We've shopped at Paragon for decades and always had good to great experiences there. The staff is…read morewell-informed, has integrity and the merchandise is of excellent quality. Tonight l had another great experience at Paragon thanks to the sensitivity and good nature of Mike R in the upstairs shoe and boot department. As a rule, my 88-year old husband doesn't like to buy himself new clothes. But after what feels like weeks in this polar vortex, with him stubbornly trudging and slipping through the snow in old rubber rain boots and a cane, l stopped hinting and put my foot down: we were going to buy him some warm, waterproof boots with cleats. Knowing that he might only put up with one outing, I decided to scout Paragon on my own, first. Mike R. advised me he had only one style of boot that fit what l was looking for and not many sizes left. When he came back with a size in the ballpark, l asked if he could hold it for me. Mike was blunt: he couldn't do any 24-hour holds with the stock so low, but he could hold it for two hours. I thanked him, explaining that if l bought these and presented them to my husband as a done deal he would never even try them on. But we'd be back, within the hour. When we arrived on the floor, Mike picked right up on the dynamic: this was not a customer for a hard sell. And so Mike was the soul of discretion. He kept a low profile, talking quietly and only to me and showed up just often enough to be helpful. He was patient, kind and l got the feeling he was enjoying the challenge of selling without ever even connecting with the guy trying on the boots. And Mike's strategy worked! We made the transition from my husband's original reaction to the only boots in his size ("l hate them!") to walking out with four pairs of socks and that same pair of warm, waterproof boots with cleats. I am deeply grateful to and frankly in awe of Mike R, Paragon boots department. Thank you!

Jerzy arrived ahead of schedule and got quickly to work re-assembling our treadmill, which was in pieces in our basement. He finished in about 45 minutes, giving the treadmill a thorough look as he assembled. Once he was finished, he gave me a walkthrough of what he had done, and had me test out the machine. He even gave me some advice on how to care for the machine before he left. Jerzy was polite, organized, knowledgable, efficient, and incredibly reasonable in terms of pricing. I was told to arrive 15 minutes early so the trainer could introduce herself and I assumed walk me through the equipment, ask if I have any injuries or issues, and make sure I understand how to use the equipment. none of this happened. I walked in with everybody else - I might as well have been doing it for the 50th time for all she knew. it's very hard to see or hear the instructor bc it's so dark, loud and crowded in there. The equipment is not self-explanatory. She never checked my form once and as a result, I'm sitting here with a very painful wrist, inner left knee and ankle. Hopefully it's just tendinitis or irritated ligaments, but who knows? they make you sign a liability waiver (I see why, now). All of this could've been avoided if I had just gotten a little attention in the class and been shown some modifications for some of the moves. they really need an all beginners class or reserve spots upfront for beginners. at one point I had two sliders under 1 foot which probably contributed to my injury, but I couldn't tell in the dark whether it was one or two. also the weights you lift are soft wrist and ankle weights, and it was very hard to get a good grip on them. They really should have 3lb dumbbells as well.

The entire order delivery experience has been the worst. Now I'm left with a machine where I need to google how to use it, figured googling beats calling in. The reason for the five star review is it's still a great location and building, and the staff that works there is exceptionally hardworking and honest. The majority of landlords and buildings are not known for their honesty with anything related to money, but these guys are completely trustworthy.
