so warmly by the owner Bridgette as we were seated to enjoy our meals. I had the Greek salad with chicken souvlaki and my wife enjoyed the Gyro platter with rice pilaf. Both meals were so tasty and filling. The quality of meats and your portions are quite satisfying. A family ran business who treats there customers with such great respect and care. I called the restaurant after my husband came home with the food because I assumed this was a mistake and the girl said "this is what it is, I'm just an employee , it does come with 2 pita". Found myself on a rainy night picking out a take out order from here. Ordered the gyro meal which includes a salad and lemon potatoes. I clearly asked for extra tahini substitute on the side. I also ordered a grilled octopus. While the person that took my order read back my order to me and it was curbside I got home to find one piece of lemon potatoes, a salad w no feta and half a slice of pita bread and no tahini at all. They are a bit overpriced for the quality. I saw a lot of take out orders and I want to support local business but if you're going to charge me $35 for then get it right! This update is for my second time going to this restaurant and I can happily report that the experience only got better! The first time I came to this establishment was with my wife. We were heading to see a comedy show and we were looking for a place that would set us up for an excellent evening with some amazing food and great service. This restaurant did not disappoint. Now, during my second visit, I came for much the same reasons, although with friends in the mix. We totaled six and neither the quality nor the attention to details faded due to greater numbers. Moreover, each of my friends that came with me were also coming here for the first time and left glowingly delighted and swearing they would return. The taste, cost, service, and convenience to the nearby performance theater in Westbury make this place a jewel! This is our favorite stop in the Old Westbury area on our way out East from up North, to the point that the owners have become friends over the years. My wife loves their perfectly marinated Chicken Sticks and I have not had anything that didn't "wow" me or have enjoyed. It's not a big place but a nice family owned business. read more

I was really excited to try the falafels from here and surprise my parents as they've been missing falafel. Food arrived on time but the falafels were SUPER DRY. Dry and hard as a rock. Needed a knife to cut into it. There was no flavor, needed to add our own salt, pepper and other seasonings. The only part of the meal I enjoyed was the tzaziki sauce. I threw out the sandwich after 3 bites. HIGHLY disappointed. Will not be ordering from this place again. Bummer, because we were all looking forward to this meal. read more

I've been looking for a good Greek salad ever since I moved to the area about a year ago. On a whim, after a movie nearby, I stopped into Gyrolicious with my wife and tried the hummus sampler and Greek salad with chicken. The meal was incredible! My family and I ate here last night before going to the Regal Movies which is only 5 minutes away. The place was great. We were greeted by the owner who showed us to our table. She was son nice and made a point to check on us at least 4-5 times. The place was immaculately clean and looked brand new. We ate gyros, quesadillas and a delicious salads. The food was amazing, large portions and the service couldn't have been more friendly. We ordered a slice of baklava which also was delicious. I rate them 5 stars. We had a very enjoyable meal at Gyrolicious. Prices were a little high and the appetizer order of the grilled octopus was VERY small. Service was also slow, but the waiter apologized and explained that there was a mistake with the order. That being said, the food was very good. The grilled octopus mentioned above was excellent - tender and tasty. Another standout was the chicken gyro entree. Their tzatziki sauce was a hit with half the group. It was not as garlicky as most, which appealed to some, while I found it on the bland side. All in all it was a very good meal that I wouldn't hesitate to return for. read more

