Guthrie's is such a throwback fave for me that takes me back to my college time in Tallahassee. A "Gut box" has always hit the spot for me, so when I saw a location in Mableton, I continued to say that I'd check them out and finally have. Recently I had a random craving and my bf picked up a small box for my lunch. The portions in this box weren't anything to write home about, I really wish there were more fries! Although their fries initially seemed like the same frozen fries that so many restaurants serve, they were quite tasty. A little all over as far as temperature goes, but they worked out. The coleslaw had more of a vinegary taste than I prefer, which bummed me out because I had actually requested extra because I love coleslaw. The chicken was freshly fried but not fried as hard as I'd hope, leaving them a bit soggy after condensation took place. The Guthrie's sauce brought it all together though. Like, that sauce can do no wrong and can make everything taste 10x better, lol. All in all, an okay experience and I'll definitely have to return to give them a try. read more

Stop by the location today! Y'all- the food was cooked fresh and came out perfect. The restaurant was immaculately clean and was bright and inviting. But the service- amazing. The young staff went out of their way to welcome me, got my order in right away and brought the food out to the table. You learn something new every day. Obviously I did today. Because prior to this Restaurant I ate Chicken tenders from Zaxby's in 1996 in Macon GA and Raising Cane's in 2024 in Snellville GA. This is the original Chicken Tenders Restaurant being opened in 1965 and being only Chicken Tenders in 1978. I grew up in Savannah GA and I previously never seen or heard about this restaurant! Everything is delicious on my plate the tenders and the fries and the sauce I thought that I would only receive 1 sauce and I got 3'extra sauces they gave me 2. The coleslaw is real good to. I really don't get drinks a lot with my meals I drink water. This sweet tea with the crushed ice is outstanding! Only thing I would have liked was some ketchup I didn't receive any. Other than that it's great. My brother wants to visit this restaurant now! He never had this before Alabama owns! I put my drink in my food container so that you see who was doing this first! I love the food but the service is just not what I want. I have come on 8 different times and one once was it great service. Everything is cooked to order so don't be in a rush to get your food. Awful chicken tenders. The first time I went (shortly after they opened the Peachtree City location) I had a really good experience. The two times after that have been very disappointing. Each time I went through the drive thru. The employees have been very nice!! I stopped by this afternoon and has disappointed for the second time. I guess I will have to continue to get my chicken tenders from Publix! The first order of chicken fingers were dry and shriveled up. The replacement tenders were better but still not up to snuff. 1st time at Guthries & i cant lie.. their tenders are better than Zaxbys imo... i think it was more because it was cooked to order so it was super fresh but the chicken was also seasoned well & juicy! I pulled over because I had never seen this place and they had a drive through which was so convenient after getting off work and sitting in traffic for an hour. I quickly familiarized myself with the menu as there was Only variations of chicken tenders and sides. Everything came out piping hot. The chicken tenders were on the skinny side... idk if we have just been overly exposed to steroids and if this is what life was like before. The seasoning on the fries and the tenders was good as well as the Guthries sauce. The tenders were slightly crispy, i could still feel their finger print left on the roof of my mouth when i was finished. And I definitely would say that they are Zaxby's younger underdeveloped twin. I had a Guthrie's Snack with crinkle cut fries and Guthries sauce. (side eye). I'm not mad at you though... when you go down the bread aisle, you know how many loaves of wheat there are made by different companies! Make your money honey! Stopped by Guthrie's today for lunch. I saw a lot of great reviews for it on Nextdoor so I decided to check it out. I walked in because there were several cars in the drive thru. The owner or manager there was very nice at explaining the menu. The other workers there seemed very nice as well. I ordered the box for 7.99 and a snack for my daughter. The food is good BUT I am not going to tell no lies it was very seasoned lol. Some may say salty even. I did not like the coleslaw either but for some reason that didn't surprise me because I am picky when it comes to coleslaw. I didn't try the sweet tea there but I heard it is good. Usually I have no issues. However, today my son had a hair in his chicken fingers. When he pulled it out it was kind of long. I took photos and immediately called the restaurant. I was asked the color of the hair, I stated that I don't know possibly black. She said there's no one here with black hair. I said it's a dark hair, I'd don't know if it's brown, black, dark brown, or what. She said no one here has black hair. She was very rude and unapologetic. There's clearly a visible hair. She said so what you wanna do, you wanna bring it back for a replacement? Basically cutting me off. I said yes. Honestly, with the attitude I received, I don't feel comfortable getting a replacement. Much better than Zaxby's I know it because I love chicken tenders and these are so tasty that you will definitely want more. We usually get a bucket of the tenders to go and warn these up in the air fryer and they taste just as good. Got to absolutely got to get these tenders. I had not heard of Guthrie's until they opened one by our home. We brought ours home to eat. Everything was still hot when we sat down with eat. Asked for extra seasoning on fries and didn't receive any and the tender have gotten SIGNIFICANTLY smaller than their impressive grand opening. This place has delicious chicken,I mean phenomenal! The fries need some work. I went throught the drive-thru and recieved, what I believe was re-fried fries! (GASP) I know right. I say this because some were super hot to the touch and the others were luke warm at best. However they were all brown and super fried. Long story short I went inside, asked for more fries and they obliged. I ordered a snack, which comes with fries and 3 oz of chicken. I'm assuming they portion the chicken strips into 3 oz portions because I always get 3 strips. Also subbed their original sauce for a bbq sauce. Not sure if they are hiring, but only 2 people were running the restaurant. A cook/ manager and a cashier. So if you are reading this post and need employment, this might be a good place to check. Not to say these individuals weren't holding Guthrie's down, but I know thats a heavy load for only 2 people who Im sure don't get paid anywhere near what they should, but yea.
