I don't think she is qualified to be a dental tech. I watched her do my son after myself and the same thing. We will not be returning here EVER. We were both complete in under twenty minutes and she attempted to reschedule before we were done. No X-rays taken on me(first time here) or my child's filing was not completed which was the whole point of this visit for him. The dentist stated he would be right back to fill it but we were basically pushed out the door by the tech and she said reschedule to get it filled when the dentist clearly said he would be right back. DO NOT GO HERE! I never leave reviews but had to here.

The tooth roots were very stubborn to get out, but Dr. Khandji was excellent, pausing every so often to make sure I was feeling okay. At one point he added a little more novocaine just to make sure I remained comfortable, and he got the job done very well! I liked that Dr. Khandji listend and answered all of my questions before the procedure. He explained to me everything to do after the proceedure. He wanted me back the next day just to check and make sure I was healing correctly, which I appreciated. I was also super impressed with his office staff. His assistant was an oral surgeon, was very kind and helpful in the proceedure. The front office staff was great -- they got me into the office the very next day to deal with my painful, broken tooth. Overall, it was an excellent experience. I will return to this site and get my tooth implant and I will utilize their services for any other dental work I need. I was very, very pleased with every aspect of their service. His offices are very warm and profesional which put me at immediate ease. His office and services would get a 10 from me!

Headline: Elitist, Predatory, and Medically Negligent--A Blatant Bait-and-Switch…read more 1) As a healthcare professional, I am horrified by the conduct at South Hills Dental Arts. They practice a blatant bait-and-switch: their website and Yelp explicitly state they 'accept most insurance' and will file claims for you. However, once I was in the chair on my second day, the staff rescinded this and presented an astronomical $21,000 treatment plan, stating point-blank they 'don't accept any insurance.' Take note: you should receive the total bill estimate on day one, before anything is done. When I disclosed my full disability and limited funds and asked for a payment plan or sliding scale (standard in ethical practices), the staff (biller) literally scoffed. I was told they 'don't like' taking Medicaid (my plan, surprisingly, would have covered absolutely everything they wanted to do) patients because it 'doesn't reimburse enough' and they 'have bills to pay.' Their elitism is only matched by their dishonesty; they performed X-rays and impressions on the first day, then waited until I was back on day two and 'ready to start' the procedure to reveal the full, confusing bill--a direct violation of the 'Federal No Surprises Act'. Most disturbingly, their post-surgical care was nonexistent. After an extensive bone graft and infection debridement, I was left in 'uncontrolled wild pain' for three days with no sleep. I was repeatedly ignored and told to 'just take Tylenol 3, Motrin, and use ice,' which was so medically inadequate that I was forced to go to the ER to get basic pain relief. It is a sad state of healthcare when dentists are so terrified of the FDA that they refuse to follow the drug guide for acute pain, abandoning their patients to suffer. My father was a surgeon who never turned away a patient in need; this office represents the exact opposite of that medical integrity. Not only did he accept anyone, whether they could pay or not, but he also made sure pain was adequately addressed, as it's vital to healing and considered the 6th vital sign; it's so important. Do not trust them with your health or your wallet. While I take responsibility for not doing my due diligence and reading the excessively poor reviews before I went there, I trusted my case worker to do right by me and make sure the office she chose either accepted my dental insurance or at least charged reasonable prices similar to what other dentists in Pittsburgh charge, not high-end boutique-level NYC prices. To add insult to injury, I simply asked the biller to provide a clear bill in which the numbers and procedures matched the appropriate days, and she took it as a personal attack and got mean. I have never been scared of the dentist until now. I really wish I had the confidence to walk around without my front tooth rather than to bear subjecting myself to the rest of the brutal procedure and suspected lack of appropriate pain control. It is especially disturbing to. know that a peer from high school's father would run a business like this. I would be too ashamed to show my face in public. On the flip side, it made me so incredibly proud of my dad, knowing he was a surgeon who wouldn't turn anyone away, no matter whether they could pay the bill. South Hills Dental Arts represents the exact opposite of that medical integrity. Do not trust them with your health and your wallet. The multitude of bad reviews, sadly, say similar things, showing this isn't new; it's a pattern. I want to be very clear, though: Dr. Yousuf (my dentist) and all the staff except the biller and, I assume, Dr. Crandall, the owner, were phenomenal. I can thank them for a lesson in poor business ethics and a newfound extreme fear of dental procedures.

Upon just starting Dr. Crandall's services & being given an apparatus to wear (at night only) to restructure my jaw-line, it fell apart and I awoke to two pieces of plastic in my mouth as opposed to the 'one piece' I started with. It was unsettling to say the least, as one part was as small as a lump of sugar and could have been swallowed easily. When I spoke to Dr. Crandall about my concern, his response was, " Well, I've been using this apparatus for over 20 years and no one has swallowed one yet." He showed little to no concern, just an enormous 'defense' to this uncomfortably frail piece of plastic he used. He truly couldn't have been any ruder. I was informed by their staff that this has happened with other patients, but "no one swallowed one". This was about as comforting as "broken glass". The admin was quite empathic, but couldn't go much further than the 'truth'. We were appreciative of their support, but want to let people know that when a medical professional 'backs out the back door' when there is a significant problem ... 'move on'.

I recently moved to Pittsburgh, and so I had not yet established health care providers in the area…read more However, I felt a cold sore coming on one morning, and my usual routine out in Denver was to immediately call up my dentist and schedule an immediate appt for a laser treatment. (If you get cold sores and have never tried this, it works like nothing else ever will! And it's only $80--about $6 for every day you won't have that cold sore now). However, very few dentists offer this treatment in the Pittsburgh area, and being a new patient, I knew it would be hard to get in for a last minute appt. After trying to get in with Dr. Barber, who I found through a google search, a staff member recommended Dr. Crandall, stating that he was also innovative and might offer the treatment. And yes, he does! Dr. Crandall's staff was awesome! The woman answering the phone, Babs, was incredibly helpful and got me in ASAP. She even called back to tell me there had been a cancellation if I wanted to come even earlier. I was so grateful as the treatment is not as effective after the sore has swelled (about 12-18 hours). I haven't gone here regularly, but the treatment I received as a new and demanding client (demanding in that I needed an appt that day ASAP) was fabulous. If I decide to stay in Pittsburgh, I will be making Dr. Crandall my dentist!
