    Schooner's home

I came here to grab a beer with my daughter and her friend. The beer comes in a very cool glass - if you order a schooner that is. And... you need to order it in a schooner. We didn't order food, just the beer. It's a great place to meet up with friends and feel the energy from everyone in the place. A thing to note - if you use the restroom, you will probably notice there is no sink to wash your hands. Exit the restroom and the sink is out there in the bar area. I suppose you can ridicule anyone who is not a hand washer in your group! :)

We found an absolute treasure when we walked in to Gus's Tavern. Went on a Tuesday at 11 o'clock and the place filled up within minutes. Classic old style classic bar and the scooters to boot. The dutch lunch was absolutely delightful as was the staff.

Would definitely recommend this establishment. We had the Dutch lunch and the Miller beer on special. Lunch was quick, fresh and delicious! Waitress said the bread and deli was from the bakery and deli down the street. The bar feels like your back in time. A must for lunch in Pueblo.

    Delicious "Dutch Lunch"!!

Delicious "Dutch Lunch"!! I'm so glad I made it in for this. Lots of history, friendly staff and clean clean clean. You won't be sorry!!!

If you're looking for authentic anything- come here. Fun atmosphere, the one of a kind Dutch Lunch washed down by a SCHOONER of beer, cold as ice! You'll be sorry if you missed this iconic place.

Great locals dive bar. It's a historical landmark. Cold schnooners of beer. Lots of great pics on the wall. Single red felt pool table.

The "Dutch lunch" was delicious and we ended up Making 3 sandwiches out of it for only $12.

As expected, maneuver around the location and parking were problematic. Because of that, and the cold weather, we came early, arriving about 4:40. While we were willing to wait elsewhere, the proprietors seated us immediately while we waited for our other two parties to arrive. Big props for being accommodating. The food was top notch and the menu ranging from commonplace to exotic. Every dish had an element of gourmet treatment. All the entrees we ordered were excellent. The venue is small. I wouldn't say 'intimate', given that it has large windows facing the street, but it was cozy enough on a cold night. OUr server was very friendly, helpful and attentive. Prices are not cheap, but reasonable for the quality and creativity of the menu. We didn't order wine, but instead Italian beers in a brand I'd not heard of, allowing us to try something other than the usual two brands commonly available.

Service was outstanding, it felt like a choreography with how well our server took care of us. The space itself is part restaurant, part bar, with that odd almost-purple lighting that every spot for locals seems to emit. It's a bit noisy inside as a result, but it is what it is I suppose. The burrata starter was delicious. The burrata itself was so fresh, and the accoutrement were similarly tasty. For mains, the insalata with octopus and shrimp was really good, packed with seafood and balanced with citrus from a light dressing. The ravioli pueblo was interesting. The chile in the sauce was a really nice touch, adding some interesting spice to the dish. The sauce itself was very thick, the heaviness took away from the dish a tiny bit. But all in all, a great sit down meal in Pueblo!
