I can see from other, older, negative reviews that the service has not improved. I am a first-time…read moreband parent. We used to have an excellent music store with wonderful staff. The HS and MS band would get their instruments at our local store, and I took guitar lessons there years ago. It was one of the businesses everyone was proud to call our own. After more than 60 or so years, they shut down. I have a daughter in MS who wanted to be in the band so badly; we go to the meeting, and Pellegrino's is there. The presentation was good, the person presenting did a brilliant job, and I felt good about renting from them. The first payment came due, and I had to close the debit card on file because of fraud. They called me, and I kept the new card on file. The second payment came around; they called me again after my card would not process. I completely forgot to call to change the billing date, and after letting her know that I get paid bi-weekly and can make the payment next week when I get born, hearing my request, her voice flipped from helpful and pleasant to concerned, urgent, and defensive. She overemphasized the 6-dollar late charge that I would have to pay, almost like a mom warning her daughter of the consequences of her actions. Six dollars is nothing; I told her that was not a problem. It was strange that she was extra concerned about a small late fee. She kept pushing for me to change the date to the middle of the month as her first solution, and I explained a second time that I couldn't pick a date that worked best because I couldn't be sure I would get paid on the same date each month. I asked her again if it was possible to call in to make the payment each month or an alternative method; she then became unnecessarily irritated and sighed, saying she would ask. When she came back, she stated that one way was a coupon payment. I have worked in retail/sales/customer service for over 20 years and have never heard of this. I asked my SO, and he said it is a bill you send back with your payment, like sending in the bottom half of an electric bill. He said companies would do this when they don't want to use the word BILL because some businesses view the word bill as unfavorable, so they send "coupons." No company does this; Pellegrino may be the last store on the planet with this payment method. She did suggest that I could send checks; while I have no problem ordering them, it is just not something I use. I asked her again if I could call it in; I can set it for the 15th of each month but will call it in early; that way, I am on time. This whole conversation was weird up to this point, but the conversation turned from strange and tolerable to disrespectful, accusatory, and just inappropriate. She said we could do that, but you have to have it in on time, or else you will have a 6-dollar late fee; I had no problem with it. I will have it in on time, so I can change the date and pay early. Instead of answering my question, she said the same thing. The previous scenario went on five more times, and she was more condescending and disrespectful each time. I could not understand why we kept going in circles and what she was implying. I felt like a tiny insect, not an adult mother who works a full-time job, goes to school part-time, and takes care of her daughter and all the other needs of the household, including appts, schedules, meals, etc. The misguided and baseless opinion she was trying to avoid just coming out with is that she doesn't trust that I will be able to pay on time because I already had two issues with my monthly payment. Since they were the first two payments, she trusted my word even less. I knew what she was trying to do. I am not a fool. I was furious at this unspoken backhanded accusation, and I did lend her an earful. Moreover, I did inform them, during the phone conversation a month prior, that I get paid bi-weekly, and I can't guarantee the funds will be there because of the holidays. If they have a recording of that conversation, they can hear the concern in my voice and my attempt to compromise so I can help myself pay on time each month. I believe I spoke with the same woman; she has zero empathy; the company will not negotiate a payment method that is the most efficient for the customer and act like there are no options other than what they have, and have zero intention of considering the needs of the customer. Worst purchase I ever made because of this experience. I will be advising other parents to steer clear if I am asked. It seems like i consistent issue with no intention to take corrective action.

BEWARE! Anney is a scam artist. She requires that you pay for the child's lessons at the beginning…read moreof the month then immediately starts canceling as soon as she receives the money. She offers to give a credit for the next month but still wants paid at the beginning of the month so now you have paid her in advance for more lessons and she still owes for the previous month. She repeatedly cancels last minute and reschedules so many times that it is hard to keep track of how many lessons she still owes. She inconveniences everyone with her poor communication skills and her lack of regard for anyone else's schedule but her own. The final straw was when she just didn't show up for a lesson at all. This was an hour and a half lesson that she owed us due to her numerous concellations in the past. She never apologized for the incredible inconvenience it caused our family. When I asked her to give me a refund she stated that her, "studio policy" was that she doesn't give refunds. She had already refused to reschedule the lesson and just decided that she was going to keep the money. She is disappointing as a music teacher. She does not give guidance because she is too pre occupied on her cell phone DURING the voice lesson to give the child the undivided attention that the parent is paying for. Final word...UNPROFESSIONAL, THIEF!
