Dr. Wadiwala is a very experienced and thorough gastroenterologist working out of Tracy and Manteca, California. Dr. Wadiwala is a pleasant man with an unpleasant task. He has performed three colonoscopies on me over the last fifteen years, finding and removing polyps, offering images of them (no thank you), explaining his findings, and properly addressing the matter of insurance. Depending on your colonoscopy results and your family history, he will tell you when you need to come back for your next one and his office will send you a reminder. He might also discuss diet. It's true the day-before bowel-clearing drink is horrible, but once you get past that, it's smooth sailing. The doctor will make sure you're sedated, you'll feel nothing, then you'll gradually awaken after the procedure is over. Since colon cancer is slow-growing, even if you have a malignancy, there's no need to panic. The important thing is to start having colonoscopies at age 50 by an expert in this field. Today was my procedure at Silicon Valley Surgery Center, and I had such a great experience. The facility was clean, calm, and very nice. Every single person I interacted with was wonderful. From the front desk to Barbara, who helped review my paperwork everyone was kind and welcoming. My first nurse, Kay, was incredibly nice, knowledgeable, and professional. When she went on break, Nicole took over she was also amazing. I'm not a fan of needles at all, but she did my IV so gently and with so much care. Then Kat, the third nurse, took me to the procedure room she was kind, calm, and very professional. Dr. Michael Block, the anesthesiologist, was excellent. He actually texted me the night before to ask if I wanted to review everything ahead of time or on the day of the procedure, which I really appreciated.
