I brought a 20 gauge shotgun to Reynersons that had feeding issues, gun was worked up and I was told it was "fixed" Took months for the "repair", went pick it up and was charged well over $100. Get home and gun still did the same thing. CLEARLY wasnt fixed, call them they tell me yes bring it back for rework and wont be a charge. Fast forward months once again and then all a sudden 2016 flood. I call them they assure me my gun was safe from flood and when they can they will be letting people come get their firearms. I finally get the call from them and when I go pick up the gun it was NEVER repaired for the second time AND to top it off they refused to refund me. So complete SCREW JOB I look at it like this, the Good Lord punishes those who do that to people and seems like it was a blessing their shop and family business was flooded for screwing people over. Beware the sons now have a knife company and one of them is connected to CCA Louisiana. Watch who you do business with or donate money to.

Its a very friendly place. Great pro shop/gunsmith on premises. Only a short drive from Downtown Baton Rouge. Its a membership club but you can shoot for a small fee if you are not a member. I wanted a compact 9mm for CCP as I just felt the PPK/S in .380 I have was insufficient for everyday CCP. Salesman did take me too literally when showing me alternates by only showing me what I specifically asked for! He did his job. However what I wanted and what was available are 2 different things and it took some time but we finally moved on to some other pieces that were just a tad different than my original request. Got home and realized that the store was offering a "package" (free range case and 2 extra mags). I called them up, and without thinking twice they offered me the same deal that was on the website. Salesman "Seth" was apologetic however I told him there was no wrongdoing by either side. I just noticed a deal after the sale and they honored it. I never shop big box for my pews because of the fact most do not honor the Brady Bill. Locally owned shops will forever get my business!! This was my first transaction with Jim's and I can promise it won't be the last!! Thank You to Seth and the rest of the team down at Jim's. The selection and prices are unbeatable. I challenge you to "not" be able to find what you're looking for at a reasonable price!!

Today I went to Hebert guns to purchase a scope for my Weatherby 300 Weatherby Magnum. I was told…read morethat they had everything that I needed for my Weatherby vanguard to mount the scope. Upon arrival I was given false information with regard to which scope would fit. In addition, they kept trying to sell me scope rings that were not catered to my specific firearm. After I left, I went to Jim's firearms and Bouy outfitters. Both did not have what I needed, but were way more helpful. While at Herbert's, I Was ignored and had some of the worst customer experience I've ever had in a firearm store. I left went home called both Weatherby and leupold. Within 10 minutes, I had the proper information necessary in order to mount the scopes. In addition, I had confirmation that the people behind the counter at Hebert's were incorrect in what they told me. I contacted Hebert's letting them know that I wanted to return the scope that I had bought not even an hour before and upgrade it to the 50 mm. I was told that they would not take the scope back that they have a no optics return policy. Even though I had just purchased it, and they remembered me, and I was not returning it. I was swapping it for a more Expensive version. This is my first ever Google review. It takes a lot for me to do this. However, I don't want anyone else to experience the level of incompetency or headache that I had to deal with with a bear guns. If I could remove the one star that I put on here I would. Immediately after getting off of a frustrating phone call with Hebert guns I contacted Puglia sporting goods in New Orleans. I was told that they would exchange my brand new scope from Hebert's and upgrade me to the 50 mm that I wanted and would include a bore site for free. This is why I only deal with Jim's firearms Bouy outfitters and Puglia sporting goods. Customer service services everything and when you go to a gun store and you talk to the "" experts you expect them to know what they're talking about. I would never ever recommend anyone shopping at a bear guns. It is not worth the little 20% savings that you may get. Because your frustrations and headaches will far outweigh that little bit of money that you save. They are absolutely awful. Even the manager jumped on the phone and got nasty with me. Not a good move. I will be reporting them to yelp. I will also be posting on Facebook and anywhere else that I can find tonight. They have absolutely created an enemy.I would like to thank purely sporting goods leupold Customer support and Weatherby customer support For their quick response to my inquisition.
