Okay, this is the kind of review customers like to see because they find a great fix immediately.
Soooo many businesses, today, have no concept of how to how to conduct business in a way that customers would hire them back a second time. Even when someone secures my business, I often am just aghast at the poor work ethic of the employees. (I actually had a 'Factory Warranty Certified' repair person come to my house to install a part that was defective from the factory. He couldn't figure out how to get it to fit so BROKE THE PART to install it! Needless to say, I had to bring in someone else, who found the idiot had installed it upside down and caused water to run all through the inner portion of the door and all the electrical boards/components. The factory had to replace the entire unit.
MANY businesses don't even return your calls! (In the past two weeks, 66% of the companies I called for an estimate on mowing didn't even bother calling, much less actually come look at my property to give me a bid for a contract I'd annually renew.) My experience with Gym Service Solutions, today, was the polar opposite.
I have to start with the backstory so you can see how much different my experience was when Gym Service Solutions finally came on the scene! I bought a four year warranty from a company to provide in-home servicing of my elliptical machine. It took just short of five MONTHS to get a technician to my house. When the last technician didn't even call me, I was ready to turn in the warranty company to the Better Business Bureau. But, they canned the company with the technician and turned to Gym Service Solutions. Almost immediately, Melinda (co-owner of Gym Service Solutions), called and set up an appointment two days later! Hooray!
Today was the big day. I was stunned when Melinda called me to tell me that Carlos (her husband and co-owner) had just arrived at my home and was outside. Amazing! He hadn't even gotten his well-stocked tool caddy out of the vehicle!
Before entering, he showed he had ample respect for me as a customer and person. He asked if I wanted to have him wear a mask and was conscious of his shoes before entering my home. Over the next two hours-plus, he showed the utmost of knowledge of my particular unit (even getting on it and working out a few minutes to zero in on prospective ills), clearly and simply described the plights, then cautiously, professionally, and in a timely fashion dismantled the unit and put it back together. I'm telling you the truth, it is in better shape, NOW, after he left than when it was NEW. He even gave me advice on using sprayed, dry silicone on a part of the elliptical once a month (rather than the base white grease which can collect dust and particles from the rug and gum up the works). I had never thought of that and appreciated his insight.
Carlos was a very interesting man. They had come from Connecticut and he and I talked about his love for Texas and all sorts of fascinating things as he worked. Jack-of-all trades (their business even can move equipment, repair things like a massage chair, etc.), and with every took he needed in that one bag. Don't be fooled by his looks (I would have sworn he was about 28)! He has a lot of experience and excels at what he does. Articulate and very easy to understand, which is great for me since I'm a senior citizen with hearing problems. I look forward to hiring him--without going through a second-party--for other things that he enjoys doing and also is very confident in his capability to meet my high expectations.
I can't often give someone a 10, but this company gets a 10+ from me. I was duly impressed! read more
