The sales presentation was not high pressure, they didn't try to sell us something we didn't need. They gave us a heads up when they were going to start. They were honest and quick (we quoted some possible wood replacement, but the installers said we didn't need it and refunded that portion of the quote). Our gutters and downspouts are about 20 years old. Downspouts were the major issue with damage to them. Improper drainage needed to be addressed. We looked at several companies and products and decided that this company provided the best product. The gutter protector was the best design we saw and was very well made. This was important because we recently had birds building nests IN THE GUTTERS, which caused the downspout to clog and overflow. Apparently, this area has been invaded by a species that nest in gutters and vents causing a lot of damage. The new system is larger made of better quality than the original material. We bought this product 7 or 8 years ago from the dealer in Louisville, KY. We live in southern Indiana. The sales process was high-pressure as documented by others here. At one point the rep got the owner on speaker phone when we said it was too expensive. It sounded like a recording that said they'd gone as low as they could. Ultimately, I signed the contract. The product is sturdily built and we have had good experience with it with a couple of exceptions. In one corner where there is a valley in the roof, water was overshooting the gutter. A tech added a vertical metal piece to direct the water into the gutter. That worked pretty well for a time. T he valley also collects a lot of debris from a neighbor's lare maple tree during the fall. The metal piece allowed debris to build up and prevent rain water from entering the gutter. The remedy was for a tech to drill a few ¾" holes in the cover of the gutter to let water get into the gutter more easily. Unfortunately, this also allowed some debris build-up inside the gutter which ultimately blocked it. The tech came back and drilled another hole. I ended up taking apart a section of gutter to clean it out. This was complicated and very time-consuming. A new problem occurred couple years ago when some 15-foot high landscape trees near an outside corner of the roof gained mature height. House sparrows began nesting there and building nests inside the gutter. They are small enough to easily get inside. I have climbed up and removed some of that debris with difficulty. I've looked for a forceps-like tool that would fit without success. The Louisville dealer has since disappeared and there is one remaining dealer in northern Kentucky near Cincinnati whom I contacted for advice. I got no response. The sparrows have been returning each year to build nests in the same spot and are doing so again as I write this. I again tried to reach the northern KY dealer with no response. Because we hadn't had much heavy rain I put pieces of Irish Spring soap inside the length of affected gutter as a repellent. I had had good success with this with a mouse problem and read that it would work with birds, as well. But, apparently not. I've hung aluminum pie pans in the trees as a deterrent but the sparrows are aggressive and persistent. I wouldn't recommend this product. I expect there are other which are much less expensive and less trouble. If someone can suggest a fix that has worked for them, I would certainly appreciate it. read more

The only issue I had was the fact there was debris left all around my home (screws, nails, pieces of aluminum) to the point not only did I step on a screw my dog did as well due to them being all over my deck and pati. I called and asked if some could come and clean up or maybe bring a magnet. I was told they would be out and that never happened. I also emailed as well. This review is strictly regarding the quoting process, not the product. 12/15/2023. Had a nice, conversational representative named Adam. He came in, we talked for a couple minutes, then we went outside and looked at the gutters for 5-10 minutes. Went back inside and I thought we would get straight to the quoting. Wrong. 3.5 hours later I've paid half and the other half is 12mo 0%. Got home at 5:30p and couldn't do anything else substantial till 9p. My interest went for about 30-45min but the rest of the 3.5hrs were even tho it's good quality construction and Adam was conversational. Overall recommendation: Stop being gimmicky. Almost the entire sales pitch was heavily gimmicky. Let the product sell itself. Tee off with the big pointers, customize the verbal presentation after seeing where the ball lands, then once the customer has seen the product and been given a "more info" packet, putt the ball across the green with 1 hit. Don't keep tapping it around, just barely skirting the hole, and ending up with a 47 on a par 4 hole. Specific recommendations to you, Gutter Magician: Cut your quote time down to 1hr, no more. Full stop. Condense your presentation so it doesn't take 1.5hrs to go thru. Get rid of your logo and giant-font wordy catchphrase after every little section. Eliminate redundancy and wordiness. An abundance of words is just so tacky. Put it in a packet "for more info." Stop requiring your sales guy (or "Factory Representative" as i was told) to go thru the whole presentation. Stop requiring your sales guy to keep repeating things about saving me time and money, keeping me safe, etc. Stop educating me on the impacts of each season on the gutters and then asking *after each* "so you agree you want to save time and money and not have to get up a ladder?" Baptist church services aren't even half as long as the whole pitch. Stop requiring your sales guy to ask in the middle of the barrage "so what do you like about the company?" It's like *pfff* what an I supposed to do, parrot back what I've just been told? This isn't grade school and I'm not the student. Stop requiring specific questions to be asked by the sales guy. Again, Adam's a nice guy, but I can immediately tell when it's a scripted question that's not entirely from within him. Scripting is so impersonal. Stop requiring your CEO's letter to be read to customers. Put it in an "extra info" packet. I appreciate the sampling of the competition's gutters and hoods, but again it took too long. I don't need an in-depth discussion about the pros and cons for *each* competitor. Again, put in a packet. I appreciate that Adam physically stood on the product to demonstrate the durability compared to the competition. Get to that WAY sooner. I appreciate the paper explaining the 30-day and 60-day warrantees. Get to that sooner. Take your measurements first thing and then go inside. Don't wait till it's 8:15 and dark outside. Stop bringing up that the company is trying to keep people employed and that it would help you if you got this business. If your baseline is that shaky, go quote businesses for bigger gutter projects, go diversify your business with other areas of structure maintenance, repair, replacement, and installation. I'm a homeowner not a charity. You're an X-amount million-dollar company. Stop requiring that someone agree *TODAY* or else they don't get a $1000 rebate. Give a guy a couple days to think and maybe even pray about it, especially when my inquiry to Angi.com was submitted in April and it's now December and I've forgotten even about submitting the inquiry. Stop the cheesy guessing game about the price. "If you can guess it within $50 we'll take that $50 off." Gimmicks. Again, we're adult men, not kids guessing which hand the candy's in. read more

