What a great shop, I brought in a custom bass to have Plek'ed. They did an amazing job, it plays great, the action is perfect, every note rings out. Highly recommended, I will be back for other instruments.

Close to real tube emulation. Inexpensive and lightweight too!!

Picked up a Katana 50. They have everything including the knowledge of their products. Great to have a major, independent music store so close to home.

Their Logo from online I used to make a contacts photo for my phone. I added them since I've already ordered twice this week.

(Sadly have this experience very frequently where I'm from in bluegrass country.) But as soon as I walked in, I felt like I was in my pawpaw's garage, full of passion projects and home. John said, "If you can't find something... I'm sure I can't either. But holler anyway." All the pictures you'll find on Yelp are pretty much the whole store. You open the house door almost directly in front of the register, and all the merchandise is in the front and along one side. It's tiny but packed. This store has decades of stock and love in it. There are a ton of music books ranging from beginner to pro for all different styles, not just bluegrass. As John recommended, it's great to just flip through the books to see which style of writing and teaching makes the most sense to you. I picked out the cheapest open-back banjo, and John never tried to upsell me. In fact, he told me all the great things about the instrument I'd picked and walked me through the basics of the style I wanted to learn and even other ones in case I changed my mind. (Which I did lol.) This was all without me having to ask, with genuine excitement. He put so much care and attention into making sure the instrument and I were prepared. It's almost a month later, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase and experience. I will definitely be back for more supplies and recommend to anyone else looking for an instrument or supplies. I'm so grateful this is here in Columbus :)

They arrived very quickly, which was wonderful, but some of them didn't quite satisfy my needs, so I decided to return them. This is where the frustration sets in On July 9th, just 5 days after I initially placed and received my order, I submitted a return request as per the instructions on their website. In order for you to return, they tell you to fill out a form for each of the products in question and then they'll give you a special return number. I completed everything promptly and waited for a response. I heard nothing back. There was no indication that they ever even opened my request. After nearly 2 weeks of waiting and having no idea what was going on, I call them on July 19th. They pick up and I explain that I want to return/exchange. I immediately ship the items the following day While waiting to hear back, I eventually decided that I no longer wanted to buy anything at all because after extensively browsing their website, I realized that they didn't have the parts I wanted. I emailed them on July 31st explaining that I shipped my items and wanted a refund instead. I again hear nothing back. They did not answer any of my future phone calls, either At this point, on August 10th, I opened a dispute with PayPal because I was beginning to get very annoyed. It seems like this encouraged them to actually listen because I finally got a response on August 15th telling me that there were credits in my account and that I never indicated what parts I wanted in exchange. The thing is: I never actually saw these credits. Although they said they were in the system on their end, nothing was visible to me as a customer using the website. There was no clear section or page showing credits, coupons, or points and the status of my return was never updated. I told them that I no longer desired an exchange but wanted a refund instead. They ignored me. I email them again on September 4th, but I continue to hear nothing back Fast forward to 4 days ago (October 2nd). I was at my wits end and came to the Internet to 1) see if anybody else was experiencing something similar, and 2) leave some sort of review, because I literally had no idea what to do anymore. I resigned myself to the fact that I was probably never going to get my money refunded to my original form of payment Less than 24 hours after leaving my review, I get a reponse. They claimed that they couldn't issue a refund because I initiated the return outside of the return window, but that didn't make sense because I filled the forms out basically immediately after I got the parts and saw that they didn't fit what I wanted. I was waiting for them to give me return numbers but they never did. They didn't respond to me until *after* the return window, and that's only because I called. They again told me I had credits (that I couldn't see, mind you) but were willing to refund me so long as I took my Yelp review down The last 3 days have been an irritating back-and-forth of me explaining exactly why I wanted a refund and why I was upset that it took me over 3 months to reach any kind of resolution. But it's now devolved into them just ignoring what I present to them and telling me to take the review down This entire thing was maddening. I honestly wonder if they'd have even responded to or refunded me if I hadn't made that very first complaint to PayPal. The credits likely would've just sat in my account unused because I had no intention of ever purchasing anything again, which is essentially the equivalent of my money disappearing If you decide to do business with Guitar Parts Factory, I suggest you do it through eBay, Reverb, or at their physical location. Most of the transactions on these platforms are positive. They do a fantastic job shipping parts out at a speed that surpasses most large-scale companies, and they should absolutely be praised for that. But I would not recommend you use their website unless you are sure that you'll be keeping what you purchase. I'd also suggest you be confident in your purchases, period. Because the return process and communication is not good and you'll find yourself running around in circles My initial Yelp review was 1-star because at that point, I believed I'd never hear from them ever again. I've increased it to 2 stars because, while they're great at shipping and they did eventually return my money, the ordeal was extremely disheartening

I found out too late that nearly all of those great reviews on Google are actually for the Music Shoppe which was located on Erie. The previous owner who was mainly the one who fixed woodwinds died in 2021, and Johnny didn't open his own shop until January of 2022, but kept all of the reviews for the other store. I was told by a music store that our flute needed to be repadded. Johnny assured me that he was able to do it, but after over 200 dollars, 4 trips, and several lies later, I would never recommend his services for band instruments. Please do yourself a favor and take them to a store that specializes in band instruments, even if it costs a little more. When we first went to pick up the "completely overhauled" flute, he gushed about how it was "a beast" and how easily his flute teacher was able to play it. My daughter, who is an excellent flutist, was not even able to make it work. In fact, one of the pads completely fell out while we were there! Needless to say, we went home without our flute that day, which meant another trip. The second time, since it did play, we took it home, only to have another pad fall out with the next week, which meant another trip. By the last time we picked up the flute, our "beast" had turned into a "bad horn" that was just old and worn out. We were told in so many words that he couldn't really do any more for us, and don't expect it to last very long. It has not played well since, so my daughter has been using my old flute to get by. Last week, I finally took it to a reputable music shop in Canton. Imagine my shock when I was told that it is a good flute, but the person who put the pads in didn't know what he was doing! I will have to pay to have it completely repadded, meaning that I totally wasted all of that money and time. Hopefully, my experience will save some other customer some frustration!
