Even though we didn't find what we were after, it was cool to wander up and down the hallways and through the maze of rooms scoping out the goods...we really loved some of the windows and lights they have hanging around. I could not be more pleased. Was everything perfect? No .. but darn near. Most impressive was my inability to convince anyone at Guthrie to commit to a schedule they were unable to meet -- and believe me, I tried! It's an extremely professional group of people, from design, to project management, to individually skilled craftsmen. If the electrician was due on Monday, he or she arrived promptly on Monday. Each worker was polite, courteous, considerate, and did their part of the project efficiently. The project manager answered my questions promptly, and since it was my first experience, I had a lot of questions. The end product is a beautiful and functional kitchen. I can not speak for the other review on this website (owner's wife not getting back with them timely.) I do know that in mid August their shop was flooded and they lost many things that took a month or so to get sorted out...maybe that had something to do with the disruption (again, just a guess)... I had them out in mid August to get a bid (they got me one within a day or two).... we committed the first part of September (deposit) and our kitchen was completed the third week of November. There is a lead time that is necessary - they order the door fronts custom. Once they are received they paint/stain them in their shop and allow them to cure. They schedule one kitchen a week for installation. They told me a month ahead of time, when my week would be and they kept their word. I was very pleased with the end result and it was about the same price as hiring a painter to do a professional painting job and I had alot less mess and time out of my kitchen.

My objective was to open up a cave-like kitchen lacking natural light and allow flow into the adjacent rooms by removing and/or lowering walls. I just had no idea how. Within days of my initial consultation with architect Greg Mayo, the owner of 3 Day - Nashville, I was provided with a detailed floor plan and renderings of the finished kitchen. What he presented exceeded my expectations of what I thought possible, it was not anything I could have thought of myself. The job was scheduled for just over a month out, then Greg and I had a second consultation to choose countertops, cabinets (style and color), cabinet hardware, sink style, and faucet. I was given an allotment to select backsplash tile. The project started as first calendared and five days later it was completed! The organization and coordination that Greg must have done and to get the reliable, hardworking and trustworthy (not to mention genuinely nice) crew he did is truly remarkable. If you have ever done a project before, you know you cannot complete "C" before "A" and "B" are done and "B" is an electrician job while "A" is a plumbing job. The coordination of professionals was a feat in of itself. Greg was on site every day checking on progress and chipping in with the work. I'd like to add that I asked quite a lot of Greg during the lead up. I was a pest. I asked him many times about different countertops which resulted in him making calls to suppliers and fabricators. He also did some detective work tracking down a tile that wanted to incorporate into the kitchen. He never failed to promptly and professionally respond to my inquiries. I am very grateful for Greg's vision, experience, and professionalism. I am so happy with my kitchen and open floor plan! Note: This job was five days given the amount of actual construction (e.g., removing walls, adding support beams to attic, adding drywall to ceiling in kitchen and the adjacent and now connected rooms) was achieved in that short period is incredible.
