Another reason not to use them If it is a small job like a roof for instance he will probably do a good job for you. if it involves major construction: tearing down internal walls; building a true addition you should look for another contractor. We had an addition wit some walls knocked out; added a sun room and laundry room. It took more than 5 months to get done and the work is sub par at best. So far I have had to re paint all of the walls and ceiling as well as do a lot of plasterboard repairs. I have crooked walls and door frames and still needing to redo some of the work done on our new kitchen island and the wood floors were not properly done.

My wall had to be repainted which they should have offered to pay for since the installer made marks all over because they sold me long floating shelves that was never installed at that length so had to install different brackets and notch the shelves to fit the brackets. 3times out here to install two shelves and 3 1/2 cabinets. I was set for me and my daughter to follow with full kitchens but we are going elsewhere now. Over $60k worth of lost business, not sure who wants that! The plans were ready to be executed. If you are looking for a good look and good quality this is not the place!!!

The cabinets we ended up with are extra custom. We wanted a more modern kitchen than I expect is very common in Nashville (several cabinetry companies our contractor typically works with could only give us Shaker cabinets, which isn't what we wanted), but Builder Supply Source had flat panel cabinets, which is the modern look we wanted. When they didn't have the exact stain color we wanted, they worked with us to create some samples based on some Pinterest/Houzz pictures I sent over. A few days after I sent the photos over, we had four samples at our house. We really liked three of them, narrowed it down to two, and finally picked one. I really appreciated that they were willing to work with us to get the color just right! We had a few little issues (one small panel of wood came slightly scratched up), but Builder Supply Source took care of everything. We worked with Will, who was great from our first meeting with him (we were in his office for about an hour talking about options and coming up with the best cabinet layout). And - at the end of the project - we're just in love with our cabinets (as well as with the hardware we ordered through Builder Supply Source). They were great to work with and the final product is exactly what we wanted. I don't think we would have ended up with the kitchen we had in our minds if it weren't for Builder Supply Source!

The representative I spoke with asked if I would reconsider allowing American Home Design another opportunity to earn my business by sending a salesperson to meet with me. I agreed, and an appointment was scheduled. Mark arrived on time and was very courteous. He asked a few preliminary questions and then took measurements for the project. Once we sat down to discuss the available options, however, the experience took an unexpected turn. Mark began explaining why he believed American Home Design was the best company for my project. I told him that I had not solicited quotes from any other companies and that I was already satisfied that American Home Design appeared capable of providing quality service. Despite this, he continued with his presentation about how established the company was and why he felt they were best suited for the job. At that point, I simply asked him to show me the available material options and provide me with the cost of the project. Instead of doing so, Mark abruptly stated that he did not feel American Home Design could provide the service for my project because I had not allowed him to finish his introductory presentation and that he only saw to customers per day and this is how he made his living. He then gathered his materials and left. I found the entire experience extremely disappointing. I agreed to give American Home Design another opportunity specifically because I was willing to reconsider doing business with the company. I was not asking for anything unreasonable--I simply wanted to see the available options and receive a price for the project. Instead, after taking the time to meet with your representative and allow him to measure the project, I was essentially told that my business was not wanted because I chose not to sit through a sales presentation. I have to question why I was contacted and encouraged to give American Home Design another opportunity if the salesperson was unwilling to discuss the actual project unless I first allowed him to complete his sales presentation. This was a significant waste of my time and left me with a very different impression of American Home Design than I had before the appointment. If the goal was to earn back my business, this interaction accomplished the opposite.
