Arvin answered our removal and pre roof prep questions. The onsite crew was polite and courteous the entire time on site. There was a sudden shower hiccup while installing the new shingles but they followed up and handled it. A longer shingle warranty was chosen and shingled product photos the project mgr took upon finished inspection...speak for them selves, I noted 2 areas where they added extra edge flashing that wasn't in the contract, but no charge. They quoted 3 old layers removal but there was an old 4th layer underneath. That added removal and dump charge weight was detailed & noted. The fellas at Goodvan's do good service work and follow up. I will be referring them for future roofing work.

However, he was never informed that a promise to clean the outside of the gutters, the garage doors, and the glass on the sundeck was made. The sales rep made several offers of these 'extras' and adjusted the price of the cleaning service down because "we're in the area so won't charge for travel to and from your location". After the windows were cleaned, I was informed by the salesperson that the price had jumped up by $55 because I couldn't pay until four days later when my pension cheque is deposited. I had made it VERY clear that I would happily pay on Friday but could not pay the day the work was done. The sales rep got very huffy and demanded the extra $55 "because you're paying 4 days after the work was completed". I think this is unfair for two reasons. First, there was no guidance for the actual cleaning person, my garage doors were never cleaned, and the poor kid looked at me as if he was in shock when I pointed out what the sales rep had promised. Secondly, I don't like being harangued about a price increase when I was extremely clear that I couldn't pay on the day the service was done. I do not recommend dealing with this company. I maybe old, but I hate being bullied.

We needed someone to pressure wash our strata courtyard fast to prep for a home sale. The guy who…read moreused to do it moved. We contacted Ben and he made time in his schedule to come out and give us a quote right away. His prices were reasonable and he was able to fit us in before the open house, he was also very attentive to the details. We've been in this strata for 19 years now, and Ben's the first pressure washer that ever asked us if we wanted the tops of our planters cleaned. He also noticed an area on one of the roofs that has some moss on it and suggested a non toxic way he can remove it without damaging the roof tiles. After spending a full day on the courtyard and entryway, he came back on a second day to "touch up" anything we'd noticed once it'd dried. Mostly, he "touched up" things he himself spotted. A number of residents liked his work so much, they've hired him to do their small patios as well. He arrived on time and stayed until the job was finished. A friendly guy who clearly cares about doing a quality job. Will use his services again in the future.

The least that you want is a call to let you know that they are behind or to set up an appointment but, I didn't get any of that from Refine Cleaning & Maintenance.
