Initially, the room is so bare empty. I expected a little more "interesting atmosphere." Another member of our group has done 4 escape rooms and mentioned this one was a "low budget" model. We didnt receive any input or direction of what to start with, and ended up calling for clues endlessly. When we opened the room w the barrels and called for a clue they told us we went out of order? We weren't supposed to be there yet? The wall cabinet w a keypad was the straw that broke the camels back. 4 or 5 members of our group had entered the code with no luck opening the cabinet. When time expired and the attendant came in the room, she also tried "the same" code several times and the cabinet did not open! Wth? This was obviously a malfunction and the responsibility of Escape Room South, and I believe we should receive a refund. (She offered to give us 5 extra minutes ! Hahaha!) We had a quick briefing on the room and on the do's and don'ts of the experience overall. Then we were off. We did the Tomb Explorer room. It was definitely challenging, and a lot of fun. The guy running the game was really good about giving us little hands when it's clear we were stuck without totally giving away the game and leaving a lot of challenge in it for us. We ended up completing the room but it took a little over the hour that was allotted. We were lucky because there was no one before so we started a little early so they gave us a few more minutes. This room was rated as a medium and it was definitely quite challenging. But I liked how well laid out the rooms were and the fact that everything seemed well maintained and thought out. I would definitely go back to this place and try another room