Set in a small parking lot with a few stores, doesn't look like much on the outside and honestly wasn't sure what to expect. The hostess was inviting, friendly and made us feel like we had been there a bunch of times. My daughter and I both ordered the Augolemono soup and a small greek salad. The soup was very different from the typical Augolemono soups I've had in the past. This was a thinner broth but filled with chicken, carrots and rice. Broth was very favorful. Once I got past that it was different than other soups I've had, I loved it! It was a generous serving size and came with pita. And it was perfect on a rainy day. This is definitely my go to Greek restaurant. Just had dinner here tonight with my wife and my mother. The owner always finds the time to come out into the dining room and is the chef. The food is always delicious and the portions are huge. The have a mixed grill platter for two than can feed four. They have the best chicken gyro I have ever had. Boneless chicken is usually at best boring and sometimes dry but the chicken gyro is so good I could eat just that. The waitress Samara is excellent. The Avgloemono soup was perfect... both lemony and peppery, studded with chicken and carrots, orzo instead of rice. Delicious. Lee had the much raved about octopus and it did not disappoint.. together with lemon potatoes and Greek salad, this was the perfect plate. I enjoyed the pork souvlaki and Greek salad noticing how ripe and sweet the tomatoes were. I think I've gotten used to pretty flavorless winter tomatoes and these absolutely stood out, as did the fresh lettuce and homemade tzatziki sauce. For dessert, I asked for the baklava and loved how it arrived warmed and sprinkled with cinnamon and powdered sugar, while Lee said that he prefers his in the future cold and crunchy. To each his own. Coffee was good and piping hot. This is a welcoming local, family run restaurant. Steve, the owner, is the chef. I have crazy dietary restrictions due to health issues and they were SO helpful in taking the time to help answer ALL of my questions regarding ingredients in menu items so I was able to figure out which dishes were safe for me to order. They let me make 100 changes to dishes so I can customize them. I have been getting deliveries the past few months and everything has been amazing and really fresh (and my sensitive stomach has been very happy!) If I had to think of anything, I'm just sad that they don't always have delivery available, but they are already doing me a favor since I am slightly outside of the delivery zone, so that may be why... But when I am able to get it delivered, I'm SO happy! Very friendly staff willing to accommodate and delicious, fresh food... What more could you want? read more

Maybe this is why their food comes out so quickly! Within 10 minutes of entering the restaurant I have a salad, pita bread, and dips to feast on. I recommend the Greek salad, avgolemono soup, and mixed grill (excellent value by the way). They give such generous portions of pita bread with their dips. My first trip to Gyrolicious was for a Yelp event and I was so in awe of the flavor here that I came a second time in the same week! My SO wanted a gyro and I knew just the place, so we came and I ordered a chicken gyro and he ordered a combination gyro with lamb and beef. We ordered them to go and had a great conversation with the hostess, while I didn't get her name she was extremely welcoming and it was nice that she was keen on checking to make sure our orders were out quickly as I hadn't though about calling ahead. We waited at most 10 minutes which was incredibly fast in my opinion, and the gyros were wrapped neatly in bags that held the heat. The cut of the gyro was soft and crispy so I loved my gyro and my SO loved his. I look forward to coming back and eating the spicy feta dip with some homemade pita chips very soon as well as their souvlaki and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area! read more

Gyrolicious was amazing! For an appetizer, we chose the sample platter of dips including the spicy feta dip, hummus, babba ghanoush and tzatziki. The dips were homemade and served with soft pita. The spicy feta dip made me smile - that's how good it was. The other dips were also outstanding. This appetizer is going to be a staple for us when we come back - and that will be soon! We overheard the table behind us raving about the grilled octopus. I'm definitely going to try it next time we visit. Our party of four each selected from the pita menu for our main entree- chicken gyro, chicken souvlaki and lamb/beef souvlaki. We were WOWED by our entrees. The portion sizes were beyond generous, the meat expertly seasoned and cooked to perfection. There is a nice choice of sides to choose from. Some of us ordered fries which were terrific - crispy with just the right amount of seasoning. I had the Greek salad which I really enjoyed - all the produce was fresh. I can honestly say this was the best chicken souvlaki I've ever eaten. The owners were warm and welcoming - their presence and attention definitely an added bonus to the dining experience. The restaurant has a great feel to it with a cozy ambiance, great tunes playing in the background and comfortable seating. Our waitress was attentive and we felt well cared for. This restaurant also has another thing going for it - location, location, location. Located right on Jericho Turnpike it was easy to get to with ample parking. We are looking forward to our next visit and sampling more of the menu. We were happy to learn that the restaurant also does take-out/delivery. I went on a Sunday afternoon, and was starving! I was greeted with a smile from a young waitress (the blonde one) and was sat down immediately. She took my order right away, and checked in often to make sure everything was okay. I had a fairly complicated order, and she got it correct down to a "t". She definitely made my experience a pleasant one. Then the food. The food was delicious. I ordered a chicken gyro, as well as some lemon chicken soup, and was delighted with the portion size, as well as the taste. Both foods had a great combination favor and texture, and I am looking forward to my next meal there. Overall, it was amazing.