The experience started off at the Home & Garden show where we set the appointment and they needed to make sure we were both there for the call (very timeshare like). They call the day before to confirm appointment and let us know that we both need to be there, and that this will not be high pressure and their quote is good for a year. They go through an obscenely long presentation (1-1/2 hrs.) showing the flaws of their competition and glowing testimonials about them. The technique used during the entire pitch was sales 101 of getting buy-in and laying the groundwork for a high price. This is all scripted as they start from lowest to highest with their competition, and here is where the gimmick starts. Our sales guy says if we can guess where the price is with $100 ($50 higher or lower) he will give us a $50 gift card to one of three places, while giving us a hint, that it is higher than any of the prices we have seen on the paper (range of $2.5K - $6.5K). He then shows us our quote for over $9K and asks what we think. When you tell them that you are not interested, they start pressuring you to commit to signing a contract the same day by dropping the price with a one time rebate of $1080 only if signed right now. After another "no - it is not in our budget", we get "If you are flexible when we can install", there goes another $1K. Dealing with this company is a waste of time. They don't want to give you a simple estimate good for a year - they want to pressure you into buying on the spot. With all of this being said, it looks like they have a solid product that works. I just wish I would have received a quote with a fair price with less investment of my time for gimmicky sales tactics. read more

We can't say enough about the quality of the gutters installed by Gutter Magician. We evaluated a few companies and their product appeared to be the best option for no fuss. We did have one issue and they are taking care of it with only one call.. The pricing was average from the other companies that we had come give us a bid. . I wanted new gutters so I called a couple companies for a bid. The first company quoted at around $3300.00 which I thought was reasonable. The second company came at over $6000.00 and I told them they were way too high. I told them I had a bid for nearly half that price. The salesman called the owner and they went through this bogus story of how they had extra gutters from a person who cancelled the order and they could come close to the other price. The product was very good so when they got within a couple hundred dollars of the other quote I said go ahead and install the Gutter Magician product. Very happy with result but I didn't really like the way the price process was given me. I guess they thought I just fell off the turnip truck. I do think they have the best product out there and so far (1 + year later) the product has been great. read more

Horrible experience, I need the option of a negative star rating! Charged over 8k for just over 200 ft of gutter. Damaged our new metal roof because they decided to alter the method of installation (without informing us, though we were available). Added a fee for the extra labor it took to change the install and damage our roof. Yes, you read that right-they charged us for the time it took them to damage our roof and the OJT of the subcontractors they hired. Yup-they sent subcontractors, though they promised they don't use them during the sales pitch. Owner of company straight up lied frequently to us and the lending company (per conversation with the lending company). He would not honor their 100% money back guarantee. Company even called the contacts we provided at the sales pitch and told our family members how "satisfied" we were and said that the gutters had been up for 3 months. At this point, they had not even been installed 3 weeks and the company was well aware of our dissatisfaction. Now the gutters have been up for close to a year and when we have heavy rain the water just rushes right over the gutters at the corners and pours large amounts of water right next to the foundation! If highly unethical behavior, and poorly functioning gutters are your goal in choosing a company-by all means, this is the one for you! read more

