I have been a client for over 10 years, and have seen the decline since Dr. Ashton retired and sold his practice. It has become nothing but push, push, push for additional services other than typical twice a year cleanings. I like Dr. Mourselas and think he is a good dentist but ... I echo the sentiments of Stephanie G, Abigail K, Kjellaug Y, and Pete M. The first cleaning I had with Hygienist Alyson (a year or two ago) went the same as Stephanie describes - - Alyson was rude, unprofessional, condescending and has a nasty bedside manner. She is not pleased to have to deal with any medical issues a client may have. Due to vertigo and sinus problems, I am unable to be reclined back as far as she would like, yet she has no concern for anything but her own comfort. Likewise, the appointment setter, Claudia, is rude and obnoxious, stating that she told you something last time you were there, when she DID NOT. I was called less than a week before my six month cleaning and told that it would be a deep cleaning as discussed. They "mentioned" wanting to do it; but I NEVER AGREED to it - - and now they say they will no longer treat me if I don't have it done. I asked to speak with the dentist by phone and was told that I would have to make an appointment to see him in person, rather than a telephone call. I really only wanted to speak to him further about the procedure itself and privately question his staff's behavior, but because of Claudia's rudeness and pushiness, I decided to come here to let everyone know about my feelings publicly. Additionally, during the last visit, the dentist mentioned a small light colored area near one of my teeth near the gum (it has been there for years) and the dentist gave me a card to go see his buddy, a dental surgeon, to have a look at it. Two years ago, they stopped taking my insurance (claiming it was a slow payer), but I loyally stayed with them, and submitted repayments to my insurance myself for reimbursement; so now, all of a sudden, Claudia calls me a week before my appointment telling me I have good insurance and it will only be $35 for the deep cleaning. Furthermore, they will no longer treat me if I don't get it done. Could it be that they lost so many long-time clients they decided to again take my insurance? Working the system much? Poor business practices at the very least. read more

Dental Hygienist Alyson was Extremely unprofessional and unpleasant to work with she was grossly condescending!!! She lacked organization and was all over the board. Made my simple routine dental cleaning process a nightmare!! Gulfview Dental has always been highly recommended but hiring this girl makes me second guess the entire practice. The office manager, Claudia, is awful- Absolutely no regard for patients extenuating circumstances and poor communication all around. Lack of empathy from a healthcare provider is so disappointing.. extremely disorganized office as well. They got me in next day for an evaluation of a chipped tooth and could NOT have been nicer! Office is spotless, light and very welcoming! Excellent Dental office. It took me some time to find the right office for my husband and myself when we moved to Naples from California. We made our initial decision on Dr. Mourselas and Gulfview Dental on their 5 star reviews. All the staff members are extremely friendly and Dr. Mourselas is an excellent Dentist. Carolyn was out Hygienist and she is excellent. You will never experience over inflated pricing, and you will get an honest opinion on what if any work you actually need done. We highly recommend this practice! We searched high and low for a good dental practice who accepted our Humana Medicare dental insurance and were BEYOND impressed with every aspect of the care at Gulfview. The office staff, the hygienists, the dentists are all dedicated professionals, and are personable, helpful, honest, generous. They were the exact opposite of the other practices we had checked out who only wanted to "up-sell" all their services. We are so happy to have found this practice, we would come here even if they did not work with our insurance. This is a trustworthy dental office! Let me start off by say OH MY GOSH. I have been the biggest baby when it comes to dentist. I was so scared to have a new dentist that I cried the whole way to my appointment because of how traumatic my last dental appt was 3 years ago. Michelle, my hygienist, was amazing. She had me laughing and not at all worried about my teeth. She was so gentle and talked me through everything. For the first time in my 20 + years of life, I enjoyed going to my dentist. Naples resident since 1978 here. Don't believe their reviews. I've been a patient there for years. They pressure you to make positive reviews. They also try to upsell you on anything from dental floss to procedures. It takes them 6 months to get an appointment. It's been a couple years since I've seen their dentist. If you have an appointment near a weekend day, don't plan on seeing the dentist. They never answer the phone and never call you when they say they will. They used to have good dental hygienists but last couple years only have temps. I'm sure they will comment back on this and I can only say that I wish their office manager spent more time calling people back and less time on the internet. read more

They are: - incompetent at making appointments - incompetent at keeping appointments - incapable at taking ownership for their mistakes - Rude and disrespectful when they do make mistakes - Arrogant, in that as a dentist they offer orthodontia and other services outside their areas of expertise We used to like this office, that's until they began overbooking their appointments and sending us away when they did! They do not take accountability for their mistakes, leaving you without your booked appointment... asking you to wait another hour or reschedule and waste another morning. No, instead they say "Well, I'm sorry, but our computer did this." Sorry guys, YOU messed up TWO appointments, not your computer. Three weeks prior to my appointment I doubled checked the time with them, confirming an appointment at 9am. When I got there that morning, they tell me they overbooked and took the other client first! When I said I had booked this six months ago, they were raised their voices and said the other client did to, at another office. I mentioned my appoint was booked at this office, so shouldn't that be honored? No. Worse yet, I rebook for two days later... show up... and they LOST that appointment too! Apologies? No. Excuses... abundant. PLUS... these people were very rude, they actually said to me "Why don't you make an appointment with your other dentist." Me: 'What other dentist, you're my dentist." Them: "Where you get your dental work done." Me: "My orthodontia? He's an Orthodontist, not a dentist!" Them: "oh." I am not exaggerating. This was the actual conversation yesterday, when they botched up the second appointment. Naples has a ton of dentists... and plenty that are willing to be both competent and professional. SKIP this one and find another. Your time, and money, will be better spent. read more

Was a patient here for 4+ years. Constantly being upsold additional treatment and additional work. The last 3 or 4 semi-annual visits they continued to press me into getting a "deep cleaning". When I called to book my latest semi-annual visit they pressed me further over the phone to have this procedure and I said, "no, I just want a regular cleaning/exam" and they booked the appointment. I show up and the hygienist refused to do a cleaning unless I agreed to the deep cleaning (which I neither had the time nor patience to do that day). Total waste of 45 minutes of my day. I left a message to have the dentist call me and the following day I get a message from the office manager letting me know the dentist doesn't really return calls and I should set an appointment to come in to the office to speak with him. I won't be back and do not recommend this practice. read more

Went today for the first time after moving here from out of state. The staff was professional from the booking, receptionist and Michelle the hygienist. I love having my teeth cleaned and I could tell by the state of the art instruments that this was the place for me. Hands down one of the best experiences I have had and I have moved several times and am 50 years old. Highly recommend. They reviewed bill, talked about treatment options. I moved to Naples full time about a year ago and needed to find a dentist. I chose Gulfview Dental and have been extremely satisfied. I had a tooth fall out on a Sunday night and got an appointment the next morning. Dr. Mourselas did a dental implant and it was pain free and I'm about ready to get my crown. Both the Doctor, hygienist, assistant and office staff are both professional and friendly. I highly recommend Gulfview Dental and they even give out Beeswax lip balm for free! read more
