I have not stopped at the Mark for quite a few years. I knew the original owners but the business has been under the current ownership for a while. I stopped there believing I could buy fishing supplies, but they did not have what I wanted. I asked politely if I could use their bathroom, and I was told the bathrooms were for "customers only." My reply was, "I walked in here as a potential customer, but I found out you no longer carry what I wanted to buy." The lady I was having this conversation with answered me with, "Cleaning supplies cost money, baby. The bathrooms are for customers only." That reply was inappropriate and unexpected. Good thing I had another 10-12 minutes more driving time. I am thankful it wasn't a child or someone who may have been in dire need of using the bathroom, the closest rest area is about 20 minutes away. I was perplexed at the attitude of the owners, knowing that I was a potential customer, I was non-threatening, and I was polite. I walked out like I walked in, but I will never stop there again. If I could give this business "0" stars, I would.

As far as general stores go, this place was great. Good, quick, hot food! A great little coffee bar in the back, and a maze of areas to wander to find that one thing you forgot before your trip to the lake. Did I mention Martha Jane's coffee shop? While I didn't have the coffee there, it seemed closed even though the store was open, it was a quiet place to sit, enjoy my snacks and root beer. To my knowledge the only store near the area we stayed in, which kind of cool for them. Value: Prices are higher due to being the only game in town. It isn't terrible but you can tell. I don't care as they have literally everything and I like supporting small independent businesses. Overall: This store has a really small town feeling which is endearing. They even sell store merch which is pretty cool. If you're in the area I'd definitely recommend it.
