They have a wide selection of guitars, basses and amps. Plenty of strings and pedals too. Also a wide range of acoustics in a dedicated room. This is probably the best place to go outside of Columbus if you are within a hour drive of Heath, Ohio. Also they sometimes have selections of guitars and basses that others don't have so it's worth calling to ask if they have it in stock. The biggest selections is Fender and PRS. They also have a good selection of Yamaha, Ibanez, Alvarez, Taylor and Martin. Then some other brands sometimes make their way there. I was lucky to find a Sterling Sting Ray HH4. I am tempted to buy a few PRS core models from them. read more

I purchased a Yamaha RevStar Guitar from Guitar Guys online. They upgraded the guitar with a Bone Nut and also a custom Plek setup on the guitar. The guitar arrived in perfect condition. The workmanship was impeccable. Initially I thought the guitar had an electrical problem (it didn't). I'll spare you the details, but while we were trying to figure out the issue Brandon assured me that they would cover the cost of any repairs that might be needed. Turns out the issue was on my end and no repairs were necessary, but I greatly value their attitude and willingness to make it right. I found this shop by accident looking for a distributor of a EHX 15 watt Howitzer. Very specific search. The Electro-Harmonix site directed me here seeing as how the local big chain store did not have any in inventory even though they were said to be an authorized retailer with the device in stock. I prefer small music stores when I can find them. I don't really care where they are located if they can provide me what I need. This shop has items in stock that the bigger shops list on their sites but can't say when the item will be back in stock but will let you place the order anyway, which could be months to restock! I don't have that kind of patience or money to throw out there. Guitar Guys LLC had everything I needed when I called in. They must still be setting their web store up as there were some smaller items not listed, but they were a phone call away. I have dealt with two associates there this week over the phone. Both were pleasant to deal with and accommodating to my phone ordering needs. Most who know me know I prefer to get my gear from one larger chain store in particular, and that is only due to the pro audio section having all that I need just 3 miles away from my home. But the more specific items that you don't see most people buying or owning, those come from shops like Guitar Guys! I enjoy dealing with staff who are knowledgeable, helpful, and honest. I have nothing but good things to say about my interactions with them and some day I will be in the area to drop into the store to check it out, rather than doing it the "Air Mall" way and coming across something in Guitar Guys online catalogue then calling because suddenly I need that thing I saw that I didn't even know I wanted. They have great prices on their instruments and I foresee a new acoustic guitar this summer. They even sell Cajon's!! Affordably priced Cajon's! Seriously. I wear a shirt that I got from the radio station I work for during their charity drives, it says: "Give Local". That goes with the whole thing of bringing business back to your local community as well. Commerce has become this thing where everything is at our fingertips and not necessarily coming from places we have ever heard of. If I can I do like to shop local because I almost forgot what that is like to get a unique item, or have a unique shopping experience with local businesses. Make new friends with the people working there. You walk in enough times and people know your name after a while. It has been too long since I could find a local music store like that. Maybe Guitar Guys will be that place, maybe not. Either way, they are off to a great start with me and despite how far out they are, I drive out there to visit family anyway and for decent gear, I will make it a point to drive out there more. No matter where you live, their website is there. Just enter guitarguysohio.com and I'm pretty sure the website is hyper-local to your devices that order your food deliveries and your streaming services. Let you or your loved one experience that for their self. It really does help sometimes to just start strumming away when you are happy, sad, bored, inspired, etc., etc... They take PayPal and even have LayAway!! I haven't seen anyone outside of Walmart with a layaway plan since Schottenstein's was around. But Layaway was how I afforded my first bass guitar over 20 years ago, also from a local music shop that has since vanished. I still have that bass. "Shop Local." and let you or your loved one have an experience they will enjoy for years to come. If you are in the area, drop in and try it before you buy. Unlike the joke in the Wayne's World movie, I'm almost certain they will let you play Stairway to Heaven;) Reader, if you made it this far in my review... I salute you and your patience. I really do hope you are as excited about checking them out as I was to do business with them. I'm just excited about small music stores. It is so hard to find good small shops who put quality of their inventory over quantity of their stock who can compete against the bigger stores who want that put quantity over quality of their inventory. They have a huge selection of electric guitars and amplifiers as well as drums, live audio, and acoustic instruments including mandolins, violins, and banjos. Their staff is extremely knowledgeable and if they don't have what you're looking for, they will try and order it or find you a better alternative. They also offer lessons with several skilled musicians. I have taken guitar, cello, and mandolin lessons over the course of shopping with them, so the extent of their knowledge is massive. read more

I have had nothing but bad experiences coming from this place. Yes, they have a rather extensive collection of guitars and amplifiers as well as other equipment (drums, banjos, etc.), But god forbid you attempt to plug anything in and play it for more than five minutes. I had planned to buy a Jazzmaster from their store but after I was asked to leave after I had played maybe three chords on the thing, I went and bought it from SamAsh in Columbus the same day. The customer service is shoddy and the overall attitude from 90% of the employees there is absolutely horrible. I talked to one of the men about having my amplifier serviced, after explaining my problem with the amplifier, I was then talked down to by the employee, who proceeded to make me feel like a moron because I wasn't sure what was wrong with my tube amp. That was the reason I brought it to them, because I did not know what was wrong with it. Again, I left and had it serviced elsewhere. Overall, I have had nothing but a hard time with this place and I have no intention of ever returning for anything. I wouldn't trust them to do a basic setup without first being talked down too. read more