I kept telling him I would not be able to do it at this time because I'm paying off another home repair that costed thousands of dollars. The price for their gutters are crazy high!! The person then kept telling me that if I buy them it will keep them from having to lay off their workers. A LOT of the pressure was about them "not wanting to lay off workers". This was a horrible experience! From practically the beginning, and was never resolved! First of all, the crew made an appointment for installation, then postponed. Okay, no big deal, stuff happens. Although, this was the first of many times we'd hear excuses. Next, the crew DIDN'T SHOW UP for their newly scheduled time. One guy came and ripped off the old gutters and our BRAND NEW drip edge on our brand new roof! Ripped it completely off without asking! The manager Doug, and Ron, said it was a standard thing that they do- ripping off drip edges of roofs. But, that is really irrelevant. No one mentioned anything about that to us before doing it, and it was literally a week old. We paid for that drip edge. Doug was very rude. So, after the rest of the crew no showed, the plan was they would come the next day to install the gutter system, first thing. Surprise, surprise... they were more than two hours late. While the gutters themselves look really good, and they do, there were many issues. First, the minor issues. There was some sloppy cutting of the edges and scratches on the finish. There was actually a large dried up drop of blood on one of the edges. Gross. Now the much bigger problems! First, they left my yard TRASHED. And, this was something the salesman harped a good bit on, about how the crew is meticulous about cleaning up. LOL- NO. They did not put the patio furniture back. They knocked over my plant stand and a few plants, and left them knocked over. There was a random large broom in the yard. Someone dumped out a red liquid in my driveway, and at first, it really concerned me because I have dogs and I had no idea what it was! They threw a piece of trash into my neighbor's yard- an empty tube of adhesive. Now, the most personally upsetting issue (although, not the last): Not only were there dozens, tens of dozens of screws, and quite a few super long 16 penny nails, lots of washers, and other random debris all around my house, but there were pieces of metal...extremely sharp pieces of metal...literal SHANKS that you could actually kill someone with strewn all around my yard. Some were upwards of six inches long with dagger-sharp ends and razor sharp edges. Why is this so upsetting? Well, I have two kids and two dogs who like to run around the yard constantly. My husband mows the lawn. I like to garden. These pieces of metal could have SERIOUSLY injured any one of us. I was so upset, and for DAYS we were finding these shanks and other sharp metal shavings around the immediate proximity of our house. So, we called Doug again. Was Doug apologetic? NOPE. Not at all! He made more excuses! One after another! Was not concerned one bit with the prison weapons lying throughout our yard. He reluctantly sent a crew guy back out a few days later to take a look at what we were calling him about. I showed him the sloppy work. He said there was no excuse. Also said the same for them not showing up and being hours late. Then, I showed him the shanks and metal scraps we'd been finding. He acted appalled, although I highly doubt cared. He said it was ridiculous and that he would have been upset too. That he understood, as a father and a dog owner, that these things were really dangerous, and that the crew should not have left anything behind. He went around and touched up the paint that had been scratched. And I am assuming he cleaned off the blood stain. The crew guy agreed that the work was sloppy and he said that he would talk to Doug, because the crew needed to come back and make adjustments to the sloppiness, like rough edges, prying back our brand new shingles (which was another lie in the sales pitch....that they didn't have to mess with the shingles!), the drip edge (that they replaced my brand new one that they ripped off with) was uneven in places, one of the end caps not being well done, but also that the mess they left in the yard was unacceptable. So, my husband waited to hear back about that. But no one ever called. That was around November 9, 2017. I was sick of waiting and not getting a call back, so on November 26, 2017, I emailed the company through their website. No one ever contacted us. I waited it out through the holidays, but I'm not waiting any longer. This company has been the most unprofessional company I've ever done business with. No concern for our time, what we have invested in this gutter system to improve our home, and most of all to our safety. Doug never once owned up to anything, and just made excuses throughout the process. The sales pitch was a joke, considering they didn't live up to many of the things that supposedly made them different. The gutters themselves look good (minus the sloppy details, which you can't see from a distance), and so far as we can tell a few months later, they have worked fine. But, I don't care about that when the company was so unprofessional....and I'd rather my kids or dogs not get sliced up as they play in the yard. read more

The factory representative was very nice and did a great presentation, although it was longer than we expected, we did have a lot of questions which he was able to answer. We decided to go ahead with the project and they came out yesterday and did the installation. We are so very happy with everything including the clean up. An employee of this company approached my family while we were outside of our house working in the yard one day in late April offering free estimates on our gutters so we took him up on it and set a date for someone to come out and look at the gutters and give us a quote. A different employee (who said he was a representative) came out and looked at our gutters (no ladder or anything...just from the ground). Instead of offering us an immediate quote, he took from 6-8:30 to walk us through a presentation of gutter parts and a big binder of what their company stands for and the cons of cleaning out gutters every now and then. Finally he offered the quote (which was a very large sum, over 4 thousand) and said if we bought that day, he would offer a check of almost 900 dollars. He spent the next twenty minutes trying to get us to buy which we kept refusing saying that is a lot of money to decide on a whim to spend. He understood and was a nice guy just doing his job. Then the calls started. Once every week-2 weeks until I asked for them to stop at which point the man (who informed me he was in charge of calling, Brian, I think?) said to me, "this is the sound of us not calling you" and hung up. Hopefully the calls are monitored but judging from the lack of respect, I doubt it. I would not recommend this company for the terrible customer service over the phone. Also, many businesses we have had quotes from get to the point and don't spend hours talking about the so-called integrity of the company. read more
