We did not complete the mission but came reasonably close (though not going to lie the clues were necessary to get that far). Game is very well thought out and challenging. I was so excited to try my first escape room for my birthday, finding one locally was great!…read more Unfortunately I dont have any great review to share and am happy to share it w the business before sharing publicly. Initially, the room is so bare empty. I expected a little more "interesting atmosphere." Another member of our group has done 4 escape rooms and mentioned this one was a "low budget" model. We didnt receive any input or direction of what to start with, and ended up calling for clues endlessly. When we opened the room w the barrels and called for a clue they told us we went out of order? We weren't supposed to be there yet? The wall cabinet w a keypad was the straw that broke the camels back. 4 or 5 members of our group had entered the code with no luck opening the cabinet. When time expired and the attendant came in the room, she also tried "the same" code several times and the cabinet did not open! Wth? This was obviously a malfunction and the responsibility of Escape Room South, and I believe we should receive a refund. (She offered to give us 5 extra minutes ! Hahaha!) Our group of 7 was fed up and we left.

You can get unlimited clues (so if you have never escaped... you can finally do it!!), but we only had to use two. They also don't require you to give up your phone, but they kindly ask for no photos or videos to ruin the puzzle for others. The Secret Society was just difficult enough and so well laid out. From moving through multiple rooms and having amazing detail on every stage, this escape room was phenomenal. We will be back to try some of the other rooms. For anyone interested in scares, they said that the horror rooms have intense jump scares.

Such a delightful new experience for me! I'm hooked, definitely hooked!…read moreEspecially during this current COVID-19 pandemic time we're all experiencing, it's nice to have a getaway to feel safe and be out of the house actually doing something! Can't think of a better way to spend time out of the house (indoors anyway)! A friend invited me. He made reservations for us. Parking is along the street. It was Sunday evening so parking was easy to find and free. The hours on their site might need to be updated; it says they are open later than we experienced. We had reservations for throwing axes from 5 to 6 and that was the last reservation from my understanding on this Sunday evening. Caleb was our official coach; Sam was off-duty but she helped me as a newbie anyway and both were so awesome and helpful. First off, you walk inside to the interior of the former bank building and it is so incredible to see the high ceilings and pillars in place. There is a table of axes laid out (sanitized) and lanes of 2 boards side by side with bulls-eyes next to one another for you and your partner, then separated by steel mesh/wire for the next lane of 2 boards, etc. For COVID physical spacing, we were separated from others by one empty 2-lane space. Staff wore masks the whole time but we didn't have to wear masks while we were in our space to throw axes. There is a bar. I didn't pay attention what all you can order. We just ordered cans of soft drinks and we could take to our station to drink while we threw axes. It took me quite awhile to get the hang of it but with sufficient practice and coaching from Sam and Caleb, I think I finally got it (at least what I was "supposed" to do.) I even had a few land in the bulls-eye! Strutting my stuff, I am! What a wonderful re-purpose of the bank building space and upstairs is the Escape Room I'll have to try on another visit! Oh, and when you're done here, head over to Dorothy 6 restaurant across the street!

We love Ace Axe Throwing! We had been many times a few years ago, and came back to enjoy it again!…read moreWe like that the coaches give us room to do our own thing, as my fiance has thrown in leagues and I have decent experience. Unfortunately, we felt the communal axes themselves were in rough shape (the head of the one I was using was falling off the handle). Also, we were shocked at how empty the place was, though there were no complaints as we enjoyed having two targets to ourselves. All in all it was a good time!

Upon entering you are teamed up with a coach that provides you detailed instructions on all the rules of the facility and the sport. The coach is there to work out all the problems with your throwing and will help guide you so you do succeed and not become frustrated with your throw while keeping a distance so you can also have a fun time. Bob was the instructor we had and he was wonderful and help my throw improve throughout the evening. You can either keep score which is similar to bowling or just throw and have a fun time. The axe throwing lane was shorter than the others and I'm not sure why but none of us were doing as well as we have in the past. The waiting area was also small. This wasn't a huge deal because we had 3 lanes to our party. I also hated the fact that it was so quiet in there! You had to pay to use the Juke box. Another thing that I did not like is they we were basically kicked out after our hour I had reserved. We weren't asked if we wanted to pay more for another hour which we would've definitely done because we were having a good time.

He came over and opened the clearly locked door and did not look happy at all. It felt like the employees purposely locked the door so no one could come in because they ALL looked miserable. Pretty much the same setup as any other axe throwing place. Some of the boards were loose so we had to change bays a couple of times and the girl had to drill the planks in a few times as well. Would I come back? Probably not.

It was slightly challenging to identify the entrance to the business - it's the same as LumberJAxes. The space is huge and mainly dedicated to axe throwing, but there's a large bar with a good selection of beer on draft, some bottles, and some canned cocktails. The gameshow room is off to the side by one of the entrances. Our "host" took our group in and had us split into two teams of 10. Over the course of an hour and a half, we played several rounds of probably 5 or 6 different games. The host was fun and energetic, doing her best to keep everyone engaged and involved.
