Horrible place. Very rude, they hang up the phone when I was having trouble to schedule my appointment. I will not go back.

The waiting room was a bit confusing--there was a clipboard on the end table but it had the wrong date--after waiting to speak with reception they indicated to still sign in on that sheet. Things only went up from there. The front desk staff were nice and helpful. I did wish that they had sent the forms/link for preregistration ahead of time, but minor issue. They prefilled my info on the iPad and forms so I mostly just had to sign and update family history. Once everything is completed and any co-pays paid, they take you back to the room to get changed. You get to keep everything on except your top half. Yay for no freezing full gown. The changing area is cute (considering) and they have lockers for your personal items. Everything was clean and organized. I had a nice chat with another patient as we were waiting to be called to the radiology room. I got an absolutely wonderful tech who was upbeat, thorough, kind and funny. Zina (hope I got that right) really made the experience great. She explained everything, gave clear instructions, and chatted away so I was completely comfortable. While I likely just had the normal scans, it was not really painful. Will update this review if there are issues with getting the results or billing as others have mentioned, but would recommend right now!

The care and service was professional and as expected. Front desk employees were fine. However,…read morethe billing department of Washington Radiology is deplorable. Rude, rude, rude. I was overcharged for a service in early March. My EOB did not match the charge, so I was being denied by my HRA. Call after call was met with chaos. I was told to call back 3 or 4 times because my bill hadn't been processed or they couldn't find my information or they were in the middle of an update and couldn't help. When I got a bill, it was for $600 less than what I was charged and every time I asked for an explanation, the person on the other end just kept rereading the same talking point over and over. I paid over $1K at the time of service, was sent a bill for $466 and when I called, I was told I had a $0 balance. Will I get the $600 overpayment back - no. Why, no idea. Asked for a manager. None were available. I will never get service here again. The billing department employees are terrible at their job and the one who finally found my record kept interrupting me and reading the same lines from her script over and over.

I have had significant issues with charges being more than quoted over the phone, incomplete communication about authorization, deductibles, and other things. However, generally speaking, they have gotten the job done. I don't like that parking needs validation and they only validate up to 1.5 hours - and some mammograms take longer with ultrasound and additional imaging. They also can be a bit short over the phone, and fail to provide context that other radiology facilities might be more inclined to include. However, I do appreciate that this location has a broad range of services available and is prompt with answering calls and attempting to answer questions. Never my first choice as there are some amazing radiologist in the area, but a lot of them have inconvenient appointment times and can take months to schedule. I wouldn't suggest parking on the street, as the police ticket cars immediately when the meter expires. The parking garage is also an issue when going for a first mammogram as they tend to take longer. For subsequent visits, they are good about getting patients out very quickly while still doing what needs to be done. Though, you may feel rushed, I do like it better this way than worrying about having to pay for going over time in the parking garage. One thing I don't like about them is that they had been charging $20 for a CD to bring back to your provider. The other radiologists that I've been to have never charged me for a CD, so I was very disappointed as my provider was shocked that the CD costs exta and she prefers the CDs to go over the findings with patients in an extended consultation with lots of visuals - she apparently needs to CD to do this effectively, so I was not able to receive the same level of detail about my treatment plan that I previously received, due to having my imaging done at Tower Radiology. I hope that they reconsider this charge. Anyway, I think it is better to know what to expect going into it. I added an extra star for convenience.

I have always had great experiences with the technicians and front office staff for my mammograms. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that sometimes finding availability in their schedule can be an issue. Sometimes, I have had to schedule weeks out and their office hours are not conducive for folks who work 9-5. However, if you have flexibility during the weekdays I highly recommend them!

I did have a bit of trouble finding the right person to speak to on the phone. I'll say that the two women women working at the receptionist desk during my visit were extremely nice. Setting an appointment was a breeze, and CRA provides an option to complete all of your paperwork online before your visit. Checking in was also a breeze. Although I arrived about 20 minutes before my check in time (just as a just in case since I was a 1st time patient), they let me start my MRI a bit early, which was great. Just like the women at reception, the MRI team were super nice too. The facilities were quite clean and looked maintained. However, I was a little concerned that the warm water in the restroom was white even after running the water for a couple of minutes. CRA/medical park has a decent number of free parking spaces, which is becoming more rare these days, so that's one less thing to worry about. Actually, the parking situation is why I arrived earlier than my check in time, because it seems impossible to find free parking in this area. Fortunately, you will not have that problem at CRA.

Excellent experience…read more I have severe claustrophobia and typically get sedated MRIs - I had challenges going through with this at the Shady grove location with the cage or harness on my face and being a 6'3 240lb dude with wide shoulders I barely fit into it without hunching my shoulders. As you can imagine scrunching my shoulders further cramps my chest which feels worse if you are panicking from claustrophobia and can't catch a breath. That's what happened the last time and I couldn't get through with it and got an MRI under general anesthesia. Fast forward 2 years I needed another mri so I reattempted it, I called the Oxon hill location because they had an earlier appointment and explained my prior exp, the woman at the phone said they wouldn't put a brace on my face and to come in and try it out. So I did. The woman who runs the mri was a total champ - she was so calm and kind. She said as long as I didn't move she would put no braces on me and would let me try out a 5 min stint to get my breathing controlled to see if I wanted to continue or reschedule for another time with some Valium . I was able to go through with it ! The location looks a little run down but that lady at the front and the MRI tech are both wonderful. I think I can go through with this from now on. I have uploaded a pic so others can compare, im a big dude with wide linebacker shoulders. The tech said she fits in 500lb individuals too. How I don't know but if it's her doing the fitting I'm sure she calms them down into feeling much better.
