    Lamb salad

So I see all the bad reviews but I noticed they are at least a year old. Things have changed here at ole Gyro Chef. I am TRYING to be more health conscious so I ordered the lamb salad. I may or may not have complained to my husband that I really wanted a gyro with fries. Let's just say after one bite of this salad, I was not upset I didn't order what I truly wanted. This salad was phenomenal. The lamb had a crusty char on it that was amazing. Lettuce and veggies were fresh and salad dressing was to die for. Definitely had a heavy lemon flavor but it gave the salad a bright, refreshing flavor that left me wanting more. Cost was on point. Delivery of food was a Wow factor. I'm sure he had everything prepped and ready to go but we had our food within 7 minutes. My husband enjoyed his chicken gyro. Said it was hot temperature wise (no one likes luke warm food) and had good flavor. I usually taste his food so I can at least speak on it in my review but my salad was so good I was more focused on it than what he had. I'm hoping to see this truck in downtown Woodstock more often. It would make my tummy happy!

Stopped by this truck while in Atlanta for a convention. Overall experience was ok. They were pretty slow and even after ordering it took 10 minute to get my food and they forgot my drink. The gyro was lamb which is always nice. They didn't charge me for the extra taziki which I'm glad j got because the meat was a bit dry. The baklava is what got them the 3 vs 4 star review though. The piece came out and I thought it looked a bit burnt - but they told me it was just browned on the top. This was not the case. It tasted burnt. It was also very dry like they hadn't used much honey in it at all. I'd get the gyro again if I was in a pinch but I wouldn't search this place out.

A food truck. Webster's defines it as a truck that has been converted to cook and sell food. Some good, some not so good!

Flavorful, but portions aren't proportion to what you spend. I realized why I didn't go back for a while to this food truck. The memories came running past me when I got my order and almost threw my container in the air. Not from anger, but from the fact there wasn't a lot of food in the container. I would have taken a picture but the thing was so light I actually did bump into something and i dropped it but caught it at the last minute. Why dont they have bags? What if someone gets two orders? I hate when people adhere to the dimensions of a container. So I asked for rice but they filled just the corner section of the container with rice. The greek salad was the bed for the meal and the chicken although flavorful was cold and below room temp. It could have been heated up a bit so it could take a walk if going someplace else. Rice was decent. But for 14 bucks I could have driven to Hapeville and gotten more food for less price!

My lamb gyro was just ok. The meat was kind of dry, like it had been sitting on the grill for a while before being served to me, rather than being sliced off the spit like a real gyro place would do. Also, I've never had pickles on a gyro?? Kind of weird.

Yuck. 'Beef' kabob was chopped something. $15 for chopped something, fries, some lettuce and sauce. Threw part of it in trash.

We both got the plate which comes with a protein and 2 sides with pita. You can get the protein as a gyro wrap so A+! We both got Gyro meat, fries and he got rice pilaf and I got greek fries. LOVED. IT. ALL. - Fries were nice and crisp with the perfect amount of seasoning that doesn't overwhelm or underwhelm the fries. - The rice pilaf was very soft and fluffy which greeted your mouth with love. The wraps, child. Just give these folks a CHECK! - The hummus with pita were very good. Service was great. I didn't get the young girl's name but she was super sweet and attentive. Ambience was 10/10. It wasn't busy when we sat in and quiet but honestly, that was the type of environment needed to just be present and appreciate the good food. We are definitely coming back in the near future and hope you guys can support this establishment.

We arrived at the restaurant an hour before our show and notified the waitress that we were on a tight timeline. We prepaid in an effort to save time and not have spend time at the end to close out. We did not receive our food! 5 minutes before we were due at the theater, they started bringing out some things that we didn't have time to eat. We told them that we would just like a refund. They had us put our phone numbers and the last 4 digits of our credit cards on the back of our receipts and told us that they would refund us. Imagine my surprise when the charge for food I didn't get appeared on my credit card. It's so sad because I truly thought this was an amazing restaurant, but I cannot bring myself to go back. *Update*. I was finally refunded, but still won't return!

Problem is that I don't like to drive the distance via the highway. Luckily my cousin is here and he was willing to drive. It was a Thursday night and we thought we'd try to avoid the evening rush hour traffic. It was still busy but we made it. This location is right by the 715 Peachtree Parking Garage and the restaurant does validate parking. We went in about 7:30 pm and it wasn't crowded. We waited for the one waitress before she told us to sit anywhere. I knew what I wanted because of past experience and finding a menu online. I let my cousin know that all of the food is good and their portions are huge. I got the Greek Combo and he got the lamb skewers with a salad. I also ordered the Dolmades as an appetizer. The Dolmades came out fairly quickly with a side of warm pita quarters. The combination of the two was yummy! It wasn't too long after that our entrees came. My cousin's salad came soon after the entrees were delivered. It came in a bowl on a larger plate with dressing on the side. As he was trying to pick out the cucumbers because of allergies, things were falling out, so I suggested he out the contents on the plate. The salad covered the plate and was high. I must have misread what was in the combo because as I started to eat, there was spanakopita, pastitio and then I found the eggplant for the moussaka. I thought the combo was moussaka and pastitio only. As I said, the portions were huge. It also comes with green beans and rice or Greek potatoes I got the potatoes. I barely made a dent in my order, it was definitely filling. My cousin had 2 large skewers with rice and green beans. He too had a huge portion with rice and green beans. We both had to ask for boxes the take our food home. Our waitress asked if we wanted dessert so we asked what they had. I remember that the Norcross location had a large display case with cakes, baklava and cheesecake. They only had three choices to offer---baklava, Greek cheesecake and another Greek dessert. I chose the baklava for my cousin and I to split and a box to take 1/2 home. We shared the 1/2 and that was plenty for the 2 of us. I don't remember if there was music playing in the background, but because it wasn't crowded, my cousin and I could have a nice conversation and feel comfortable. Our waitress was attentive, making sure our drinks were refilled. When we first came in, I let her know I missed having the Norcross location because it was convenient for me, but I understand why they closed to maintain the one location. She had worked at the Norcross location for 6 years with the waitress who I always had when I went in. I think she was actually one of the owners. If it wasn't so far to get to for me, I'd go more frequently. For those who go to the Fox Theatre, I'd definitely recommend having dinner here before the show. It's only a block from the theatre.
