When I see this one nurse practitioner , I'm not sure of her name , I get the feeling she doesn't like me , I have complained about her before because she's rude and uncaring . She doesn't seem in-tune with what " chronic pain " means and she doesn't seem to care either . I saw her today and she got great joy in talking about reducing my meds again which HORRIFIED ME .. I'm Sick to my stomach because of her . She's mean . No other nurse practitioner has EVER mentioned this before nor have the doctors when I have procedures . It's time for this country to start treating chronic patients right ... we are not DRUG ADDICTS . Both nurses that I've interacted with, Jennifer and Suprina have been terrific, professional, and friendly. They also draw bloods, urines and other tests onsite so no extra lab trips. They accept most insurances, send lots of reminders, and because they're part of the South Baldwin Medical Group all you labs, notes, history and test results are available on a patient portal. While I could go in and on about how happy I am with this practice I will talk about why I always seek out D.O.'s. With my years in ER's, and Navy hospitals, I have worked closely with MD's and OD's and have almost always been impressed with the approach to care and treatment with OD's overall. Medical doctors (MD's) and doctors of osteopathic medicine (DO's) are both licensed physicians who have similar medical education and training requirements, but they are significantly different in their approach to patient care and philosophies in general. MD's are trained in allopathic medicine, which is based on the use of drugs and surgery to treat symptoms and diseases. Way too often it's all about prescription meds for symptoms and not about addressing the causes, sad. DOs, on the other hand, are trained in osteopathic medicine, which emphasizes the body's natural ability to heal itself. They're trained to look at the whole person, including physical, emotional and even spiritual aspects, and consider how those factors may be affecting a patient's health. Some even use a hands-on approach to diagnose and treat patients, that can incorporate manual manipulations and other physical techniques. Note, both types of physicians are qualified to provide a wide range of medical services, including preventative care, diagnosis, and treatment of illnesses and injuries. I may be biased today as my wife is a doctor of Naturopathic Medicine and we're both Reiki practitioners however DO's were my chose of doctor before either of us went down those roads, they just fit my idea of good medicine. I have a Medicare Supplemental Plan, and i truly believe they overcharge. I was told my knee braces wouldn't cost anything and am now being billed $2,206.95 each one, which my insurance payed $4,208.06, my part after being adjusted is $205.84; but, the lady told me she entered me in a "program", for lack of a better word, where I would not be charged. I have many more examples, but i will spare you. One more complaint is they are billing for a 30-39 minute office visit and i see them if im lucky for 15, but normally 10.​ A compliment i do have is for the exceptional check-in and the check-out staff. They make their money off giving people harmful injections. This place needs to be shut down as they are frauds. Don't waste your time or money here, they don't help their patients and only care about money. They are deleting their bad reviews because they don't want people knowing the truth about how they operate. The guy nurse is rude as hell and 95% of the time you don't even see a real doctor, only nurses. This place is a joke!! Go elsewhere where you will be listened to and prescribed the right pain meds and dosage. You will only be still in pain going here like I was. I continued to tell them the low dose of pain meds I was receiving wasn't helping me, but they did not care. Stay away!!
