Today I went to Hebert guns to purchase a scope for my Weatherby 300 Weatherby Magnum. I was told that they had everything that I needed for my Weatherby vanguard to mount the scope. Upon arrival I was given false information with regard to which scope would fit. In addition, they kept trying to sell me scope rings that were not catered to my specific firearm. After I left, I went to Jim's firearms and Bouy outfitters. Both did not have what I needed, but were way more helpful. While at Herbert's, I Was ignored and had some of the worst customer experience I've ever had in a firearm store. I left went home called both Weatherby and leupold. Within 10 minutes, I had the proper information necessary in order to mount the scopes. In addition, I had confirmation that the people behind the counter at Hebert's were incorrect in what they told me. I contacted Hebert's letting them know that I wanted to return the scope that I had bought not even an hour before and upgrade it to the 50 mm. I was told that they would not take the scope back that they have a no optics return policy. Even though I had just purchased it, and they remembered me, and I was not returning it. I was swapping it for a more Expensive version. This is my first ever Google review. It takes a lot for me to do this. However, I don't want anyone else to experience the level of incompetency or headache that I had to deal with with a bear guns. If I could remove the one star that I put on here I would. Immediately after getting off of a frustrating phone call with Hebert guns I contacted Puglia sporting goods in New Orleans. I was told that they would exchange my brand new scope from Hebert's and upgrade me to the 50 mm that I wanted and would include a bore site for free. This is why I only deal with Jim's firearms Bouy outfitters and Puglia sporting goods. Customer service services everything and when you go to a gun store and you talk to the "" experts you expect them to know what they're talking about. I would never ever recommend anyone shopping at a bear guns. It is not worth the little 20% savings that you may get. Because your frustrations and headaches will far outweigh that little bit of money that you save. They are absolutely awful. Even the manager jumped on the phone and got nasty with me. Not a good move. I will be reporting them to yelp. I will also be posting on Facebook and anywhere else that I can find tonight. They have absolutely created an enemy.I would like to thank purely sporting goods leupold Customer support and Weatherby customer support For their quick response to my inquisition. Stopped in just for the hell of it today...wanted to check ammo prices mainly....The family really doesn't know what to get me for Christmas (they AIN'T gonna buy me a new pistola, that's for sure!!!) and I told them just get me some ammo for my .45 AP or my Ruger SR9...They started asking questions as to how much is it gonna cost? The ammo prices are in line with pretty much everybody else... roughly $25 for a box of 50 for target ammo (FMJ) and roughly $25 for Personal Protection ammo in a box of 20 to 25 depending upon manufacturer (hollow point). They have a good selection of Bianchi concealed carry holsters, gun safes and a pretty damn impressive array of handguns, shotguns and rifles for sale....wish I'da been rolling in the dough cause I woulda been making some big ticket purchases!!! At the least I hope the damn fam gets me an ammo certificate!!! read more

Really that was asked and explained when I was quoted. Feel like they only wanted to make more money off me. The parts were in sealed bag from Galloway Precision. Poor customer service. Unfriendly staff. Basic common courtesy lacking. I visited their shop when we first moved here in 2007, and I was surprised at their aloofness. I thought I would give them another try 12 years later, and their manners are absolutely no better. They lost my purchases of 6 guns & 10 knives, within that period of 12 years. I came in at 3 pm Tuesday the 13th with intentions of purchasing myself and my wife each a new firearm, unfortunately after browsing through the showcases with her and at least 3 employees, one of which directly in front of us refused to acknowledge us or ask us if we needed any assistance..I figured they were doing so well that they didn't need my cash business... I have been here a few times over the last year and spent over $1000 here. My last time will be my last time ever as the All Powerful Oz in the back room wouldn't bother to tell me to my face that he wanted to bend me over on a trade in. Stopped in to Hebert Guns today to look for a handgun for my wife. The young lady who was helping us turned out to be no help at all. She rolled her eyes at her colleague every time my wife asked a question. When I asked her if they had any gun belts for sale she looked blank and asked me what I meant. When I explained what a gun belt was she said they didn't have gun belts only holsters. I told her I already had a holster I just needed a gun belt to hang my holster on My wife and I agreed never to go back to Herbert Guns again as we found the staff to be rude and arrogant. read more

Today I made trip out of my way to stop in for some Glock factory night sights for my G21 they had them in stock which was great. Now here is the kick in the balls they told me that they did not have time to in stall them and I would have to leave my pistol and come back later well that is not a good thing seeing that I live 150 miles away from there. So I told them that I would just buy them and have the gun shop over here in Mississippi install them they refused to sell them to me unless they installed them needless to say this left a very bad taste in my mouth. I will not do business with them in the future nor will I recommend them to anyone. This company hired my son, who is a 2012 graduate of Colorado School of Trades, on Monday 11-21-16. He filled out all employment papers and gave them a copy of his diploma. He gave his notice at his current job as gunsmith and salesman at Premium Pawn in Natchitoches (with Hebert's knowledge of him giving notice) and rented an apartment in Gonzales. Eight days later, Hebert's called him and said they decided they needed someone with more experience. This is extremely poor business!! We recommend that you never do business here. read more

I called on a Monday for a price on a weapon I was interested in. The guy who answered the phone was nice enough and told me it was a premium weapon and his owner would have to call the distributor for price and availability and would return my call shortly. With no return call I stopped by the store two days later, Wed 2/28/18 to follow up. The clerk presented the message pad and I verified my inquiry. I then followed him to the owner to who was on the sales floor to ask if he had obtained the quote. The owner looked at me and responded, "does it look like I have time right now?" seriously lmao what a jerk. I responded that the last shop I called had turned around the quote in ten minutes and that two days should be plenty of time. He offered to call me back with a quote, which he did at $300 over MSRP while two other dealers were $300 under MSRP. He gave me a BS line about it's the only one left, which I have verified to be false. This BS sounds to me like his go to "close" to screw you over by representing urgency. With so many choices why would you ever choose to support a man of this character, I know I never will. Buyer beware! read more
