I don't know where those words came from but it wasn't enjoyable. 5 years later to today... I didn't detect that odor. It was well lit. The idles were clear to push a cart. This is NOT and upscale/antique goldmine. It is a place that you might find something you didn't expect... as all thrift shops are. Prices? Generally high/very high on clothes. I go thru there books and oddities and baskets. This is what I don't find in most thrift shops- friendly people. The ladies at the register actually are really nice and can be very helpful about items inside the store. This store raises money for special needs programs. Donating here isn't fun but I like supporting companies who really help others. Don't expect a Thank You when donating. Just know that if rough times happen - it is stores like this that help. So if you are in the area, consider donating here. It's worth a quick 10 min stroll. Oh, if you spend $15 (I think), you can get a free item.. so I get a stuffed animal for my dog to chew on. Their service people are knowledgeable and friendly, however management is forgetful and fails to keep their scheduling appointments.,,,,resulting in rescheduling after rescheduling after rescheduling and time and money lost on your part waiting for a serviceman that's not coming. Due to their lack of scheduling skills, they do give you the option of you leaving your home unlocked so that they can enter your residence and service your appliances with you gone, however personally I feel uncomfortable with that option. Unfortunately I can not recommend their service due to their unreliability and lack of professionalism.... suggesting that if you need appliance repair, take a little time and effort to locate a professional service. You can (as I have) found that there are reputable appliance repair persons in the Ottawa area that are more than eager to service the Paola/Ottawa area.

He wants to send you a statement of just the things that he sold and then it makes it difficult for you to keep track of everything that left your house so I didn't get compensated for half the things that he took so to me I wouldn't recommend Strickland cause I think he's a crook

The running average for used merchandise that was labeled was around 60% of list price of current versions of the same thing. Many of the items were not priced and I found an older gentleman who seemed to be in charge who priced a few things in which I was interested. I found a used pair of hand drums that were missing some parts and had a broken head. He offered the pair for $150 and said that that would include tax since I was paying with cash. When we got to the counter, he changed the price to $200 plus tax. Hear me clearly folks--Full disclosure here: I own a music store in a different county. I was interested in the hand drums for me personally just as a normal guy off of the street. I am in no way bashing this place nor this guy, as maybe he was just having a bad day or some troubles with the memory banks. I am just simply offering this advice: please be careful that when you shop here a) you know the value of what you are buying and b) the management honors his word and sticks to his commitments.
