I had to seek out someone quick to fix the leaking roof! There was a dead space at the end of a valley where water had been seeping through for years. The wood was rotted & I called 5 companies to repair the valley & area. Andy & Nina came out within 20 minutes of my call. Got up on the roof & told me about the dead space & the reason it happened. Basically poor planning on construction. He noted the half-Azz job done at repairing the flashing. Explained that he would need to make a cricket there to help the valley drain properly. When he came off the roof he thought the roof age was 20 years because of the deterioration- it's only 12!!! Only 2of the other companies showed up for quotes, neither got up on roof. Neither said a word about what was causing the problem or how to prevent it. And BOTH were much higher than Kanga's estimate. While discussing our options we discovered another leak in rear where previous owners (AGAIN) failed to do contracted repair to a pipe boot - at this point with the knowledge we had of 2 known leaks, wood damage, drainage issues & the shingles not aging well. We decided to use kanga since Andy seem the most knowledgeable & honest. Plus he was very reasonable in his pricing. I called him again & asked for another quote to do the entire roof! He quickly got me an estimate- the pitch of the roof is REALLY high & he was able to get the square footage & pitch from satellite image of the home. We agreed to the job & Nina came out a few hours later to let me choose color of shingles. We signed the contract & they came out the beginning of the next week. There was an issue with distributer of the shingles in contract- but she was able to get the same color in a higher quality shingle at no extra cost to me. The workers showed up around 7:30am & began the process of ripping off everything. On the rear Andy said the whirl vents were to low so they would install them higher. We also discovered 2 spots over the soffits in rear that leaks were beginning- luckily no real wood damages. They couldn't finish the first day as they ran out of shingles. So they returned the following afternoon. They cleaned up walking areas the first day & swept with magnet for nails. The filling day they cleaned up much more thoroughly & made sure to go over all surrounding areas with the magnet. I can't express how happy we were with the whole process, Andy was on site several times throughout the day checking on things. The workers were very polite. This is how it should be by all companies!! BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!

It was the first big girl project in this house, and one I WANTED to do, rather than had to do. Anyway, I hired JW McLeod because Cary came highly recommended. I saw his work first hand and was sure this guy would do great. Originally, he quoted me 4-5 days. It took 2 weeks, and it's still not finished. Cary did the majority of the work. His guys came in for the first day of demolition, so this is really about him not his crew. There are things I didn't know, but expected a licensed contractor to know. For example, he asked me if I wanted to tile all the way up to the ceiling, of course I said yes. However, I didn't know it should have had a framed border where the tile met the ceiling. He's the expert, he should have known. Now, FULL disclosure, I paid him BEFORE the job was done, so I know where I went wrong. Long story short, as you'll see in the pictures, I have an incomplete shower remodel. The shower door wasn't installed properly and it leaks. There is BLACK grout all over my walls and ceiling. There are holes in the dry wall needing repair. I told him he didn't have to paint because I hadn't picked a color yet. He was supposed to install a plexiglas shelf in the middle of the niche so I had more places to put my junk (typical girl with a lot of hair products). That's no excuse for leaving the room as he did. I sent him and email on the 23rd of November, after trying to contact him via phone for a week. His number is now out of service.

He explained to us pretty detailed how he'd do the job, which reassured me he knew what he was doing! He was able to come out within a day or two of us contacting him. Cary did more than enough to help us and extremely satisfied with the work he did for us. We would definitely use him again!

We received regular updates, photos, and explanations throughout the build, which made us feel involved, informed, and confident every step of the way. We had several meetings along the journey where we learned about each stage of construction and were given the opportunity to make changes as needed. From day one, Randy sat down with us to review the plans and help us customize the blueprints to fit our family's needs. One of our favorite parts of the process was getting to make all of our own selections. Every contractor we worked with--from flooring, paint, and brick to lighting and finishes--was professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. Everyone involved showed genuine passion for their craft and a commitment to quality. A HUGE thank you to Randy--our amazing builder--for holding our hands, answering every single question, and keeping us sane through this entire process. He truly made this experience unforgettable. And let me tell you... this man works HARD. Randy goes above and beyond in everything he does. The details, the craftsmanship, the heart he puts into his work--it all shows in every corner of this home. Kedalo Construction adds thoughtful touches, takes the time to get things right, and always keeps the homeowner's best interest at heart. We couldn't be happier with how our home turned out. It's everything we dreamed of and more, and we are so incredibly thankful for the entire team for making this journey such a positive and memorable one.

We hired Randy to work on our Caledonia Forest property and had numerous issues with him. Delays over and over again, little to NO communication, horrible shoddy work that we had to go over and fix ourselves, and then charged us over $10,000 more than the original quote, after months of delays from the promised work. I paid him around $10,000 for tiles from Heritage tiles and he stole nearly half the tiles and refuses to pick up his phone or provide information on where these tiles are. After I called him yesterday, since he blew off my employee about the tiles and told us its "our" problem, and left a voicemail that he better refund the tiles or get it to us - he and 3 of his employees left us 1 star reviews on our Google page. THIS is how this man and his "company" treat local business owners? Months of delayed work, tens of thousands in over priced work not completed on time, steals OUR tile that we paid for, then leaves OUR business negative reviews? Unbelievable. I have an incredible builder now who is top notch. If you need anything done in Clarksville, hire Bruce with Saunders Construction. And what ever you do, don't hire a THIEF like Randy Whetsell and his company. Making up lies it took 8 months to pay. Your first original invoice was sent on 11/1. It hasn't even been 8 months. How convenient your price went up over $10K AFTER you were called out for your lack of communication and the terrible work of your team. You got YOUR money, you refuse to call/communicate about my tiles, then have the nerve to leave my company 1 star reviews after how you and your team treated us? Unbelievable. RESPONSE TO STACEY: I wrote you guys one check that my bank chose not to honor. Now I wonder if it's because you guys have a history of scamming people? Then I asked you for a way to pay via card, and I paid my balance: IN FULL. You bet I took my time paying. When you guys delayed work by months and didn't communicate EVER unless I had to send numerous messages to Randy. What your operating costs are for accepting card payments in 2022 is relevant to the customer HOW? You guys ruin your own reputation. Screwing over a small business owner, steal my money and tile, do AWFUL work that we had to pay thousands more to FIX, then deny your theft of my paid property? I hope Clarksville runs crooks straight out of this city. No more business owners need to be screwed over by your company. And material cost doesn't jump by over $10,000 within a couple of months. Funny how that extra $10,000 got conveniently tacked on to my bill the day following my message to Randy about my disappointment in how terrible the work you guys did was and how often he continued delaying finished work with NO response or communication. PAID invoice slip attached below. Including nearly $19K for the tile and labor. We paid this invoice in full and this company stole nearly half the tile work that was never completed in our shop!

Unfortunately, the project was abandoned before completion. Despite having been paid, the contractor did not complete the contracted work, and we experienced significant problems with communication, scheduling, and getting the project finished. There were also issues during the project involving workers, tools, materials, and work that remained incomplete. We made numerous attempts to communicate and give the contractor an opportunity to fulfill his contractual obligations, but the project still was not completed. We have documentation supporting our experience, including the contract, payment records, photographs, messages, and records of work performed. We have since had to pursue other avenues to address the situation, including filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and looking into the appropriate licensing and legal processes. I am sharing this review because I believe potential customers deserve to know about our firsthand experience before hiring a contractor. This review is not based on hearsay or someone else's experience--it is based on what happened to us. I sincerely hope Stanley Custom Builders takes responsibility for the unfinished work and resolves the matter appropriately.
