Moving from Los Angeles where you're almost a criminal for owning a firearm even if it's legal, when you get a nice amount of money the first thing you do is purchase a gun or two!! Upon walking into Jim's we were greeted professionally and assisted in choosing firearms for home protection. We settled on a Gen 4 Glock 21 .45 caliber and a gorgeous Benelli Nova shotgun. Prices are a little marked up but that's understandable considering Louisiana is a very desolate place and everyone's got to make their money especially as we got armed during this insane PLANdemic where everyone is seemingly buying up all of the guns and ammunition that they possibly can. We were also given free shirts with purchase and gifted a couple of extra goodies on the side. Absolutely recommend giving Jim's your business if you're looking for no frills, quality service.

Jim's is paradise for gun lovers. Sure Jim's sells vaults, clothing, cleaning kits, holsters and a ton other gun related items. But what makes Jim's special is the sheer quantity of firearms they have in stock. Jim's has a huge variety of guns. I'm not talking about your run of the mill Glock or Springfield XD. Sure they have those, but they also have the largest amount of 1911 style guns that I have ever seen in one place. There were every type of 1911 from entry level to $4000 custom pistols. It was truly amazing. Want to look like bullet tooth Tony from the movie Snatch? Jim's had several Desert Eagles in stock. Want to have a gun in case of bear attack? Jim's had both the .460 Magnum and .500 Magnum S&W revolvers. The staff at Jim's was very friendly and helpful on both of my recent visits. On my most recent visit I was fortunate enough to have a ling discussion about the different types of 1911 extractors. I loved every minute of it. Making the experience even better is that Jim's has very fair prices. I found them to be cheaper than the big box national stores, plus they had several very reasonable consignment guns. If you are in the market for a new gun, check out Jim's. If you need someone to go with you, let me know.

Amazing service. I came in last night looking for a new handgun and was blow away by not only the selection but also by the customer service. Nathan Drumm, sales associate that helped me, was wonderful! He made me feel completely at ease with my purchase. I will be coming back here for my gun/ammo needs.

.instead of th taking off each payment.added my initial deposit to the overall price. which was another shit storm to correct

I don't usually do this but don't shop here. They lie about their policies. Will take my business elsewhere.

Stopped in just for the hell of it today...wanted to check ammo prices mainly....The family really…read moredoesn't know what to get me for Christmas (they AIN'T gonna buy me a new pistola, that's for sure!!!) and I told them just get me some ammo for my .45 AP or my Ruger SR9...They started asking questions as to how much is it gonna cost? The ammo prices are in line with pretty much everybody else... roughly $25 for a box of 50 for target ammo (FMJ) and roughly $25 for Personal Protection ammo in a box of 20 to 25 depending upon manufacturer (hollow point). They have a good selection of Bianchi concealed carry holsters, gun safes and a pretty damn impressive array of handguns, shotguns and rifles for sale....wish I'da been rolling in the dough cause I woulda been making some big ticket purchases!!! At the least I hope the damn fam gets me an ammo certificate!!!

Today I went to Hebert guns to purchase a scope for my Weatherby 300 Weatherby Magnum. I was told…read morethat they had everything that I needed for my Weatherby vanguard to mount the scope. Upon arrival I was given false information with regard to which scope would fit. In addition, they kept trying to sell me scope rings that were not catered to my specific firearm. After I left, I went to Jim's firearms and Bouy outfitters. Both did not have what I needed, but were way more helpful. While at Herbert's, I Was ignored and had some of the worst customer experience I've ever had in a firearm store. I left went home called both Weatherby and leupold. Within 10 minutes, I had the proper information necessary in order to mount the scopes. In addition, I had confirmation that the people behind the counter at Hebert's were incorrect in what they told me. I contacted Hebert's letting them know that I wanted to return the scope that I had bought not even an hour before and upgrade it to the 50 mm. I was told that they would not take the scope back that they have a no optics return policy. Even though I had just purchased it, and they remembered me, and I was not returning it. I was swapping it for a more Expensive version. This is my first ever Google review. It takes a lot for me to do this. However, I don't want anyone else to experience the level of incompetency or headache that I had to deal with with a bear guns. If I could remove the one star that I put on here I would. Immediately after getting off of a frustrating phone call with Hebert guns I contacted Puglia sporting goods in New Orleans. I was told that they would exchange my brand new scope from Hebert's and upgrade me to the 50 mm that I wanted and would include a bore site for free. This is why I only deal with Jim's firearms Bouy outfitters and Puglia sporting goods. Customer service services everything and when you go to a gun store and you talk to the "" experts you expect them to know what they're talking about. I would never ever recommend anyone shopping at a bear guns. It is not worth the little 20% savings that you may get. Because your frustrations and headaches will far outweigh that little bit of money that you save. They are absolutely awful. Even the manager jumped on the phone and got nasty with me. Not a good move. I will be reporting them to yelp. I will also be posting on Facebook and anywhere else that I can find tonight. They have absolutely created an enemy.I would like to thank purely sporting goods leupold Customer support and Weatherby customer support For their quick response to my inquisition. Clearly the problem is with only a bear guns.
